View 3 RepliesI would like to create a macro to enable a user to enter the number of copies to print, and then print that number of copies of a predetermined range in a spreadsheet. My InputBox routine works fine, but I don't know how to use the info I just captured. The code I have so far is as follows, but I guess I don’t know where this number is stored, or how to use it in a print statement. Needless to say, this routine doesn’t print the number of copies entered by the user.
Sub TestPrint()
' Ask user to input the number of copies to be printed.
Dim Message, Title, Default, MyValue
Message = "Please enter the number of copies to print" ' Set prompt.
Title = "Number of copies" ' Set title.
Default = "2" ' Set default.
' Display message, title, and default value.
MyValue = InputBox(Message, Title, Default)
Sheets("PaidOut").Select
ActiveWindow.SelectedSheets.PrintOut Copies:=1, Collate:=True
End Sub
The below code opens up the printpreview window. This does not allow to select the correct (or change) printer it will automatic use the default printer.
Is there a way for the code to open the print window so I can change the printer and select number of copies?
Code:
Sub Print_Button()
Dim ws As Worksheet, cell As Range
Set ws = Sheets("main")
Set cell = Range("g2000").End(xlUp)
Do Until cell.Value ""
Set cell = cell.Offset(-1, 0)
Loop
ws.PageSetup.PrintArea = ("A2:" & cell.Address)
ws.PrintPreview
End Sub
I can assign a number of copies to print by adjusting ActiveWindow.SelectedSheets.PrintOut Copies:= , but what I want it to have the number of copies auto adjust to the value of a cell that contains a formula. I was hoping it would something as simple as Copies:=cell but no luck...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a list of references in a range (A5:A98) in a worksheet called "Architectural". What I am trying to do is create a seperate worksheet based on each cell value in the range. However, rather than blank worksheets, I would like each new worksheet to be a copy of a worksheet called "Template". If possible, I would like to have the name of each worksheet also put into cell B2 of each copy.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is probably a VBA thing, but there might be a simpler solution. Either would be grand!
Basically, I have a four sheet workbook that needs to be printed out in its entirety (no problem doing that ); however, I would like the final sheet (called "Room Data") to be printed, let's say ten times.
So basically I'd get a single print of the first three sheets and ten of the "Room Data".
Any ideas on how to do this without having to manually print the final sheet multiple times or creating ten identical sheets in the workbook?
I need to have a macro or VB that prints a number of pages based on the value of a cell in the workbook.
Example:
A1 = 155
B1 would divide by 50, print 3 pages where B1 = 50 and then print the 4th page where B1 = 5.
I am trying to dynamically set a print area based upon a formula from the contents of 2 cells. What I need is the print area range to be C1 to Ix, where x is the result of ((A2/B2)+2).
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there are macro that will allow me to: Clear Print Area, then Set Print Area based on user selection and finally print the Print Area to fit 1 page? I tried to search for solutions, but couldn't find any that matched my problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a graph in Excel containing the 12 months in column 'A' and data associated with each month in column 'B'. I want to hide rows containing months which have yet to arrive (eg: if we are in August, I want to hide the rows containing September:December). However, I want to change the range of rows that I hide each month (so that when we get to September, I only hide rows containing October:December). My attempts at writing a macro to perform this automatically have failed? This is the script I have written:
fyi - RowStart is the row number associated with January, RowEnd is the row number associated with December and RowNext updates each month and is the row number associated with the next calendar month.
Option Explicit
Dim RowStart As Integer
Dim RowEnd As Integer
Dim RowNext As Integer
Sub Hiderows()
RowStart = sheets("month").Range ("A1")
RowEnd= sheets("month").Range ("A2")
RowNext = sheets("month").Range ("A3")
Sheets("month").Select
Rows("RowStart:RowEnd").Select
Selection.EntireRow.Hidden=False
Rows("RowNext:RowEnd").Select
Selection.EntireRow.Hidden=True
End Sub
I have some numbers in the range A1:A10, any macro make 20 copies of these numbers and paste them one after another down column A?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a document that takes our client PO amounts, tactics/spend line items, and dates from one sheet and averages them across the months that it is eligible, so we can know the total amount of money we can expect to go out from our clients each month.
For example:
Client1 Tactic1 StartDate EndDate TotalAmount
Client1 Tactic2 StartDate EndDate TotalAmount
Client1 Tactic3 StartDate EndDate TotalAmount
Client2 Tactic1 StartDate EndDate TotalAmount
Client2 Tactic2 StartDate EndDate TotalAmount
I have mostly figured this out in a really complicated way with many nested if statements, but there HAS to be a simpler way. There will be lots of hands in this document, so I would like to make it as simple and easy as possible.
I have 5 opened files. I have copied into those files a set of formulas from my master sheet (with the macro). In A3 of ALL the open files, there is a date (ex. Date: 1/4/2014) Based on that date I want to copy the result of what I copied into the files (below is the code that I used to copy into the open files, maybe I could add something to create a named range of the resulting paste) back into the master sheet into a tab called 2014 and into a cell two cells below the cell in row 12 with the MATCHING date.

Drivers upload a stock record each day onto the Data Input sheet, listing what products and volumes they have loaded.
Because the range of products varies every day, this has to be set as a "dynamic" range on the worksheet.
To create a printable form, I need to copy each Item ID and Quantity from the Data Input sheet into the "Van Load" spreadsheet.
So Data Input D10 copies to Van Load E6 and the quantities from C10 to G6, down one row, repeat, etc. until the last row of variable Data Input range.
Option Explicit
Sub VANRECORD()
Dim lRow As Range, oCell As Range, nRD As Range, ws As Worksheet
Set lRow = ActiveSheet.Range("B" & Range("B65536").End(xlUp).Row)

Question 1) Is there a way that whenever I select Cell B39 that it will copy cells B39:V39 ? From there I can manually paste that selection to where I need to.
If this is possible, it would save the effort of having to select B39:V39 manually and clicking CTRL-C. I am gathering data and the copying and pasting is killing me.
Question 2) Is it possible that when I click on Cell A9 that it can paste any data that I just copied from another worksheet to cells A9:D29? The size of the selection that I would copy is the same size as A9:D29 (4 columns & 29 rows).
I have searched for a solution, but I am not having much luck since I am anaware of the proper terminology for these types of actions.
I have a data sheet like so:
A B
Name Grade
Jim 82%
Bob 90%
Kelly 71%
June 95%
And I also have two cells which are designated as the low and high range. (ie C1 = 85% and C2 = 100%). I need help with the macro for the button that will copy only the rows to a new sheet that fit within the range. So in the example above, pressing the button will create this in a new sheet:
A B
Name Grade
Bob 90%
June 95%
I've found afew examples off google searches, but my attempts to edit them arent working...
i want a macro to copy a range, say a1:e5, and paste the values and fonts/boarders/etc (ie no formulas) into a new workbook
the ones i found copy a whole sheet, i just want a portion....
I want to copy a range of cells and paste them in two different locations and have the new cells relate in data using a command button. This button would be clicked an infinite amount of times to provide the amount of copies desired and to be pasted underneath the previous copy. Example:.............

SendKeys "^V"
SendKeys "^s"
SendKeys "Total_IEDs_Hour_Of_Day_2009.xml"

I have a macro that copies rows from my DAILY OCCURENCE sheet that have a YES in them to my MANAGER SUMMARY SHEET and G1 is selected which has a hyperlink that opens a new email with the manager's email address and Subject pre-assigned.
I then have to manually go back to the newly generated summary sheet and select the cells and paste them into the email that was just opened.
Is there a way that the generated rows are already copied in memory and all i have to do is CTRL+V into the new email, or even better, the cells are pasted in the email automatically? So basically either the information being copied over stays in memory, or after it is copied into the summary sheet it is copied again. I just dont know how to copy unpredictable ranges generated by macros.
The code that generates my summary sheet for my manager is below.

I have a pretty large spreadsheet set up that invoices our clients. A few tabs in the front allow us to globally invoice if we did certain services for all clients and then we can also go into each tab and invoice each client for specific services performed on their property. Some invoices are two pages long and other may be up to seven pages long and anywhere in between... So that's the first issue, how do you find how many pages to print and then set the print range for each invoice.
The second issue centers around being able to print all the invoices at one time.
The spreadsheet is set up in this manner: A recap sheet we print to check off that each invoice was printed; an IIF statement to get the Excel info into QuickBooks; a template to set up each invoice's information with dates, dates services were performed,etc.; then there are five Global billing tabs where I can invoice all accounts globally or by their type of account (Saturday or Sunday open, 24/7 etc.); then we get into the tabs for each account. Each account has its own tab with an invoice loaded inside where we can itemize the services they received. Inside all these individual account tabs we have set up 'Zone' tabs where we can invoice all the clients we set up within a zone. There are about twenty of these tabs. Then at the end I have a few more tabs that aren't used any longer, there are about ten tabs there...
Is there a way I can hit Print and get all of my invoices to print out at one time versus having to go into each and every tab, set the print range, and then hit Print for all 250ish invoices?
This is the biggest complaint I have right now about the invoicing program I have set up...

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a range of cells (D10:D20) with numbers in them. I need cell A10 to look at D10 and return a specific number based on a set of criteria.
The same thing would go for A11:A20 & D11:D20.
If the number in D10 is 1-2 then A10 needs to display 0
If the number in D10 is 3-8 then A10 needs to display 0.1
If the number in D10 is 9-14 then A10 needs to display 0.2
If the number in D10 is 15-20 then A10 needs to display 0.3
Once I have that formula I know that i will just highlight A10 and drag the formula down through A20.
I have a range of some 2,000 plus cells that are various numbers in them only. What I want to be able to apply is a macro that will look at the number in a cell and if the result is between a set range, produce a text, eg.
If the number is between 0 - 999 then insert text [url] this is where you go'.
If the number is between 1000 - 1999 then insert text [url] this is where you go 2'
If the number is between 2000 - 2999 then insert text [url] this is where you go 2'
etc.
I have up to 11 ranges of numbers to insert (up to 10000 - 19999).
So the text is the result of the formula.

I want F collumn to add 5 days onto whatever date you put in there then correspond it to the matched date period in I2-I6 then apply the pay period from H2-H6 and put it in the G Collumn next to the date that has been input?
I can't seem to make SumIF or Vlookup do what I want here.
I have a table like that below. I also have a cell on the same sheet called CurrentPeriod in which a user can enter a period number corresponding with one of the values in the first column.
If someone enters 3 in "CurrentPeriod" I want to sum the first three values in the "Actual" column and then divide the result by the sum of the first three values in the "Target" column (effectively giving a percentage of target at the end of period 3)
Period Target Actual %Target
1 74 68 91.9%
2 81 71 87.7%
3 76 87 114.5%
4 76 68 89.5%
5 71 89 125.4%
6 69 81 117.4%

However, I want to use this same function in another place, without the limit set on the cells that will be cleared.
What I would like to do is send the formula the cell to start at (E14), offset that by one column, and then send a number of rows. With that, create the range to be cleared.
Something like:

This is a spreadsheet for a real estate office. The boss gave me a spreadsheet that he created to give a seller an idea how much money he will walk away with at closing. The spreadsheet includes all of the pertinate numbers but there is one item that he would like to have filled in automatically. When selling a house, you use a title service that charges a fee based on the price of the house. So, for example, If the house sells for $0 to $50,000, then let's say the fee is $112. If the house sells for $50,000 to $60,000, then the fee is $118. If the house sells for $60,000 to $70,000, then the fee is $125, and so on up to 1.5 million.
The boss' spreadsheet includes 5 different selling price scenarios, which I guess doesn't matter since you do the first one and the rest follow the same pattern.
So how do I automatically fill in a cell based on how one number falls within a range of other numbers? The fee schedule will be within the same spreadsheet, if that matters.
Ideally, I think they should be separate files, but this will be used in various locations as different realtors take it home or use it on their laptops.
