Centering The Active Object
Aug 30, 2006I have a basic data table with KPI labels down one side and dates across the top. Using this data table as the series source, I create a number of charts below it with serialised names eg Chart0, Chart1, Chart2, etc. I am attempting to enable the KPI labels so that when a user clicks it, the spreadsheet will navigate to the appropriate chart. I place the name value for the chart object in the cell immediataly to the left of each KPI label (and hide it). This way I know which chart object below is related to which KPI label above. That part works.
I have a Worksheet_SelectionChange() event procedure attached to the charting worksheet. When a user clicks into one of the KPI labels, the event procedure fires and the appropriate chart is activated. The code is:

Display Active Cell Color - No VBA
Apr 16, 2012Am trying to return the color index of any cell my formula is in, with no VBA
Am using the FILLCOLOR function below....

.... and wanting to combine it with Cell("address")
However, all I get is an error which I believe comes from Cell("address") returning "$A$1" (in quotes) and not $A$1 (no quotes).
Centering Object In A Cell?
Oct 29, 2013Every time I copy and paste a small object "jpg" or "png" into a cell it defauts in the cell to the left and top edge s of the cell. I would like the object to be centered in the cell. I can drag the object to "Close to Center", but I have green and red go/no go dots in 120 cell going downward I would would really like to see them aligned.

When I open the workbook it shows for about 1 second another sheet in the workbook rather than just instantly showing the "START" tab.
Is there any way to get over this to make this code 100% perfect?
I just really would love upon opening this workbook for the sheet that 1st comes into view to be the START SCREEN TAB, without any flash preview of another sheet.
Prevent Display Of Hyperlink Screen Tip
Feb 19, 2009I'm working with text boxes in Excel that have hyperlinks attached to defined names on a worksheet. Basically just to navigate around a large sheet.
They work fine, but when the mouse is hovered over the text box it automatically displays the address of the defined name, which looks messy and I want to get rid of it.
I have tried inserting a single space in the screen tip box, but that displays a small rectangular box. I have also tried "" hoping nullstring maybe interpreted as not to display, but it instead displays the speech marks.
Has anybody done this before? I've seen it done, but I have no idea how the model creator did it.
VBA Display Both Screen Resolutions For Dual Monitors?

Currently I have this code that displays the resolution on the main screen only:

Splash Screen - How To Display While Macro Runs
Sep 27, 2011I have a splash screen I want to display while a macro runs. I've created all the necessary code based on information from this site but have a question about where to actually put the code as all the example I've seen are based on workbook open events.
I tried placing my code
UserForm1.Show
with in the macro I waned the splash screen to be displayed during but that doesn't work. Well, it does, but not as I intended. The splash screen pops up for the specified duration as part of the macro stopping the macro, then closes and the rest of the macro finishes running.
Do i need to call the splash screen from a certain point in the macro I wish it to be displayed during? I dont want the macro to stop running while the splash screen is showing.

Excel Camera Tool - Print Preview Different From Display On Screen
Nov 27, 2012I have place a camera-picture of a table on the right side of a chart. On the screen it looks great! (See below - with some redaction)

.... but when I print it the table expands off of the side of the chart. Scale is 100%, zoom is 100%, Excel 2010 (See below - with some redaction). Whether or not I have a print area does not seem to make a different in the problem. Also, it appears that this happens with any shape I put in that place, it's not specific to the camera tool.

Create Search Facility That Will Run On Variable Functions And Display Information On Screen
Dec 23, 2013I have an excel file with a large amount of employee data in it and want to create a search facility that will run on variable search functions and display the information on the screen
I want to be able to enter variable search functions as follows:
Employee Number; shows all information on employee
Division: shows all employees in division (possible from a list of all divisions)
Appraisal Eligibility : Applicable shows all the applicable employees
Job Role: shows all the employees with the same job role (possibly from a drop-list of all roles)
I know its easier in Access, but all records in Excel as a legacy and don't have time to create an access database currently.

Active Hyperlink Display On User Form
Jul 7, 2006I have a Excel database and a userform to look-up reocrds. I want to be able to connect a Data Sheet which is a PDF file to every product in the daatbase.
I have created an additional column and created hypelinks in front of each product. these hyperlinks are connected to the datasheet of that product which is saved on the drive.
I have created a field on the userform to display the respective hyperlink when a record is searched by user.
My problem is that the user form displays the hyperlink name, but its dead.
I want users to be able to click on the hyperlink to view the attached Datasheet. I have tried using Textbox and labels to display this hyperlink,
Centering Text On ActiveX Button?
Apr 2, 2014I have searched high and low and cannot seem to find an answer. I have inserted an ActiveX button in a cell to run 3 macros when pressed. I cannot get the 4-letter name on the button to appear centered on the button, unless I make the button larger than the cell, which I do not want to do.

Excel 2003 :: Highlight Cell On Same Row As Active.cell Whenever Active.cell Changes
Dec 10, 2012whenever the active cell is within a given range, highlight the cell on the same row in column S (by changing its interior colour). This should occur each time the active cell is changed, whether by cursor keys or mouse. The effect would be similar to the row and column highlights at left and top of the worksheet.
This action should be restricted to one sheet in the workbook.
It's for Excel 2003.

Jun 8, 2014 I have got stuck on one piece of my code and having trouble fixing... Overall I am trying to find variable station name in cell L2 of Sheet 2 in Sheet 1 and then select and copy the data from the data in "cell L2 of Sheet 2" to the last entry of that row. I have attached an example test spreadsheet of the data and a macro is within Sheet 1 called test1. Please note that cell L2 in Sheet 2 will always be different station name and the station list in Sheet 1 will change with differing station name.

Cell Text Prints, But Isn't Seen On Screen
May 2, 2007For example, a cell on the screen is blank. When the page is printed, the "blank cell" has printed text.
I checked "format cells" and it shows word wrap, merge cells, and left to right.
I was told to "un-merge" the cells. I did that and I still have the problem.
The color on all the cells is OK at a blue shade. When I look at print preview the cells are blank, but when the sheet is printed, the text shows.
Also, it looks like there are 2-3 cells inside the main cell.
I hope I have explained this properly, it is not easy to use the correct language to describe since I am not very good at using Excel.
Calculate Screen Pixel Position Of Cell AA1
Jul 7, 2014I have an image overlapping a range of cells. I want this code to scan the pixel at the center of the cell, find out what color it is, and set the entire cell to that color, for each cell. Unfortunately with the GetPixel function I have to specify the x and y coordinates in terms of pixels from the top left corner of my monitor. The "CurrentCell.left & CurrentCell.top" method is not giving me the right location (Should start at cell AA1). If you would like, open up the file, go to sheet 2, insert an image, and click "Generate Field from Image". I set the cursor to follow the current position so you can see that it is selecting pixels from the corner of my monitor rather than cell AA1. Is there a way I can calculate the screen position of the top left of cell AA1?

Jul 14, 2009I have a range of amounts in Sheet 1 from F7:Q13 and im using the find method to search for the active and non active values in the cell. Which means that if there's a value in the cell it will transfer the value in Sheet 2, if nothing is found in the cell the cells in Sheet 2 will return as nothing or null.
I think the problem lies on the FindWhat variable. Im getting a compiled error which im not sure what is it.
I've attached the spreadsheet so you get a better idea of the problem that i encountered.

When I copy the tab and change some of the data within the cells, I want the macro refer to the chart on the current tab and the values in the current tab - as currently it refers to only "Chart 2" and the values in the tab 'Figure 2 - WE OPH'.
I've tried changing the sheet name to ActiveSheet.name but that doesn't seem to work.
