Search The Users Signature Folder For Microsoft Outlook
Aug 9, 2007
To search the users signature folder for Microsoft Outlook see if the have any .htm files, if so list them in a message
Make the print find the default printer work out if it is black and white or colour and find the nearest opposite printer. i.e. if default is colour find nearest black and white
Protect a sheet but allow tabbing from certain cells to others.
Enable the users to use the workbook without having to rely on their macro settings being Low.

I'm creating an excel file that can email itself inside the body of a HTML in Outlook. I have found some code from the web and have re-fitted it so that I may use it for my purpose. My main issue is this: I cannot keep my default Outlook signature on the email when it gets sent.

I'm trying to identify a way of setting up a booking system for some meeting rooms we have at work. Always looking for a way of simplifying something that soaks up one of my colleagues time.
I read this post about a golf booking system and it looks like it could be adapted to suit, I can imagine a different worksheet for each room and the fields for entry on choosing the timeslot being the meeting title, who booked and a contact number and the slot showing the meeting name when hovered over possibly.
I noticed a similar thread about Outlook, I know nothing about this sort of stuff within Outlook and not sure it may be possible. I am just in my infancy with hyperlinks and macros and do not feel confident enough to start there as I do not know where to begin. Keen to learn and would love to figure out and play around within a program; learn best this way.

I'm looking at publishing a number of spreadsheets to the Public Folders section on our local Microsoft Exchange Server.
In Excel I can select File > Send To > Exchange Folder...
but I was wondering if there is a way to automate this in a macro?
I would also like to specify a folder it should be posted?

I have a networked spreadsheet that users access, process data, and then e-mail the results to a common recipient.
Until recently we have all been on Lotus Notes - and my e-mail VBA worked OK.
However, some users are now using Outlook (the new Corporate standard) while some remain on Lotus Notes. The Lotus Notes users now say the e-mail part of the process no longer works for them.
Can VBA detect whether users are on Outlook or on Lotus Notes?
Should I give them a prompt - "Which e-mail do you use? Enter L for Lotus Notes or O for Outlook" - and if they answer L then use specific Lotus Notes VBA for the e-mail process or if they answer O use Outlook-specific VBA?

Anyway to use VBA to print an Excel sheet with the Microsoft Document Image Writer to a specified folder automatically? I understand and use automatic printing all the time, but I don't know how to use VBA to specify the filename and folder once it prints with the Document Image Writer.
Is it possible to do?

I currently have a spreadsheet setup on a Macro to send & distribute a message from an 2007 Excel file to multiple users through Microsoft Outlook 2007. It is currently setup to send as an attachment. I need to find a way to have this file be sent as a PDF file. I know you can save Excel as PDF's so there must be a way to send them & attach them to as a PDF.

My directory has folders named: "A051 - Watson", "A052 - Gila Bend", "A065 - Tompkins"... etc; but I want to designate which folder to put the summary workbook in by the first 4 characters in the folder names(A051,A056,A055...etc) Let me know if I made it clear enough.

What I've got: This code allows the user to pick one (sub)folder - the MailItem properties of the folder are then printed to the sheet.
[Code] .....
My goal: Rather than allowing the user to pick one folder, I'd like to set up a hardcoded array of five subfolders found in a shared inbox. The hierarchy is as follows:
[Code] .....
The thing is, I have huge problems with referring to any of the red subfolders above. I think I'm able to point to the shared inbox if I substitute .Pickfolder with this, but then I'm stuck! I need to go down two levels in the hierarchy.
[Code] ......
I should be able to produce an array by myself so if I at least just could get a pointer on how to refer to one single folder that would be truly awesome.

I found some code on here the other day which will do though all the files in a folder and send them to a zip file which works great how to zip a single fixed file. I down load files from our oracle system daily and need to keep them but want to keep the file size down.
Code:
Sub ZipPackage()
Dim ZipFile, TargetFolder, NewFileName, ofile
Dim o As Object
[Code]...
But the "ofile" doesnt contain the file type. Is there away to adjust this code so it recognises what the file type is?

But if you search "NewSearch method" in the MS Excel Help you can find that the application exists and it has the same morphology I am using!! Why Doesn't it work??
With Application.FileSearch
.NewSearch
'Change path to suit
.LookIn = pPath
.FileType = msoFileTypeExcelWorkbooks
.Filename = "*.xls"
If .Execute > 0 Then 'Workbooks in folder

I don't seem to be able to combine the looping through a set of workbooks with the IsFileOpen function posted by microsoft.
Basically this code works if the foundfile(j) is closed, but if it is already open I cannot activate the foundfile(j) and make it do things.
I'm not posting the ISFileOpen function because already present inside the forum and the rest of the code because it's too long...
With Application.FileSearch
.NewSearch
' . ScreenUpdating = False
.LookIn = MyPath(40)
'* represents wildcard characters
.FileType = msoFileTypeExcelWorkbooks
If .Execute > 0 Then 'Workbook exists
For j = 1 To .FoundFiles.Count
If IsFileOpen((.FoundFiles(j))) Then
'neither of these three options work

Next I

I am using Excel 2007 so I CANNOT use application.filesearch.
With that said, I need to change one of my old macros that searched for the newest file within a specified folder, and then display the name of that file in a message box that gives the person an option of opening the file. I've read too many workarounds for application.filesearch and I'm not sure how to combine them all into something I can use.
Normally I have a bit of code to start with, but this one has me so baffled I don't know where to start.
