Copy Cell Contents Between Tabs Provided Cell References Match (VLOOKUP)
Apr 29, 2014I have 2 inventory reports: what my store has and what my supplier has. I need to copy Tab1:K# to Tab2:T# provided that Tab1:A#'s contents match Tab2:A#'s contents. The A column represents the SKU of the item, but there is a difference in the amount of SKU's in each (my store sells ~6,000 items, supplier has ~10,000 items), so it's not as simple as sort by column A and copy pasting column K to column T.
For instance:
On Tab 1, A2's value is [1], K2's value is [9.38].
On Tab 2, A70's value is [1], K70's value is blank, but I need it to be [9.38], to match Tab 1's respective SKU.
I almost thought I had it figured out with VLOOKUP, but I cant seem to get it right... It doesn't reference the correct number.

Jul 4, 2014I am currently using this Formula to Search a table on sheet 2 (Tabelle2) and copy the date in the relevent cell (Cells) into the correct cell on Sheet 1 (Master Sheet).

Used in cells E10:AZ30 and E33:AZ46
This works perfectly and is the formula behind all relevent cells in Sheet 1.
I would like to keep this but to add that it also copies the background color of the cell in Sheet 2 to the cell in sheet 1.
If i can Bring this Formula into VBA and add the color changing part, It must only work on the cells listed above..

Nov 17, 2012I am trying to use vlookup to locate a cell in another work book. The identifier is in the same workbook as the vlookup formula however the table and column to look within is in another. The identifier will also show up in the other work book where the table resides.

Dec 11, 2009I have a cell with the VLOOKUP function. I know that VLOOKUP searches down Column A until it finds what you told it to find, then returns the value of column you specify. The problem I am having is I will have the "item searched" listed more than one time and will need the sums of that item totaled.
My formula looks like this: =VLOOKUP(A63,March!$A$9:$G$42,7,FALSE)
For example, lets say that "Apples" are in A63. On the 4th of March I sell 4 apples, and on the 18th of March I sell 5 apples. I need the total in the formulated cell to read "9".
Vlookup And Drag Down Cell
Feb 18, 2010I would like cell D2 (on Sheet1) to default to the value of "EACH", unless the value is found on Sheet2 (column C). If it is found on Sheet2, then I want it to match the unit beside the respective upc code (see Col Q on Sheet1, and Col A on Sheet2) . Then I would like to be able to drag down cell D2 and all cells on Sheet2 would match and any that do not match, would be filled with "Each". Desired results are shown in attached example file.

Mar 14, 2012Currently I am using a VLOOKUP to return a value, and I am trying to apply a calculation formula to the returned value. Below are both the VLOOKUP formula, and the calculation formula. Each of the formulas works well while in separate cells, however am I able to combine the two formulas into one cell?
Formula1.
=VLOOKUP($G20,'P&L FEED'!$C$2:$K$100,2,FALSE)
Formula2.
=($D20/$I20)*(-$H20)
So first I am using the VLOOKUP to return a value from a range, and that returned value I want to apply the second formula to.
Is it possible to join both formulas into one cell? IF so, how?

I am trying to create a formula that will act like a vlookup but will return a different row. In other words, On page two I need to write a formula that says: In column 1 if you see "Extension 101" return column 2 of the row right beneath it, so on and so forth. So page two should return a mirror of what page one says, the difference is I would like people to type in "Extension 101" in a cell and it would return all the date.

Cell A1 would be typed in//Cell A2-A4 would be static//Cell B2-B4 would return these numbers based on info from A1.
Cell A1 would always be unique in column A (on both pages).

Nov 27, 2007I have 2 files: lets say FILE1.xls and FILE2.xls. In the FILE1.xls i fill in a cell with FILE2.xls name. I want to do a vlookup in the file 1 and to take the name of the file2 from the cell i have filled. for example =VLOOKUP(A1,'[FILE2.xls]Sheet1!$A:$C,3,0) this is the simple vlookup. What i am asking is that i take the file name from the cell. I tried like this: =VLOOKUP(A1,'[=B5]Sheet1!$A:$C,3,0) B5 is the cell with the file name "FILE2.xls". It sais that the name is not correct.
The reason i want to do this is because each day the file name is changed and i want to put in the refference cell the file name and do the vlookup using the file name in that cell.

Apr 3, 2014I have a spreadsheet with 51 worksheets - a "Master" worksheet and 50 datasheets (labelled 1-50). Within the "Master" worksheet the first column has numerical values ranging from 1-50.
One of the columns in the "Master" worksheet is a VLOOKUP that is trying to pull data, of which the table array is dependent upon the value in the first column. For example:
If cell A2 has the number 1 the VLOOKUP would be:
=VLOOKUP(E2,'1'!$A:$E,3,0)
If cell A2 had the number 2 the VLOOKUP would be:
=VLOOKUP(E2,'2'!$A:$E,3,0)
If cell A2 had the number 3 the VLOOKUP would be:
=VLOOKUP(E2,'3'!$A:$E,3,0)
etc.
Tried nesting an INDIRECT function with the VLOOKUP but it didn't work.

VLookup Cell Formats Don't Match
Jul 23, 2014I have a report which has list of outstanding invoices on Sheet1 and I enter invoice nos and Notes on to DATA sheet then by using Vlookup function I transfer the Notes to Sheet1 under "Notes Column K",
Some reason vlookup doesn't work because of the invoice number's format on Sheet1 doesn't match with the invoice numbers on the DATA sheet because they come from SQL server data base table,
So every time I refresh the Sheet1's data then I need to do Text To Colum on "Colum D" to make it work but this is not a solution because every time I refresh the Sheet1's data Vlookup formula doesn't work.
Is there a SQL formula that I can add to my SQL code which can automatically do Text to Column on the "Column D"?

Jun 18, 2009I am trying to do a vlookup and am having soem issues. I have data like this in the cell i am using as the reference: "60030 - COLUMBUS, OH". The first column of the range I am searching would have "60030" in it. What i need to know is how do I get the vlookup to just reference the first 5 digits in the reference cell? As you can see by the formula below, I set the logical value to true hoping that it would find the closest value, but it did not work. =VLOOKUP(A7,sdoalign,3,TRUE)

Oct 27, 2008I was wondering if there would be a way to use vlookup and still be able to type text in the same cell. For example, if the vlookup gives me a result of 123. I want it to also pull from a different cell that I've typed in 321. So the resulting cell would show 321-123 or 321 123. I have attached a sample sheet. On sheet two where the 3 items are, I want it to display 321-123 for item 1, 321-234 for item 2, and 321-345 for item 3. The 321 would be dependant on what I type into B1 on the first sheet.
