Share Worksheet Base On User/password
May 31, 2006I have a workbook which contains multiple worksheets of employees' information. I'm hoping to share this workbook out. Each employee only able to view and update their own worksheet and their manager, being able to view/update everything within the workbook.

-It does not have any lists, that I know of, do not know how to see if there are any
-It does have validation, but I have other workbooks with listed validation that are shareable
-It is not protected
-Does not have any named ranges
-Is not read only
-I have saved it as another file name and no luck there
-I have copied the one sheet I really need into a separate file to try that it did not work,

Mar 2, 2014I have a master data sheet with the structure as below: I need a few of the columns (i.e. not all) to be copied to another (filter) sheet (starts from Row 20 say). The "notes" column should be fed back to the master list. If the condition changes in the master list, the entire row (including the data entered in notes) should be removed on the filter sheet.
The filter sheet structure is as below:
I initially used Index, Small, Countif to pull data to the filter sheet but could not "input" into the cells as they all held formulas in order to copy to the new sheet.

I have a spreadsheet which contains 2 drop down pick lists in Field1 and Field2.

In Cell A2, I have this set in Data > Data Validation:
Allow: List
Source: =CatList
If the user selects a value from the CatList range, then the drop-down options in Field2 are updated accordingly.
In Cell B2, I have this set in Data > Data Validation:
Allow: List
Source: =INDIRECT(A2)
The Ranges are as follows:

I'd really like to be able to add a message into FIELD3, which is based on the value in Cat2
e.g. using pseudocode, something like:
If Field2 value = "Apologies" then put this message in Field3: "This requires approval from A"
elseif Field2 value = "Triangle" then put this message in Field3: "This requires approval from XYZ"
elseif Feidl2 value = "Bat" then put this message in Field3: "This does not require approval"
Basically this is for an access form, and I need to be able to add a feedback message to field3 based on what's in Field2.
I thought about using the INDIRECT option to add messages but I can't see how I'd do it. Maybe VB would do it, but I don't know it well enough.
Worksheet Change Not Working
Apr 29, 2009I have a worksheet that needs a lot of inputs to calculate something for the user. However one of the inputs is the date. I wrote code to insure that the date entered is only a 4 digit integer number (i.e. 2009). However I want this code to be used only if a certain cell (Cell(3,3)) is modified. Right now if the user enters anything in any cell this code brings a pop not just for cell(3,3).

The problem I'm having is that the code isn't actually looping through the workbook - it's replaying over and over again on the same worksheet. I figure this is an easy fix but this figure is as useful as dog clues to ants.

VBA Not Working On Another Worksheet When Protected
May 20, 2012I have the following code which works fine when Sheet1 is unprotected (The code is placed in Sheet3)
however if I protect sheet1 then the code does not work

Worksheet Function Not Always Working?
Sep 24, 2012I've written some code to try to count the number of cells that are not empty and save the result as a variable but sometimes the code seems to think that the cells are empty even though they are not.
The code goes through rows 1 at a time and counts the quantity of cells that are not blank and compares them with a couple other values.
The strange thing is if I execute the actual function =COUNTA(with the range that I am selecting below) the COUNTA function works properly by itself in certain problematic sections of the worksheet.
This code below seems to work correctly most of the time but I've found a few instances where it is not properly counting non-blank cells:

Hidden Worksheet Macro Not Working
Jun 26, 2006saw the other posts about hidden worksheets and couldn't get my makro to work. The macro works fine when the sheet in question is not hidden but when it is or when I tried to solve it with
Sheets(" total").visible = True

Sheets("total").Visible = False
Why could this be? The problem only occurs when the sheet is hidden or when code like the above are used, what could be done to fix the problem.

She has them in the same directory and has them both open, but when she tries to copy a sheet from either of them to the other, the only workbook listed in the "TO BOOK" drop down menu is the one she is in. NO other workbooks show up as an option for her to copy to.

Hide / Unhide Worksheet - Code Is Not Working?
Aug 4, 2014Within a worksheet "Page_2" I would like VBA to perform following calculation: IF(COUNTIF(R:R;1);1;2)
Basically, look into column R of worksheet "Page_2" and look if there is in the column at least one number with the value 1, if there isn't show me value 2.
Depending on the value coming out of this function, VBA needs to hide worksheet "Page_3" if the value is 2 and unhide worksheet "Page_3" if the value is 1.
Here is the code which I'm using and that is not working.

Worksheet Copy And Rename Not Working As Intended
Oct 11, 2009I've got a Workbook that contains the following worksheets:
1. conversion(2) - Hidden
2. Old Data - Hidden
3. Blank Form
I want to copy "Blank Form" once for each day of the month.
I'd like to rename each copied worksheet with the Date (i.e. Oct 01 2009)
Here's what I'm working with:

The problem I'm having is that the first sheet to be copied is the "Old Data" worksheet and the copy is renamed Oct-01-2009. After that the correct Worksheet is copied and renamed Oct-02-2009 and so on.
I can't figure out why it's copying the "Old Data" worksheet first.
Arrow Keys Not Working On Protected Worksheet
May 4, 2008Have a file that I have been coding and find when I open to a worksheet with limited access cells, the Up and Down arrows will not move vertically though Lrft and Right arrows OK though not raping arround. This problem may have been on for sometime and I haven't been back to it. Other Excel files all OK.

Mar 28, 2009I have written a user-defined function that searches for a small range within a larger range. The function requires two input parameters: the range you are looking for, and the range you want to look within.
For example, I might look for the string of values in cells A1:D1 in a larger range E1:H20. The function returns the row number in the larger range where the smaller range is found.
My problem is this: The function is working fine when I call it from another sub procedure. However, when I try to run it as a worksheet function, I get a "#VALUE!" error. The function pops up in the "insert function" menu, and it prompts for the two input parameters.
Formula To Sum Colored Cells Not Working Quite Right (worksheet Included)
Jul 14, 2009The formula itself seems to be working alright. It's on the post tab in cell R74. I modified it to temporarily to sum up a random group of cells, with half of them red and it worked correctly. The problem seems to be in the time calculation? Jennifer has 54.25 hours. The hours on Monday were coded in red and were not in the same group as the rest of her hours. So I need to extract the 9.5 hours from Monday, coded in red.
Unfortunately it comes back with a value of 31.5 hours. I see now how its getting that. The numeric values of cell C74 and D74 equal 1.3125 which is equal to 31.5 hours. How To Share Codes
Apr 1, 2008I have written a VBA code.
I thought I could just save it as an ADD-IN and then have my colleagues to add it, but that does not work. The macro will be stored in a seperate workbook and that is not what I want. I want them to be able to open any workbook and want them to be able to run the macro. I.e. everytime they open a workbook the macro should be available and be ready to run.

However I have added buttons onto this sheet and after running the code again it froze the program, in which I had to manually end. It gave an error afterwards however I don't remember what it said. Now everything I try to run or step through it, nothing happens. And I have turned Events and ScreenUpdating on.
I would also like to note that it won't allow me to perform actions like unhide sheets or unprotect them. The code has not been changed either so what has happened to disable all functionality.
