View 1 RepliesI have a table which as a few columns, the left column is called name and the far right one is called email. The name cells have a drop down list which refers to another workbook with peoples names, when you select a name other cells are automatically populated using the vlookup function such as phone number, email etc. In the workbook it is referencing too with all the data, the email address are like a hyperlink which creates an outgoing mail if you click on it, is there a way to have this in the table as nothing happens when you ckick on the text.

Is there an easy way to write a formula which will make the cells which have text in them bold and make the cell colour grey. But if the cell is blank keep the cell white.

I have 4 cells in the Excel workbook that contain 1) Who to sen to:, 2)The Subject:, 3) A sentence for the Body of the email and 4) The filepath of the workbook as a hyperlink.
I want to add both the Body text and the hyperlink to the email so that the person opening the email can click on the link and open the file.

I need to find a specific text in column D of sheet2 of my worksheet and copy that row to sheet1 to the last blank cell in column B. The macro should continue to search for the next text and copy rows only if there is active cells in the range column A : C of sheet2. I need a VBA code to do this.

I am trying to use an active cell (i.e. "Sheet2!E7") which always changes, to create a hyperlink on a different sheet to that particular cell. What is happening is I have a master list of current open POs. On a separate sheet I have the PO listed in greater detail. I want the PO number on my master list to have a hyperlink that brings you to my detailed PO on another sheet. View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running Excel 2003 and I'm looking for assistance with programmatically creating hyperlinks. I have to update a Shared Workbook on a weekly basis. The cells in column D contain a catalog id and I need to create a hyperlink that includes this id in the url.
What I want to do is insert a new row, enter the catalog id and then create a hyperlink that contains the id. Additionally, the text to display has to be the 8 digit id. Here is an example of the hyperlink.

This code runs the hyperlink activation fine, but opens a new instance of IE, whereas I want it to use the already open and active instance, but using a new tab.
I have a column with entrys of 2 kinds. Some being Hyperlinks and others with normal type data. All cells are locked with password except for cells that will possibly have entrys made in them.
Is there a way to move the active cell to R1C1 after any hyperlink clicked? R1C1 is unlocked.

I have created an additional column and created hypelinks in front of each product. these hyperlinks are connected to the datasheet of that product which is saved on the drive.
I have created a field on the userform to display the respective hyperlink when a record is searched by user.
My problem is that the user form displays the hyperlink name, but its dead.
I want users to be able to click on the hyperlink to view the attached Datasheet. I have tried using Textbox and labels to display this hyperlink,
I run a model in Excel that automatically saves my file every xx iterations. After saving the file I want to make a backup of the file. Tried

I don't want to use .SaveAs as it is a huge file that takes a while to save and SaveAs has a tendency to break links that should not be broken..
I have a workbook that is a formatted report that I need to insert data from a name variable "CSV" file. I have created a macro in this workbook that calls an "Open" dialog for CSV files that I can use to browse to and open the source file. The macro then is supposed to "select all" copy and close the workbook then make the original workbook active and paste the data starting at row 2. The macro "seems" to be working perfectly except when I do the open the macro then makes the original workbook active, selects all copies then wants to close the original workbook. How can I tell the macro that the csv file that I just opened should be the active workbook, baring in mind that the name won't be known before the time it's opened so I can't hardcode the "active. workbook (NAME) "route.
I have one column with a list of 2000 rows like this

I want to do is put all those lines of text / rows into one cell with the word "or" between each phrase. In other words in one cell all the above should be made into "apple or banana or carrot or dog or elephant or fish or goat or hat" . There should be no breaks.

I have some text that I am having to analyze which comes out of our computer looking like this:
N/0/N/Y/N/N/N/N/N/N/N/N/N/N/N/N/N
I use the text to columns function and headers above it to translate what each field is.
As I'm doing my testing if I do this once, I can keep the file open and any time I paste a similar entry in it takes care of the formatting.
But, is there way to make the file do that permanently? I want to let the other testers use it without making them have to go through the steps of clicking on the delimiter, etc.
I track inventory/sales for a very small sole proprietorship. I'm looking to track the number of items that I sell based on the text that I enter in a certain column.
Specifically, I want to have a visual chart/graph to show the percentage of each size/color of an item that I sell, as I sell it. When I enter the words "3T pink" I want the chart/graph/whatever to show another quantity of this category. As I sell a new item, I want the chart to reflect it.
The problem I'm having, is that the graphs/charts require two data sets, but I want the graph to calculate it for me! All I want to do is enter the text for specific items, and when the text occurs subsequent times, I want this reflected in the graph/chart.
It seems so much more simple in my head....basically I want a dynamic chart, not based on a static data set.
I have a workbook of contracts that I have designed in excel. Each worksheet tab/title is the contract number, i.e. 3487. On each individual contract I have the contact name, address etc. Each cell/field is in the same position on every contract. In other words, every B1 is the Group name, every B2 is the first name, every C2 is the last name, etc. What I'm trying to do is to make a new page with all of the contact info on it so I can make labels etc. I hope this is clear.

In cell X25 is written "B9" and in cell Y25 is written "M39".
Now i want to make a selection by a macro from cell B9 to cell M39.
I have a workbook with a data entry sheet.
The name of the data entry sheet is 'Enter Data Here', and my employees will be filling in information in columns A to U.
I want to be able to accomplish 2 things.
1) When an employee opens the file, he/she is not able to edit any non-blank cells in columns A to U.
2) Employee is able to add data to a new row in columns A to U, and is able to edit this until they press 'SAVE'
Is this possible?
I have a big Excel file that is supposed to be used by many users and therefore I need some cells locked. But problem is I use these cells in my vba codes which the users must be able to run by using the buttoms in the file. But now I get error in every macro since the cells the code are trying the reach is locked. Can I make an exception for vba codes in some way so that I can run my macros?
