View 6 RepliesLet's say I have column C blank, but every time it's filled in with something I want column A to be today's date and B to be current time. Unfortunately, the functions NOW() and TODAY() don't give me what I want. They get recalculated every time that I update the spreadsheet.
Another thing that I can do is just press ctrl+shift+; to generate a non changing date/time, but I want it to happen automatically (being super lazy).
I was wondering if there was some way to auto update or resync values in data validated lists which are dependant on information in other cells.
I attach my spreadsheet. My list in Cell F32 changes depending on what has been selected in cell F31. However, my problem is that, until you select cell F32, it still keeps the previous value on display, if you know what I mean. So! What I would like to happen, is when I select a different option in cell F31, then I would like cell F32 to update and show the first available option from the new list?
I've made a drop down list and when I select multiple cells and choose from the drop down list, it only fills one. Here's pictures:
So in that first picture, I've selected multiple cells. But when I drop down the menu and click my selection, this happens:
Why is it that all the cells I've selected does not fill with the option that I chose from the drop down. I highly doubt that I have to manually click all the ones I want to fill with what I choose from the drop down list.
Everytime I try to create a date list in the dd.mm.yy format by using dragging down the only number that increases is the year. Is there any way to do this using the specified format.
List would be;
01.01.01
02.01.01
03.01.01
etc to the end of month 31.01.01
then go to;
01.02.01
02.02.01
etc....
I would like to auto fill the present date if another cell of the same row is typed in and then lock that cell with the date.
For example. If someone types in cell A2 then I would like to auto fill D2 with the date 11/01/2007 and lock it.
If someone tomorrow types in cell A3 then the date would once again be autofilled in D3 to 11/02/2007 while D2 would still display 11/01/2007.
Need formula for populate a cell with a date. I have a workbook with 5 sheets (mon, tues, wed, thur, fri) and I'd like to type a date on mondays sheet so all the other sheets follow on the date ie:
Noverber 1st 2008 is typed into sheet 1: A1, sheet 2 automatically displays November 2nd 2008, sheet 3 displays November 3rd, etc..
I know it's basic progression, but I'm not sure how to do it with date/text...
On sheet 1, I have dates in column A, then numbers under LabA through C. On sheet 2, I would like the contents of columns B, C, D to autofill when entered. However, I would like to display only the last entry. For example, Lab A (column B) is currently showing "7" in cell B6, if I enter a number in B7, I would like for sheet 2 to autoupdate cell B3 and display that new entry instead of the "7".

Worksheet B cell A3 Autofil uses (=ATR!F7) I want (=ATR!F9) Worksheet B cell A4 I want (=ATR!F12) How do I condition autofil to follow my chosen sequence ie F6,F9,F12,F15 etc...
In Column G I have a Drop down list of dates. In Column H I want to show the month for the dates, as per when they are selected. I tried simple doing in cell H2 "=G2" they changing the format of the cell for just the month. which worked but for the cells in H that haven't had a dates selected yet it brings back January-00 all the way down. I need a way of getting rid of the January-00 but having the cells ready so that wen the date in G is selected the month auto appears in H.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to auto-fill cells based on what I select from a drop down list.
For Example:
Drop Down List is located in A1(already created). Let's say it lists items like bathroom, front of building, dinning room etc.
I have created on sheet 2 a list of responsibilities for each item on the drop list. The list has a header for example bathroom and a below it list the responsibilities. I did this for every item on the drop list.
Now, is it possible to select bathroom from the drop down land when selected the list I created in sheet 2 show up in the cell next to bathroom? Also, is it possible to have this happen every time i select a different item from the drop down list?
I am trying to create a spreadsheet to record vehicle mileage at the end of each week, however sometimes we cannot input the information until 2 or 3 weeks later. I am looking for a way to auto fill specific cells when the user inputs the information using a userform. On the attached spreadsheet:
The first button input an 'Empty Row' ready for the new week and current mileage. The second button opens the userform to select the vehicle, date and input the mileage. I cannot figure out how to have the mileage inserted into the correct cell irrespective of when we insert the information.
how to auto fill of same value in different cells in a row?
For Example:
A1 D1 E1 G1 K1
10 10 10 10 10
like that when i hit a macro button the values in the A1 D1 E1 G1 K1 must fill with A2 D2 E2 G2 K2
I have this excel file with 5 columns on it and one of the columns is dependent on the four columns. I just want to automatically fill out the 5th column (Completed, In-progress and not yet started) based on the conditions set on the four columns. Although, the four columns have many conditions, it has been categorized with 3 colors. If all of the 4 columns are GREEN, 5th column will show Completed, If all of it are orange- Not yet started and if one of the columns had different color 5th column will reflect -In progress.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been working on a spreadsheet but I use autoformat for.
For example if the date in the cell matches today's date then it turns the text read and makes it bold.
I was wondering if there was a way to format several cells in a row if a certain criteria was met.
for example
A B C
1 Item Cost Quantity
2 Car £11,520 2
3 Bike £7,500 1
4 Tyres £50 4
Now for example if I set a condition whereas the quatity is greater than 3 then it would highlight the whole row.
So in the example above I would like to to highlight row 4 and Fill colour cells A4,B4 & C4 with a yellow background and Red Text and make the texted bold.
I am trying to make a calendar spreadsheet to enable me to track allowance payments i am due from my company.
This payment is worked out by three conditions - where i am working (7 regions), how many days of the week (4,5,6 or7) and how many hours (<7,8-9 or 10-12)
I have made drop down lists to select each of the values for the three conditions and want to show the total for them
i can total the entire spreadheet for the month up using fairly large "COUNTIF" statements, but i want to be able to show what the exact amount is in each cell not just a complete total.
i.e. i am away for 6 days i get £15 extra, if i am in Europe i get another £50 and if i work 12 hours i get £30.
I want to be able to calculate this total in each cell for that day.
I can send a copy of the spreadsheet i have got at the moment if that will make things clearer than what i have tried to explain.
Do not use validated drop down lists in merged cells.
It will only be a matter of time before it breaks Excel.
(Both 2007 & 2010)
Is there anyway to automatically fill the empty added cell after inserting a row without using the fill handle? For example, for a series of numbers: [URL]
2. Drag the fill handle Selected cell with fill handle across the range that you want to fill.
Or running balance: [URL]
2. Extend the running balance formula into the new rows by selecting the last cell in the balance column and then double-clicking the fill handle.
How is it possible to have Excel fill dates in cells, when i give the year and week number in other cells?
A1=YEAR (This will be Fillede out by user)
A2=WEEK (This will be Fillede out by user)
A3=Date for WEEKDAY1 MONDAY (This should be fillede out by excel)
A4=Date for WEEKDAY2 TUESDAY (This should be fillede out by excel)
A5=Date for WEEKDAY3 WEDENSDAY (This should be fillede out by excel)
A6=Date for WEEKDAY4 THURSDAY (This should be fillede out by excel)
A7=Date for WEEKDAY5 FRIDAY (This should be fillede out by excel)
I have to run reports every week where I show the number of days items are pending some sort of action. I use an autofill action in a macro but the number of rows changes every week. Here is the current section of my macro that I use. I just input a row number that I know will not exceed the number of rows required by my data (12900). What can I replace this with (Selection.AutoFill Destination:=Range("J2:J12900") so it will only fill the number of rows current filled in in either row I or K?
Range("J2").Select ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = "=R1C19-RC[-1]" Selection.AutoFill Destination:=Range("J2:J12900") Range("J1").Select Selection.Copy Columns("J:J").Select Selection.PasteSpecial Paste:=xlPasteFormats, Operation:=xlNone, _ SkipBlanks:=False, Transpose:=FalseApplication.CutCopyMode = False
I have a date in cell s1 that I subtract from the date in row "I". I then copy the result of row J and paste it as values.
I'm trying to use relative references and am have having trouble with selecting a range for the fill down command.
I'd like to copy a formula down in the last column from row 1 to the last row with data. Column D is static so I can always use it to find the last row. The last column will vary; sometimes it might be G another time it might be X. I'm able to get the formula entered into the proper cell but I can't figure out how to select the range for a fill down.
If I was not using relative references and cell X1 always had the formula then Id code it like this:
'*** Find last row with data
Range("D1").Select
LastRow = Range("D65536").End(xlUp).Row
'*** Calculate length of cell in previous column
[Code]....
It's the last range statement that stops me. I haven't come up with a variation that allows me to select a range from the cell on the first row of the last column and select the last row with data for the same column.
I have a task list that requires my staff to initial after said task is complete. I want them to initial column "C" Rows 12 thru 94 with the date auto stamping on column "D", same row numbers. Additionally, initials are also required in column "F" same rows as above and auto date in column "G". Am I wanting the imposible here??? I specifically want this only for rows 12 thru 94 because I do not want the time and date stamp in the "daily back up section."
View 12 Replies View RelatedBasically i am trying to auto populate cells using two dates as the parameters, set up is
A1 - Start Date
B1 - Finish Date
C1 - Jan 07
D1 - Feb 07
E1 - Mar 07....and this carries on across till the end of the year.
What i am wanting excel to do is to be able to put in a start date and finish date in to the relevant cells.....this then populates a fixed figure across in to the correct month.
Eg
start date 05/07/07
finish date 17/10/07
This then puts in the figure 0.2 in to each cell that correspond with each month....July 07/Aug 07/Sep 07/Oct 07.
So in effect it is giving a gantt chart but with data in it.
One more thing....the start and finish dates could well be out of the range.....
eg
so start could be 07/08/06 and end could be 18/04/07 which would mean that all of the fields would need populating.
I want to fill an array from values in range A1:H10. I want to fill the array with all rows in range and only columns B,C and E. I have the code below so far using index function.
Is there a more direct way to select all rows from desired range to avoid the need to create an array of rows from 1 to LastRow and then use Application.Transpose(RowsArr) (in red) inside Index()?
I'd like all Cells in column AC (e.g. AC$3$:AC$517$) to be filled with yellow fill if the cell value is any date greater than or equal to today. Any past dates can be left blank (for now)
=$AC3>=TODAY()
Any way to have the date auto increase 7 days when we drag/copy down the cells. For example, I have the following:
03/31/13
04/07/13
04/14/13
So, when I copy down (let say hundred cells down), the day should show 7 days apart. Is there a formula?
i have a set of data range from B1 to K10 (10 cells all together).
and i created a graph by selecting from B1 - K10.
what i want is, if i key in range from 1-10 in A1, the graph will change based on the number i keyed in (from 1-10).
if i keyed in 5 in A1, the graph will auto select B1 to F1 and show data from B1 toF1
then if i select 6 in A1, the graph will auto select B1 to G1 and show data from B1 to G1
I have a worksheet with a Drop Down list (Set up with Data Validation).
All I want to do is a call a procedure when a particular option is selected from the list, without have to run the macro manually.
I created a basic excel weekly budget and would like to know how much money I have as of todays date. on the top row I have a date range from Sunday to Saturday, so it looks like this:
09-15 16-22 23-29
with the month manually put in above it.
then below I have income and expenses with a Overall below that, so basically what I want to is see the Overall value based on todays date, not sure how to do this with the weekly range and automatic current date(which is =TODAY() as far as I know) I have attached a photo as a reference.
