I want to create a macro that checks whether a specified range of columns is hidden, and
a) hide them if they are not hidden, or
b) unhide them if they are hidden,
i.e. toggle the Hide state.
What method can I use to query the hidden state of a selected range of columns and return a boolean value?

Cells H1:AP1 has a range of data which each cell will either show True or False and are formula driven. Example H1 may show False but cell N1 may show True
I need to be able to hide those columns that show false using VBA.

I am currently using some code to copy a list of visible cells in column J and paste them in the same row in column F.
For some reason this code takes a long time to run, but it does work. I have to call it twice in my routine, and it can take up to 3 minutes per piece.
I was thinking about a way to speed it up, and I thought would it be possible to loop through a set of only visible cells in J and paste those values via Offset to F?
That being said, I've tried to do this, but not having much luck.
Here is the code that I am using which takes so long.
Code: ....

I have the following code, but it takes longer than expected to run. Is there anyway to speed this up? I am not sure if autofilter is a option. I just want to search through range A16:Z16 and if the word "FALSE" exists delete the entire column. The word "TRUE" is the only other word that would exist in range A16:Z16

This is Excel 2010 on Windows 7
Trying to figure out a VB Script but don't know where to start.
I have a sheet for each month. lets take September 2013
A Column with 200 Servers (A1:A200) on the Intranet listed as server-1/, Server-2/ Server-3 ... Server-200/
Each Server lists a location of a file for each day (31 columns per row)
I am trying to check for the existence of the files on each server (The Cells contain the URL and File Name in Range B2:AF201) starting with server-1 check the URL in B2 if it exists, go to C2, Continue with that row until the file check is False (The Page will show a 404 error) if not found delete cell url and continue. do this for all 200 rows

I have a worksheet where I have around 300 rows, each with 7 columns. What I want to do is add a checkbox to each column. I plan on setting non-applicable checkboxes to mixed status and locking the worksheet. I will unlock applicable checkboxes and sumif or countif their value according to row-based scoring, for example, each checked checkbox represents a value of 3. I do not know VBA and have chose to use the form control checkboxes rather than ActiveX.
I believe that a formula for this would be something like: =SUMIF(B1:B3,True,"3") or =COUNTIF($B$1:$B$3,True)*3
I am wondering firstly if I have that right and secondly if there is a way to stop my checkboxes from displaying labels. Currently, if I click on one it displays True behind the active checkbox. If I uncheck it, it displays False.

I have a command button on the first sheet of my workbook that opens a Userform. The following stages are simplified so as to not confuse the problem I am having. The user enters a word into a Text Box in the Userform, and when they click OK (Command Button), the second sheet of the same workbook activates, and the macro finds the word from a list in Column A. It then makes that cell the Activecell and then activates the first sheet again before closing.
The problem is that I would like all that to happen with Screen Updating turned off, so the user doesn't see the sheets change. For some reason, I can't get it to work. From my research, I have read that Screen Updating should not be turned off until after the Userform opens, or if you move the Userform around the page it will work as an eraser. So I presumed I had to add to the Search Button
Private Sub SearchButton_Click()
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
Sheets("Sheet2").Activate
'\The rest of the code follows here
so that when you click the Search Button the first thing it does is turn off Screen Updating. But for some reason this doesn't work.
I also tried adding the code into the sub that calls the Userform:
Sub OpenUserform()
UserForm1.Show vbModeless
Application.ScreenUpdating = False
End Sub

I script that on open would pop up asking if a sync was done with an option for yes or no. If yes is pressed then it would just open, if no selected it would give a message "must sync before use" and close the workbook.
I do not want this message to pop up when other spreadsheets are open when this one is still open so im guessing private workbook_open

I am using the following code in my Workbook_Open sub, located in the ThisWorkbook code module. I am enabling macros when opening. All other VBA code in the project is running correctly.
Private Sub Workbook_Open()
Worksheets("Sheet1").init
MsgBox "starting"
End Sub
The init sub did not appear to be running so I inserted the MsgBox to confirm, but that doesn't come up either.

I bet you're getting sick of the "X" questions, and I have done an exhaustive search but the search filter kills searching for (X) or 'X' or "X" .. but nothing I did find is what I am looking to do. I have any # of userforms that when you click the "X" in the top right side, it will hide the userform... once.. Is there a fix to the code below to make it do it every time its clicked?
Private Sub UserForm_QueryClose(Cancel As Integer, CloseMode As Integer)
If CloseMode <> 1 Then Cancel = 1
UserForm15.Hide
UserForm11.Show
If CloseMode = 1 Then Cancel = 1
UserForm15.Hide
UserForm11.Show
End Sub
Like I said, I don't want to disable it, I tried that off of one of the posts I found and thats just plain annoying, I just want it to hide the one userform and show the other. This will do it once and then you can click it all you want and it wont do anything.. see the annoying trait above.. this lasts until you exit the program.. so the X button can be hit repeatedly though out the day. The userform 15 is visible, userform 11 isn't shown, IE not behind userform 15.

I have an Excel add-in file (stored .xla format) that is used by a lot of other spreadsheets on a network location because it is modified often, and all workbooks made from a template reference it. everything with that works fine, and any changes made to the add-in file are always reflected upon startup in the workbooks. So there isn't a problem with that. Recently I've had to add a Workbook_Open() sub into this add-in (which I wrote in 'ThisWorkbook'). However, this macro is never entered by any of the workbooks. Is it possible to have a workbook_open sub in another file? If so, what can be causing it to fail (there aren't any errors or anything like that in the sub)?

I have noticed this on more than one workbook with an Workbook_Open macro. When you open Excel, open Workbook1, do some work , save or don't save and close, then reOpen Workbook1 without having closed the Excel application, the Workbook_Open macro in Workbook1 doesn't run.
Closing Excel and reopening Workbook1 initiates the Workbook_Open macro. It's as if Excel remembers having previously opened Workbook1 and so it doesn't rerun the Workbook_Open macro the next time you open it.

from 1 sheet i am opening several other worksheets and read in the bits i want.
i am finding that on occasions the workbook_open on these sheets is causing great performance issues because of the calc mode set to automatic in the open routine of the individual sheets. i dont need it to be set to auto but the sheet owners perfer it to be set like this and i cant turn it off their sheets. is ther a way of opening a workbook from a macro and then override its workbook_open routine?
Set wb = Workbooks.Open(sSourceFolder & "" & "mySheet.xls", False, True)
i cant find any other switches that i could use to disable this.

I need some help with some VBA to hide or delete rows that numerically equate to zero (please see attached spreadsheet template). The cells in the first two columns have text to represent categories, but all the remaining cells are numeric. If any of these are all zero I want to delete or hide the row(s) so the worksheet looks better, with less redundant info.

I often have several workbooks open and shift from one to another. One of these contains a floating UserForm; and the trouble is that when I leave this workbook and shift to another one, the UserForm belonging to the first remains open and visible in the new workbook; and I cannot hide this nuisance. Within the same workbook, it’s easy to hide the Useform when shifting to another worksheet (through code for Private Sub Worksheet_Deactivate()). Is there something similar for when the whole workbook is deactivated?

if combobox1 = 1 & combobox2 = 2 then hide Sheets 1,2,4,5,6
If combobox1 = 1 & combobox2 = 3 then hide sheets 1,2,3,4,6
If combobox1 = 2 & combobox2 = 1 then hide sheets 1,3,4,5,6
If combobox1 = 2 & combobox2 = 2 then hide sheets 1,2,3,5,6
If combobox1 = 2 & combobox2 = 3 then hide sheets 1,2,3,4,5
I would like to also make both of these combo boxes required fields and to default text to say 'Select One...'
