I have a lot of text in a cell and I want to create a Hyperlink using only 2 or 3 words and not the whole text. Unfortunately, it seems as though the hyperlink can only be from the cell itself. Is it possible with Excel to create a Hyperlink from a section of text in a cell, and NOT from the cell itself?
View 4 RepliesIn my excel file, I have a cell with a hyperlink which points to an intranet portal. When I copy the hyperlink and paste it in the browser's address bar, the site opens. But when I directly try to open from the excel, by clicking on the cell, it redirects to a wrong URL and eventually does open the site.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have created a workbook of 12 monthly worksheets, with an index page with hyperlinks to each worksheet. There is also a hyperlink on each worksheet to return to index page. Each worksheet is protected, but the cells which users can enter information are not locked. The protected worksheets have the 'select locked cells' unticked.
I have found that an inadvertant click on any of the protected cells in the worksheet will take users back to the index page. This is very annoying, what have I done wrong? The hyperlink is one of the unlocked cells.
I have a file having around 57 sheets.But here,I have taken a example.I want a file whose show me only summary sheet.But when,I click the cell no.C7 then the related sheet should be open i.e.FNDADRSCC,and all the sheets should be hide.I have little knowledge of HYPERLINK formula but not to the desired stage.

In excel, I have created a table containing macro pull-down menus and text boxes.
The question I have is this:
In the properties table for my pull-down menu, I have the “ListFillRange” filled with the correct range of cells containing the data that I wanted stored in it.
The problem/solution I am having/wanting is to have not just one selection present, but many (to show up in the text box directly below it) since there will be some data that have many sub-data that need to be visible for the person who will be testing whatever…
All in all, I would like to know if there is a code that I can write in the Visual Basic window or the macro “view code” window that will allow the text box below to be filled with the information that is clicked on from its corresponding pull-down menu. Is this possible?
My cells have wrap around text enables. However when I double-click the row, it does not automatically adjust the row height to accommodate all of the text. It shrinks to a small row height. How do I fix this?

So I want a formula in A1 in Sheet1 that will search for the text contained in A2 in Sheet2 and display a useable hyperlink to the cell in which that text is contained, in Sheet2.
This may not even be possible, but if it is then that would save me SO much time.
I have a workbook that has a main sheet which provides stats from other sheets within the workbook. I have a hyperlink which goes to a certain place of sheet 2 and the displayed text shows the contents of a cell on sheet 2.
I know it's possible to have the hyperlink go to a certain cell on another workbook as opposed to worksheet, but I cant display the contents of a cell on another workbook as the text on the hyperlink.
I have cells which already contain text, which I need to keep. But I want to add a rollover hyperlink to make them changes colour when the mouse hovers over them.
unfortunately the only way I know how to do this is to add a formula to the cells in question (mid programming) but I cant because that will erase the text I already have.

in order to hyperlink a single peice of text in a cell and not the whole cell I have created a shape with no fill or line but added text. I then hyperlinked it to a location in the workbook. When I set the Move and size with cell property I am not geting the expected result. If I resize a row well above that cell, the object isn't following the cell it wa placed in. I would be happy with alternative mechanisms for putting independantly linked text.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have inherited multiple spreadsheets with thousands of hyperlinks in a single column, from all of which I need to extract the hyperlink text to audit it and edit it. The hyperlinks are only displaying less than useful words such as "Go To" "View" or "Click Here", for example.
Manually, I can right-click on the cell, select Edit Hyperlink, press Ctrl+End to select the entire link, press Ctrl+C to copy it, click on OK to close the editing dialogue, then paste it in the destination cell. That's easy, and good if you only have a few to do, but very tiresome if you have more than a dozen. Life's too short to do all those I need to do manually with a 29 day deadline!
I tried setting up a Macro to do it for me, but couldn't get it to work down a column and paste the result in the destination cell on the same row as each successive cell was located. I do very little Macro work, and I find Excel to be less than intuitive in this respect, so I gave up. (At least in Word you can see the whole step-by-step process in the Macro Editing window and easily fix it, if need be...).

What I need: Is for the cell AA8 to say "Click to Add Hyperlink" and then once a hyperlink is added AB8 to say in the cell "Hyperlink to Folder".

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having a slight problem copying hyperlinks. I have written some code that sorts data by date and then creates a simple diary. It originally placed the name of the event in the new diary sheet. What I would like to do is instead of copying the name into this new sheet copy a hyperlink that I have created to the company's website for that event.
I can create the hyperlink using hyperlink(B1,A1) where A1 is the company name and B1 is the web address but since the new sheet will not have the underlying data I need to actually copy the values and format of the hyperlink rather than the formula.

I would like to run a macro by clicking a cell. I don't want a toolbar button/menu item and Hyperlinks don't work. Can this be done?
More info: My macro selects the current row in Sheet A and moves it (cut & Paste) to Sheet B in the workbook. The macro then goes back to Sheet A and deletes the now blank row.

Above is the formula that I have, I am putting it into Column L. When I do auto fill every row that has data in J and K the formula goes into as you would expect.
However the formula does not activate until I double click inside each individual row and hit enter. Therefore if the calculation in L4 was 1.0, then 1.0 will appear as the calculation in every row of Column L until I double click in each row individually and press enter.
Is there a way to disallow certain cells to be clicked on?

i got the userform to popup when the workbook is open and the buttons work fine... only problem is when i click on a button, it will ask the user yes or no... if the user press yes, it performs the required macro without any problem... but when the user press no, not only it will close the question, but also closes the userform... I would like the 'no' to close the question but not the userform...
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a chart that I just added some dynamic text boxes to. That is the text is linked to a cell so that the text is automatically updated.
I also have a scroll bar that is used to adjust one of the cells. However, now once I click on the scroll bar it just disappears. I can click on the space where it is located and it will appear for a split second. Also, if I scroll down in the worksheet and then back up over the scroll bar the image will be refreshed and I can see the scroll bar again.
I didn’t have this problem until I added the dynamic text boxes, it worked fine with static text boxes.
Does anyone have any idea how to get around this, or do I have to stick with the static text boxes?
I have this data sheet with 7 personnels name in it. What I require is that upon clicking on the name of the person, the profiles that are attached to this person will open up.
Before any name is clicked, these sheets should not be visible to the user and upon clicking on the other names, the sheets that was previously open will disappear.
