I have tried the following code, but doesn't work unless I protect the sheet:

Selection.Locked = True
Selection.FormulaHidden = False

If I protect the sheet, then it works fine, but how can I make a cell read only

WITHOUT protecting the sheet?

I have attached three excel files .....In the file called 'sampleBook1latest' I have a button called 'click here to clear a schedule' If I click that button and choose OR,start time and duration of a surgery then a schedule that is already created wil get cleared.....I have the total number of nurses and number of nurses used saved to the side of the sheet..... The total number of nurses at the side is read from another excel file called 'Input file for # of nurses'

Now the problem is that if clear a schedule then the number of nurses used is not getting updated at the side.....if I clear a schedule then the number of nurses at the side should also get updated....for example(If I create a schedule with 3 nurses and if only a total of 3 nurses are available then..... the used number of nurses for that specific time at the side will get updated to 3 from 0 and if I clear that schedule then the used nurses for that time should again become 0)....

The other problem is that if I schedule a surgery then all details of the surgery will be saved in another excel sheet called 'input file for patient details' so if I clear a schedule then all the details of that surgery saved in that excel sheet should also be cleared......

Countifs Except When Two Columns Read X?

I'm trying to find total gross commission within a spreadsheet, where gross commission found in Deals column Q. Columns T & U indicate with an "X" whether the deal was associated with referrals and such.

=SUMIFS(Deals!$Q$2:$Q$500, Deals!$T$2:$T$500, "x",Deals!$C$2:$C$500,">=1/1/2005",Deals!$C$2:$C$500,"<1/1/2006")

=SUMIFS(Deals!$Q$2:$Q$500, Deals!$U$2:$U$500, "x",Deals!$C$2:$C$500,">=1/1/2005",Deals!$C$2:$C$500,"<1/1/2006")

But now I need to sumif Q2:Q500 excluding rows where "X appears in either T or U, or both, to indicated complete self-generated deals.

File May Be Read-Only, Or You May Be Trying To Access A Read-Only Location

I'm trying to open a file on a network drive...but I'm getting the following error message when it opens: "This file may be read-only, or you may be trying to access a read-only location. Or the server the document is stored on may not be responding." Now, the file itself has no rights restrictions and is not read only. It doesn't appear to be locked.

Now, there are other Excel files in the same directory which I could open fine; however, the Excel documents having the above problem all have a little black icon "appears to be a padlock" (image attached) at the bottom left hand side of the Excel file icon. I tried the following:

- Renaming
- Converting to a different file format (didn't work, it won't let me)
- Opening in notepad...etc doesn't work.

This file is dated back in 2004...do you think it's corrupt? Is there anything i can do to open or recover this?

See attached file with a smaller sample of the 1667 row table of data I am working with. What I am looking to do is make a list on another sheet of each every line with a county and have the corresponding Township and range with it. I am trying to create a daily task activity sheet. I would like to know, how to make the columns visible and invisible as per the selection from previous column.

For eg:

Column A has a list which has values 'TC creation' , 'TC modification', 'System Test' etc.

Upon selecting TC creation, i need to make a column visible ie 'total tcs created'.

Upon selecting 'TC modification' i would have to make the previous column invisible and make a new column visible for entering no of tcs modified.

Upon selecting 'System test' the other columns should go invisible and make other 3 columns visible for no of tcs executed, no of tcs passed, no of tcs failed etc...

I've managed to get my macro to work ok - but what I want to do now is to get it to loop through more columns. Currently it looks for email addresses in column AH (which will always be the same) then it looks for a "yes" in columnAB and if there is no "SENT" in column T then it sends an email,after which it adds the word "SENT" to column T. What I want t do is for the macro to then run on columns AC+U, AD+V, AE+W and AF+X. So basically it will loop through one column to the right each time for a total of 5 pairs of columns

Make Userform Show Data From Spreadsheet And Add Delete Or Make New Entry

I have a spreadsheet on sheet 1 with a list of customers and their information. So on column A I have the customer number (i.e. k968, e37, p528,...), on column B i have the customer's name, on column C the street's name, on Column D the house number, on column E the zip code and finally the city on column F.

Right now there are around 600 customers in this list.

I have made a userform with a combobox in which I want to select an existing customer (pulled from the spreadsheet). On the same userform I have textboxes (customer number, name, street, number, zip, city). When I select a customer in the combobox, I want this customer's info to show up in the textboxes. I want to be able to change the info and hit Next to store the changes in the spreadsheet. When I do not select a customer from the combobox, I want to add new info in the textboxes and hit Next to store this info as a new customer. The userform also has a delete button. Then I select a customer in the combobox, this customer (and it's info) should be deleted from the spreadsheet when i hit Delete. So the spreadsheet is variable in length.
