View 1 Replies View RelatedI have below macro for Sheet2 and i have created a button on Sheet1.now whenever i press this button the macro will run and save Sheet2 as PDF file.
The problem is when i hide Sheet2 the macro doesnt work and it gives an error " Invalid procedure call or argument.
how to make this macro run even when the sheets are hidden ?
Sub PDF_Table()
'Sheet2.PageSetup.PrintArea = "$a$1:$x$140" '*****
'*** can remove the above line if sheet areas are already set and will not be altered
With Sheet2.PageSetup
.CenterHorizontally = True
.CenterVertically = True
.Orientation = xlPortrait
.Zoom = 60
[code]...
This first macro works fine:
Sub UnhideHBPorCholesterolQ1toQ3()
'
ActiveSheet.Unprotect "password"
Rows("58:67").Select

why the second macro does not seem to work. I get a Run-time error that says "Unable to set the Hidden property of the Range Class".
The following block of code is evaluating the term in the array, if it exists and the value in col. M is a non integer, (which what I am testing for are fractions) then format the cell to a fraction number format.
That is ok, except it is changing the numberformat on text terms. I want it only to change the numberformat on numeric values.
I added the function Isnumeric to this line:
Isnumeric(cells(i, "M").value) Int(cells(i, "M").value)
which I thought would only evaluate numeric cells only, but this was unsuccessful.
Original Code: Unedited.
For i = 4 To LRowf
For Each Item In Array("HAT", "FTWR", "BOOT", "BOOTG", "BOOTY", "HWRISR", "HWBLTS")
On Error Resume Next
If (Cells(i, "F").Value = Item Or Cells(i, "G").Value = Item) And _
Cells(i, "M").Value Int(Cells(i, "M").Value) Then
Cells(i, "M").NumberFormat = "# ?/?"
On Error GoTo 0
Exit For
'End If
End If
Next Item
Next i
I previously had a query resolved in this forum when I was trying to write data to multiple sheets but the requirements have now changed and I need to update the script.
I have a multi-sheet workbook that calls a routine to rewrite sheet4 based on values in sheet1 each time sheet4 becomes the active sheet. This script makes single line entries or double line entries in sheet4 depending on whether data appears in one or both of a two specific data cells (col:J,K) in sheet1. However I now need to manually input extra data items into blank cells (col:B,C,J) in sheet4 and retain those data items after input, but each time I make sheet4 the active one it clears the contents of all the cells including the data that I have entered into cols B,C,J. Is there a way of fixing cols B,C,J on sheet4 so that they are not cleared when sheet4 is activated. Or is there a way of writing just the the additional lines added to sheet1 since the sheet4 was previously activated rather than clearing all the data lines written previously into sheet4 and rewriting them all from scratch each time the sheet4 becomes the active one.
I think you will need to see the workbook that I am working on to see how the sheets link and a zipped blank version is attached.
I have used the below code to make hide/unhide some columns in my excel sheet. It works fine. Now, I need to protrect the sheet except the coloured cells. So I unlocked the cell by clicking the property of the colored cells & then did this :- tools- protection-Protect sheet - protect unlocked cells. But after protecting this sheet the macro code of hiding/unhiding of the columns are NOT WORKING & Errors is coming. I have used the below code:-
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have placed the code I am using below. It takes values from a hidden sheet (PACTAct) and places them on a visible sheet (Email). The code moves between the two.
It works at the minute by unhiding the PACTAct sheet then at the end re-hiding it. However I don't want the user to see this sheet whilst the vba is running. Is there a way I can simply refer to the worksheet without unhiding it?
I am trying to design a tool which dynamically results in different cells depending on users inputs. Yet, I am willing to protect most of the cells to avoid any user involuntarily (or voluntarily!) modifying the formulas/contents of the calculated (and locked) cells. Is there any way to protect my sheets, allowing only a certain macro to modify the locked and protected cells?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI copied the sheet and redid the format. I renamed the original dashboard sheet from count to "keep" and named the copy after the original "count" Everything still works great - until i either hide or delete the original count which is now named "keep". I get an error at the red colored line below ".publish false".
I have attached an image of the error....
Is it possible to protect a hidden worksheet. I do not want them to be able to unhide the sheet unless they know a password to do so.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if it was possible to hide cells using protect sheet? I have a worksheet that contains confidential data and would like it so the cells appeared blank unless you had the password. I know you can hide rows and columns but I need everything on the sheet to be hidden.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had to remove a lot of pictures in the xls file in order to attach it, (since the original is about 5.3mb) but it worked out. When you move your arrow over the titles in column A a picture shows up thanks to a code. When you change the status in column G, the color changes together with the title in column A, as it should.

Is there anyway around this?
Basically all the sheets are hidden from the user except for the Entry sheet. They input there data on there and then they press a send command button which then needs to copy that information to a hidden sheet. This is where the problem occurs.. Thought maybe their was a way around that or do I need to unhide the sheets during the macro and then rehide them again?
I am looking to publish some workbooks to the masses as a mht (single web file), but I had a couple of questions before I did that:
Is it possible to have a hyperlink to a hidden or very hidden page in the same workbook?
or
Is it possible to hide some rows and have the hyperlink unhide those rows when selected?
Also, will the areas be exposed when opening the .mht?
I have a range of cells in a work sheet "sheet 1 " my objective is to filter this range according to certain criteria (i ve succeeded to do this ) yet what i want to do now is copy this data to another existing worksheet in a certain range .
note :the existing worksheet to which i 'll copy the filtered data has some cells out of the range that i dont want to over write ..
Simply :how to copy a selected range of cells in a work sheet to already existing work sheet in a specific range aswell .
I have a sheet that is password protected. I have this code attached to a command button. It will unlock the worksheet, autofilter it, print it, unfilter it, and password protect the sheet again. However it is protecting it without a password. I need to have it protected with the password so that someone will not be able to just go to tools to unprotect the sheet.
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
ActiveSheet.Unprotect "rainforest"
Columns("O:O").Select
Selection.AutoFilter
Selection.AutoFilter Field:=1, Criteria1:=">0", Operator:=xlAnd
ActiveWindow.SelectedSheets.PrintOut Copies:=1, Collate:=True
Selection.AutoFilter Field:=1
Selection.AutoFilter
ActiveSheet.Protect DrawingObjects:=True, Contents:=True, Scenarios:=True _
, AllowSorting:=True, AllowFiltering:=True
End Sub
I am want to copy a formula across several work sheet and have the formula always take data from previous work sheet.
2) I am working with this formula =C12+INDIRECT((MID(CELL("filename",A1),FIND("]",CELL("filename",A1))+1,256)-1)&"!"&"C12")
and it comes from this thread http://www.excelforum.com/excel-gene...orksheets.html. I have included a worksheet attachment that has explanations
I'm trying to rewrite our commission spreadsheet with a new structure and as my excel knowledge is limited, I'm not really getting anywhere.
I'm looking for a few lines of formula however I'll just post one at a time otherwise I'm in danger of scaring you all off!
Firstly, I am trying to work out the formula for the following:
If the value in C7 is up to £14,999 = 1.5% of the whole value is given, if it's over £15,000 = 3.5% of whole value is given. I would like the total amount of commission to show in F7.
I am using Excel 2010 and I have a password protected workbook with password protected sheets that uses several macros. Most of them, in order to run, have to un-protect the sheet and then re-protect it again. This has been accomplished easily enough by adding ActiveSheet.Unprotect Password:= "mypassword" and ActiveSheet.Protect Password:= "mypassword" to the appropriate places in the script. All of my macros, which do various things like sorting and moving data, deleting blank rows, displaying dialog boxes containing warning messages etc. run fine.
My problem is this: when I password protect the sheets manually, I have checked the following options in the "Protect Sheet" dialog box. Under "Allow users of this worksheet to" I have checked 1)Select unlocked cells and 2)Format cells. After entering my password and closing the dialog box my sheet is protected, but I can edit cells in the manner my allowances permit. However, once I run any of the macros that un-protect and re-protect the sheet, I remain able to select and edit unlocked cells (practically, for my purposes, this means that I can input data which will appear in the default font size and color of the sheet) but I cannot format cells (which, practically, for my purposes would allow me to occasionally change the font color and size of the data). Naturally, after running a macro, the other cell-formatting options are unavailable to me as well. Is there any way to get my manual selections to remain in place after running a macro that functions as mine do? Or is there any way to make my manual selections the default settings for a protected sheet?
I have a workbook with a hidden sheet ("Template") and a visible sheet("New Job"). I need code so when cell F1 in "New Job" is populated:
1-the sheet is renamed to the value of F1,
2-a new tab is made (a carbon copy of the hidden sheet "Template")
3-the new tab is named "New Tab" and marked as unhidden.
Public Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
ActiveSheet.Name = Range("F1").Value
End Sub
Function WorksheetExists(SheetName As String, _
Optional WhichBook As Workbook) As Boolean
Dim WB As Workbook
Set WB = IIf(WhichBook Is Nothing, ThisWorkbook, WhichBook)
On Error Resume Next
WorksheetExists = CBool(Len(WB.Worksheets(SheetName).Name) > 0)
End Function..................
I want a sheet to copy and paste into another worksheet, I have that code and its working fine, but what I also want to do is for the sheet to be protected,so the code would be, copy, unlock, paste, lock, save.
Here is the code I have so far. I know i have to include ActiveSheet.Unprotect "passowrd" ActiveSheet.Protect "password", but I dont know where to include that last part of the code.
I have this code that first selects a sheet (data) and then imports a csv-fil to the data sheet.
I want to hide the data sheet and the the code doesn't work.
How do I change the import code so that I do not select the sheet?
[Code] ......
I believe it should be something like this: With Sheets("DATA").QueryTables. Add..... but I am not aware of the syntax.
I have a userform which clones the latest sheet and produces copy of it on the next sheet. The first sheet they will be cloning is the sheet called 'template', I however want this to be hidden since I do not want anybody to modify a sheet which basically serves purpose of a template. And once cloned, it is no longer needed.
On the click of the command button, the macro will create sheet1 taking the info from sheet named 'Template' in the same workbook . And now on the next click of the command button, Sheet 2 is created taking the info from sheet1 and Sheet 3 is created taking the info from Sheet 2 and so on. Here is what I currently have, so how can i modify it in order for my scnerio to work?
To select the last sheet in the workbook
Code:
Sheets(Sheets.Count).Select
To create new sheet
Code:
Sheets(Sheets.Count).Copy After:=Sheets(Sheets.Count)Sheets(Sheets.Count).Name = MyEvent & " " & MySCN & "(" & ThisWorkbook.Sheets.Count - 2 & ")"
I have a button on a sheet that runs a macro to unhide another sheet. That works, but I want the sheet made visible to remain forward. Instead, the button unhides the sheet and the sheet the button is on comes forward again. I am unable to figure how to keep the sheet made visible forward. Here is the macro 'as recorded'.
Sub UnhideSheet1()
Sheet2.Visible = True
End Sub
is there any hard code out there that protects formulas in a cell
i have a sheet with formulas down a column
that used once disappear
is there any way to code this so they are always there?
Is there a way to protect a VBE project using a macro instead of going to the properties and manually typing in a password? I'm using a macro that emails just one worksheet in my workbook (creates a new temp file, emails, and deletes it) but when the new file gets to the recipient the VBE project is unlocked.
I found a way to protect the worksheet before saving the temp file, so the worksheet is protected as it should be, but the project explorer window is completely open. Then anybody can see the passwords I'm using to protect the sheet in the first place. So I need to somehow re-protect the project before it saves and emails.
I would like to protect the VBA modules I have written in a spreadsheet. Is there any way of password protecting these (as there is with Excel workbooks/worksheets) -such that users can not see the VBA code unless they enter a password?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI understand that we can protect the VBA coding through check the "Lock project from viewing in the Tools>VBAProject Properties. However I'll still need to open some of the code for other users to customize the program while some of the important code are protected.
