View 5 RepliesI have a scorecard created in excel 2007. All my end users are using excel 2002. Now I want to build a scorecard in Excel 2002 like what we have in excel 2007. Is it possible.
I want to display the traffic signals and 5 level indicators (arrows), based on conditional formatting.
This is out of box in excel 2007. But how do I achieve this in excel 2002?
Is there a simple method?
I have designed an excel spread sheet for my staff to fill in when completing care plans - there are a lot of drop down boxes etc., on the form - when it comes to printing 3 computers on the office print it fine but the other 3 the margins seem to move and the sheets come out totally wrong - I have checked the setting and we are all using the same setting etc., but it is still happening - we are also all printing to the same printer.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi sell solar panel systems and i've broken it down to 18 different packs that i can sell, the reason for this is that i can very quickly have a tailored quote for a particular client. what i want to do is is literally from a pull down menu have the 18 packs, pick one and for all elements of that quote to come up. i have used a data validation list for the pull down menu which works fine. for the 18 packs, each one has an array of info of between 15 - 18 rows and 4 columns wide (containg info like part description in first column, then cost in second column, quantity in third column and total cost in fourth. how i set it up was, i have all the seperate packs going for left to right on a spread sheet with the title name on top. i have created a quote area so when i use the pul down menu to get title all that pack info should come up. i have done this by using the hlookup command to return the first column on the left - description on parts and this works fine - then to return the cost in the second column, i am using a vlookup command by looking for the description on the left to return the cost. this works for 90% of the info and for the other 10% i get an #N/A when i know it shouldn't. all cells have the same format so i know this isn't the problem. i would really appreciate any help on this from anyone who has had this problem before.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am facing an issue related to IF formula. It does show the correct result in one and another cell, but in a few others - doesn't.
This is strange since all variables are correct, and parameters are the same for every cell. And, in theory every cell should show the right answer.
In addition, the result doesn't change even when changing variables in cells that are dependants to cell where IF is located.
Concerning the formula itself. Variables are as such:
- different container types (20, 40, 40rf, 45cs, 45rf, 45)
- different weight limitations per container type (e.g. 20 container max weight 26t)
- using IF(OR(AND(....
- if any of the conditions met (e.g. 20 container < 26t ) then VLOOKUP for the rate from data based on the place name.
- if non of conditions met, then show "Overweight cargo"
I have a combo box that insert certain information in the row corresponding to the active cell. Apparently the events that trigger the code are generated by the combo box ( change or on click) but pressing any key also triggers the events of the combo box.(this is undesirable)
The following code is excuted even when any key is pressed. Any suggestions on how I can go around this problem? (get this code executed ONLY when a combo box event is triggered)
Private Sub cmbLinkInfo_Click()
'The record is inserted only if the user is inside certain range
'The range is inside the affected links table and between the columns C and F

(ActiveCell.Column > 2) And _
(ActiveCell.Column < 7) Then

Cells(ActiveCell.Row, 3).Value = cmbLinkInfo.List(cmbLinkInfo.ListIndex, 0)
Cells(ActiveCell.Row, 4).Value = cmbLinkInfo.List(cmbLinkInfo.ListIndex, 1)
Cells(ActiveCell.Row, 5).Value = cmbLinkInfo.List(cmbLinkInfo.ListIndex, 2)

I have a workbook where it is important that users do not delete any information in a particular range. But, I do not want to 100% block users from deleting the info.
What I would like to do is, if a user selects a cell within the range, and tries to overwrite or delete, that a warning box comes up to advise the user against changing the data. Is there a way to do this?
I have a workbook with a hidden sheet ("Template") and a visible sheet("New Job"). I need code so when cell F1 in "New Job" is populated:
1-the sheet is renamed to the value of F1,
2-a new tab is made (a carbon copy of the hidden sheet "Template")
3-the new tab is named "New Tab" and marked as unhidden.

I have this code that first selects a sheet (data) and then imports a csv-fil to the data sheet.
I want to hide the data sheet and the the code doesn't work.
How do I change the import code so that I do not select the sheet?

I believe it should be something like this: With Sheets("DATA").QueryTables. Add..... but I am not aware of the syntax.
I have a userform which clones the latest sheet and produces copy of it on the next sheet. The first sheet they will be cloning is the sheet called 'template', I however want this to be hidden since I do not want anybody to modify a sheet which basically serves purpose of a template. And once cloned, it is no longer needed.
On the click of the command button, the macro will create sheet1 taking the info from sheet named 'Template' in the same workbook . And now on the next click of the command button, Sheet 2 is created taking the info from sheet1 and Sheet 3 is created taking the info from Sheet 2 and so on. Here is what I currently have, so how can i modify it in order for my scnerio to work?
To select the last sheet in the workbook
Code:
Sheets(Sheets.Count).Select
To create new sheet
Code:
Sheets(Sheets.Count).Copy After:=Sheets(Sheets.Count)Sheets(Sheets.Count).Name = MyEvent & " " & MySCN & "(" & ThisWorkbook.Sheets.Count - 2 & ")"
I have a button on a sheet that runs a macro to unhide another sheet. That works, but I want the sheet made visible to remain forward. Instead, the button unhides the sheet and the sheet the button is on comes forward again. I am unable to figure how to keep the sheet made visible forward. Here is the macro 'as recorded'.
Sub UnhideSheet1()
Sheet2.Visible = True
End Sub
well , when i save the spread sheet , some rows still hidden condition
i apperaed them , but when exit with save , it will be hidden again

I have protected a workbook with a hidden sheet. I am trying to save the hidden sheet to a .pdf format.
It works well until I hide the sheet. I see from other post that the .select is a big part of my problem but I'm not sure how to get around it.
In a sheet I have a two hyperlinks with Sheet4 and Sheet5. when I am clicking on first hyperlink then the sheet4 is opening and when I am clicking on the other hyperlink then sheet5 is opening. But if I hide these two sheets it is not opening,
Is there any way so that hide sheets should be opened? will I have to write code for that?
way of protecting a very hidden sheet, I will still need to open the sheet myself everytime I use the program. The only person to open this very hidden sheet is myself.

The macro starts on open, opens the workbook with the data to copy, copies and pastes the data into the original workbook. The problem is that "Hidden Sheet" is hidden, so the macro can't see it!
how do I get the macro to use this hidden sheet without keeping it 'un-hidden'?
I have problem with additional "hidden"(duplicated?) sheets (not by atribute)
This is my excel, created from new fresh file : excel tables.bmp
And this is what i see when i get all sheetnames (with C#, word and some other programs) word-tables.JPG
where A1$ have same value as A1$_4349_inkjet_WZ
I have this problem with some other files but in this one i have 100% confidence that none of sheets is hidden nor very hidden.
I found that 3 proper tables are "System table" and 2 additional are "tables".

I have a macro which copy text from a sheet (sheet-1) and paste it into another sheet.
I want sheet-1 to be hidden, or even better, very-hidden, but when I hide sheet-1 the macro run fails. Respons Run-time error '1004'...
Is it a solution around this 'problem' or does sheet-1 always has to be visible ?
I've written some VB code in Excel 2003 which hides and unhides worksheets dependant upon 'Yes' or 'No' in a named range. This works Ok in Excel 2003, however if I try and use it in Excel 2007 it shows error 'Compile Error in Hidden Sheet'. When I debug it the error 'Compile Error - Method or Data Member Not Found' appears. The code in question is as follows:
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have placed the code I am using below. It takes values from a hidden sheet (PACTAct) and places them on a visible sheet (Email). The code moves between the two.
It works at the minute by unhiding the PACTAct sheet then at the end re-hiding it. However I don't want the user to see this sheet whilst the vba is running. Is there a way I can simply refer to the worksheet without unhiding it?
I have the following code (which works fine when the sheet isn't hidden)
Code:

I have a hidden holding sheet where I copy data into col A as follows:
Sheets("April_June"). Range("a10:A110").Copy Destination:=Sheets("Staff_Import").Range("a1")
This works fine but what I also need to do is delete the blank rows in the holding sheet "Staff_Import" and copy back to another sheet "July_Sept" without removing the formatting in "July_Sept" sheet ie cell fill & borders.
I have a database (attached) that has data entered into the "Progression" sheet. This data is continually updated, and once each row has a section date, I have a macro that moves the data from "Progression" to the "Complete" sheet (and from there, into a specific month sheet). I AM REALLY CONCERNED with data accidentally getting deleted (especially when/after getting moved to "Complete"). I know that you can link cell values from one worksheet to another, but since my data is continually changing in the Progression and Complete sheets, the linkage wouldn't maintain the correct cell values from day to day. Is there a better approach to creating "backup" data in excel than this linkage option? Preferably something that runs in the background without my input?
An option could be that I move my data from Progression into both the Complete sheet and then a hidden "Master" sheet when I run the macro. If I chose that route, how would I modify my coding to include transferring to the Master sheet as well?
Lastly, a simple linkage between the Master sheet and another sheet in a second workbook should be sufficient as a backup method?
I have a workbook including several sheets.
I'd like to hide all worksheets and in the excel there is only one visible sheet which is Navigation Page. I want to add several buttons on this sheet and each button will be clicked to call the other sheets.
For example, there is a sheet called Sales_Approval_Form and I'd like to add a button on navigation page called Sales Approval Form and when the user clicks the button the sheet will be open for entering data.
