I currently have a VB macro written where under certain conditions user forms are shown for the user to select options, display messages, etc. When any of these forms are on the screen, and someone drags them, the menu image is 'dragged' across the screen. Is there a way from preventing this from happening?
Added pictures of the items to include on quotes (the pictures are in a column to the right of all the other details - (these pictures only exist in Excel)). Our new quoting software tool needs a link to the filename - however, our pictures don't have logical filenames!
Is there a way we can do a batch save as of all these images so it ends up as 'part#'.jpg within folder X?
There are about 6,000 products and will be a bit of zombie work we don't really want to do!
I need a macro that will export a text box as a high quality image, preferably .png. The code below copies and pastes the text box to a chart sheet and exports it as a .png, but the image quality is very low - under 100 dpi. Is there any way to export the image with high quality?
Code: Sub createtextimage() ' Adding text to textbox Dim q As String
I need to link an image to a cell value and display the selected image in a new sheet of the same excel. I am attaching samplefile for easy reference. The requirement is, from the workout sheet when I select from drop down list, then the corresponding cell value appears in Parameter sheet in C9 cell.
There are four images copied in Parameter excel. The given image has to be selected and linked to the C9 cell value. Based on the selection that particular image should be shown on Sample Picture sheet. Here based on the selection only the image should reflect here.
My workbook simply has multiple columns of data which will be summarized visually in a tag cloud (I have the tag cloud part taken care of already creating either a jpg or png, I simply have to change the extension within a batch file to change between picture formats)
I need to have the tag cloud image display and update depending on which column the user would like to summarize (for now I have simplified the issue by only having one of the data columns in my workbook, and will worry about the user selection of the data column to be summarized later).
My Main Question:
Focusing on the image display and updating now, whether it be an ActiveX Image Control or any other way. I've been playing around manually before I try and code it and I can not get either a jpg or png file to attach to the ActiveX control (both of which cause an Invalid Picture Message).
The file name can stay the same if need be and for now I think/assume that'd be easiest (I have my Tag cloud generator just replacing the previously existing image file of the same name).
Would ActiveX control be the way to go for this dynamically changing image?
I am looking for a way to take the picture name associated with an image ie: (picture 571) and place that picture name in the cell next to the image.
I can see the picture name - it registers in the top left box that usually indicates the cell the cursor is on... and I could manually type that name next to each image.
However my spreadsheet has several thousand rows- each with several columns of information and an image..
I am looking for a way "formula?" to automatically read the image in cell J4 and populate cell K4 with the image name... and so on.
The reason for my request... is I am importing products into a web based shopping cart... to do so I have to export the products to a csv and import that csv into the shopping cart. The process of exporting to a csv- strips away all the images and leaves just data.
I found that I can save the document as an html and that process creates a folder with all the images- saved as (picture 571.jpg) if the resulting csv had the image name... the shopping cart would then look for that image name in my image file and it would populate into the shopping cart appropriately.
This seemed on it's face like a really simple thing to do, I have plenty experience with excel & I thought I'd be able to make cell k4= j4 and tada it would glean the image name & I could simply copy that formula all the way down the sheet & it would be done... but I just cant find the magic button that freely gives up the image name...
I have a number of image controls on a user form, each being loaded with an image from file.
Image1 being loaded with a picture of a bus image2 being loaded with a picture of a school
And so on
Now what I am trying to do is when that image is clicked the name of that image is passed to a textbox
So the action would be
1 image of bus loaded into image control1 , the name of that image being bus.jpg 2 image is clicked 3 the name bus.jpg appears in a text box
Here is what I have so far
Private Sub Image1_Click() DataInput.TextBoxItem.Value = bus.jpg
DataInput.TextBoxItem.Value= Image1.Name - this does not work
Which works but as you can see this is static, as I have supplied the value , were as I would like the clicking action to pick up the name of the jpeg being displayed
So expanding upon this if say image1 is loaded with say a picture of a car instead of a bus
LValue4 = "E:Car.jpg"
Image1.Picture = LoadPicture(LValue4)
Now when it is clicked the name of the image being displayed in image control1 would be Car.jpg
And it is this value I wish to transfer to a text box for now will do more with it later
In addition to this I am not sure if the best idea is to have a number of image controls and load each with an individual picture or have one image control and swap the picture by clicking a command button
Is there a way to have image box display an image with a name matching data from a cell? example: if I type "hello" in cell a1, Image box will load image named "hello". And display new images by changing the name in cell a1. Note: the images will be located in a permanent folder.
I'm just looking to prevent users from using the print screen or the alt print screen buttons on the keyboard. I have this script that works if I use "39" (Right Arrow)but wont work if I use "42" (Print Screen Button).
I am trying to display an image ("image") on an image control ("Image1") placed in a worksheet ("Sheet1"). The problem is that I want this action to take place when I press a button in a user form. I am trying to use the following code, but it seems that VBA does not recognize the image control ("Image1") in the worksheet.
Private Sub cmdDisplayImage_Click() Dim image As Variant image = ThisWorkbook.Path & "sun.jpg" Sheets("Sheet1").Activate Image1.Picture = LoadPicture(image) End Sub
I have a spreadsheet that imports data, manipulates it then deletes 2 of the sheets then saves the file under a different name to the network. Is there any way to save this new worksheet without it storing the macros - so when the user open it, only the data is there and they get no prompt to enable macros?
I have created a form in a worksheet which I have added questions too and then locked all cells except the ones where I want the answers in.
I have then added a button to the bottom of the sheet called "Print and Save". This work sheet is called "form"
On a second sheet called "database", I have all the titles of the questions running from a -> k and nother else.
What I want to happen is the user input the information on "form" into the boxes available. Once they have completed the questions, I want them to be able to click on "Print and Save" so that firstly the page "form" prints, and then for all of the answers to be saved in "database" below the titles for each question.
I have had a play, but just don't know where to start. Also, once there is a row of questions below the titles, I don't want it to overwrite information already there, it needs to go onto the next empty row available.
Attached is my excel file.
You will see in the code that I have the code for printing.. I just found this on the net and it seems to work fine for me.
I did the restart our company required and when Excel reopened it was on my laptop rather than the big screen. I run 2 screens. Excel 2003 is now so far up on the laptop screen, I cannot move it. I can barely see File, Edit, View, etc. How can I drag Excel down so I can resize it?
Is there a way to disable updating to the screen but have a message displayed to the user while a macro is running? Something like a userform displayed on the screen or a message in the status bar. I vaguley remember you could "print" message to the status bar in LotusScript, wondering if there is something similar in Excel.
Application.ScreenUpdating = False "the macro is running, hang tight" ...macro code in here... Application.ScreenUpdating = True
I have a large workbook with about 20 worksheets that I have used for several years without problems. Recently, I have been getting strange behavior when the screen refreshes. The biggest problem is that I get images of other worksheets covering my current worksheet when I change a cell. I can make them go away by scrolling or flipping between another worksheet and back. I have tried using manual recalc and this has helped somewhat but I can still get the images sometimes. The workbook contains VBA that performs various tasks on every worksheet (unlock, update pivots...) but these have been in there forever. There is also one piece of code that performs advanced filtering. I can only think there was something changed with a security patch, but I wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue and might be able to provide some advice on how to prevent it.
stretch" the userform to fit the height and width fo the screen. I dont want to simply change the height and width of the userform, i want the controls within the userform to stretch with the userform so that it looks the same, just fullscreen. this is what ive found by googling:
VB: With Application .WindowState = xlMaximized Zoom = Int(.Width / Me.Width * 100) Width = .Width Height = .Height End With
however, this just stretches it to match the width of my screen, but doestn consider the height, so that if i have a widescreen vs a square screen it will cut off the bottom of my userform. It would be great if there was a zoom type featur that zooms the vertical and horizontal dimensions seperately... more like a stretch than a zoom.
Been trying to figure out if there's a way to keep sub-headers visible at the top of the screen.
Basically I want the main headers locked at the top (via freeze panes), but then I also want certain rows, which would be sub-headings, to stick to the top of the screen until the next sub-header row gets to the top of the screen, at which point that row would replace the other one at the top.
The best example I can provide of the behavior I'm looking for is on the iPhone Contacts list. When you scroll through the contacts you see the listings, but as you scroll into each new letter that particular letter's sub-heading stays stuck at the top of the screen until you scroll down to the next letter.
So example would be: Quantity Item Price (this would be the header row locked to the top via freeze panes) PRODUCE 1 Apple $1 6 Orange $1 8 Pear $2 DAIRY 1 Cheese $5 7 Milk $2
So if you scrolled the above list down PRODUCE would stay at the top even while the Apple, Orange, and Pear lines scrolled off the screen, then it would get replaced with DAIRY when DAIRY reached the top of the screen.
I have 2 workbooks open. In the workbook that I am working in I run a macro from a userform to copy a worksheet from the other workbook that is idle in the back ground. I also display another user form that says "please wait" while the macro is running.
The problem I have is even though screen updating is set to false the screen switches over to the other workbook while it is copying the desired sheet and switches back to the workbook I am copying to after the macro completes. Also the "Please Wait" userform disappears while the other workbook is displayed and reappears when the initial workbook returns.
Below is my code which works without issue but perhaps there's a better way to copy between workbooks that would prevent the screen changes?
I need to improve this project i've created. right now this project is an Exam for our agents. You can try it first if you want. I've attached the file below.
I need putting a timer that will compute the seconds or minutes it took the agent to finish the exam. timer should start after they click "Take the ETP" button. And finally, creating a screen / a pop-up that will show the ff example.
EXAMPLE: Name of Examinee Answer: 1. A = Correct 2. B = Incorrect 3. A = Correct 4. C = Correct 5. D = Incorrect
