Check For Equal Cells With Multiple IF Statements?
Aug 21, 2014
I am trying to check if the dates are equal with multiple if statements! Macro works great if first date is wrong, but if the 2nd or third date is not unequal it does not work anymore.
really tried to do it myself but unfortunately
I added an excelexample
Date in E3 is different (if you type in other date in cell b3 macro does work partially).
I am trying to write a formula that will do multiple IF statements checking to see if words are written in certian boxes and if so to do certian things and I need help, never done multiple IF statements in one formula before and can't find anything in the books I have or on the web.
I have cells that they're values should be equal B6=B11, B7=B12, B8=B13, E6=B14, E7=B15, E8=B16, I want a macro that if the values are not equal then the background should be RED and a pop up message "The values should be equal".
I am using Excel 2007, and here is my scenario. I have a spreadsheet with a different sheet for each month of the year. I want certain cells in a month's sheet to mirror or be equal to the same cell in the previous sheet so that if I change the value of a cell in April, the same cell will automatically be changed in May.
An example is that I have a cell with the value of "Comcast". If I want to change that value in April to "Directv", I want it to automatically change in May, too.
Now I know that I can individually program a cell to be equal to a cell in another sheet and it will do exactly what I want. The problem is that I have about 60 cells in each sheet that I want to mirror the same cells in the previous sheet, and I don't want the entire sheet to mirror the previous one. So with 11 months/sheets with cells mirroring the previous sheet, individually programming 660 cells and switching between sheets to do that would take a very long time.
So my question is this. Is there any way to select multiple cells and have them all mirror the same cells on a different sheet without my having to program each cell individually?
I have three IF statements as below. the problem is if the first statement is true I want it to skip the next two statements or the result will be changed again.
VBA in Excel 2007. Essentially, what I am trying to do is this:
I have to two columns (A and B) that have a drop down list in each cell containing text options. I created the drop down lists using simple data validation. Let's say that A has the following options (East, West, North, South) and B has (Up, Down, Left, Right). For each combination of these, e.g., A1 = East and B1 = Down, I want C1 to pull a unique piece of data (a $ amount) from a separate worksheet. I can get this to work in its most basic form but I want to be able to be able to do this for cells in rows 1 - 300 without having to write separate lines of code for each.
Additionally, I am having trouble getting C1 to update automatically once A1 or B1 are changed.
I am trying to search a column for specific values.... if the cells in the column equal X, Y, or Z then I want to keep them. Anything else, should be deleted....and not just the cell the entire row that it is in.
So I'd like it to search column E for a number of different values, if equal keep the data. If not (say E6 is not any of those values) then delete that row (all of row 6)
How a single-cell formula to check that 2 transpose arrays are equal.
For example, A1:A5 are {1,2,3,4,5}
AND
B3:B8 are {1,2,3,4,5}
Is there an array formula in C3 for example, that will check (i.e. say TRUE) if corresponding ranges are true i.e. check in this cell that A1=B3, A2=B4,...A5=B8.
I want to check if cells C1, D1 and E1 contain the same name. For example if the cells all contain the 'Joe Bloggs' (or whatever the name variable happens to be) then cell F1 should say "Yes", else "No".
=AND($AE$2:$AE$10<=$F$2:$F$2000;$AE$2:$AE$10>=$E$2:$E$2000) With this I am checking for conditions to be true or false
Lets say I am checking AND(AE2 <= F2 ; AE2>=E2) this tells me if date in cell AE2 is smaller or equal to Cell F2, but how can I set this fromula to check if all the cells from F2 to F1000 are equal to AE2 so If I write date into Cell AE2 it checks all dates from F2 to F1000 and check if condition is true or false (and if I write date in cell AE3 it should check all the dates from F2:F1000, if date in AE3 is in this range)
How do I get a function to check cells on multiple work sheets.
For example this function searches for the word "hello" in cells, A1 to A50 and then adds up the number in the corresponding cells where "hello" is found from C1 to C50:
=SUMIF($A$1:$A$50,"=hello",$C$1:$C$50)
Two questions:
01) How do I search the same cells in two further work sheet, "Sheet2" & "Sheet3"?
02) Is there a way to search every cell in an entire work sheet?
I have three cells where a user will input data, in some cases (2T Weld Condition) they will only enter in B12 and C12, but in the case of a 3T weld they will also enter data in the D12 cell. I then use a formula to check for the thinnest material and that is entered into another cell with a formula, B14. I then need to check the value in B14 to verify if it is above zero, but below 0.65 (mm). If it is then I would like to have a message appear on the screen notifying the user that they are outside the acceptable range.
I cannot figure out how to use the information in cell B14 because it is a formula and my code only works with a direct value. The code I am using works if I point to one of the three input cells, B12, C12 or D12. How do I use the information in B14 to work with the code below.
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) If Target.Address = "$B$12" Then If Target.Value < 0.65 Then Run "MyMacro" End If End If End Sub
I am trying to create a macro that will create a number of check boxes, which are linked different cells. I have had some success in creating multiple check boxes and having them at the destination I want the problem is that instead of linking to different cells they are all linked to the same cell. I have attached a sample workbook SAMPLE.xlsx
I have data in Row 53 that spans 7 columns, but stays in the same row. I want to design a loop to select every 7th cell in that row and check if it is empty. If not, add onto a "counter" then display the final number of occupied cells (the value of the counter) at the end. This is what I have so far, but I get all sorts of errors.
Code: Sub Tester()
Dim WB As Workbook Dim WS As Worksheets Dim modCounter As Long Dim Cell As Range
Set WB = Workbook("Transverse Series.xlsm") Set WS = WB.Sheets(BM18)
Is there a way to write a forumula that read, if it's January, add column A1:A10, if it's February, add column A1:B10, if it's March, add column A1:C10 and it's April, add column A1:D10
I have attached a sample spreadsheet for your review. I think I need to combine multiple IF statements into one single statement. See column I:
There is currently a formula in Column I that looks at Column H and computes a ROUND formula based on this information. Unfortunately, this formula only works if Column J says "MB". If Column J says "Minutes" then I need Column I to compute with this formula: =IF(H2<30,0.5,ROUNDUP(H2/60,1))
How can I combine this with the current formula to get what I am looking for? Here is the current formula (for MB): =IF(H2<0.125,0.125,ROUND(H2,4))
I have attached a copy of my monthly work schedule. Sorry if it looks too noobish but I am. The question I have is on the schedule right now, it uses to of the same schedule, one is called request off and the other the final. The request off right now is where all changes are made, and they reflect on the final. I did it this way because I could not figure out how to make the cells autofill according to the day of the week, like if it was friday i needed it to fill in the shifts and normal days off automatically.
What I am trying to do now is eliminate the need for the second schedule, the request off one. I think I have figured out how to have the cells autofilled according to the day of the week, and also let the user enter in other stuff such as sick, vacation or whatever, and have it autofill if the cell is left blank, using vba. this is what i have so far, and it is working I was just wondering if it was possible to set it up for a range of cells instead of having to enter each one in manually.
If my input page B13 is either New Lease In-House or New Lease w/Co-Borker andmy input page B43 is - then take cell D57 in my Analysis report, mulitply it by cell B32 from Input page and divide it by 2, otherwise, take cell D57 on the analysis report, mulitply it by B42 on Input page and divide it by 4. I think I have a mess up with my brackets. This is what I have: =IF((OR('Input Page'!B13="New Lease In-House",'Input Page'!B13="New Lease w/Co-Broker"))AND('Input Page'!B43="-",'Analysis Report'!D57*'Input Page'!B32/2,'Analysis Report'!D57*'Input Page'!B32/"4")
I want to create a formula that will turn B2 in floors if A2 has /1 with its formula, Ceilings if it has /2, walls if it has /3, and M&E if it has /4. For example 456-401/2-1569 in cell A2 will populate ceilings in B2. I know I can create If statements but I can only figure out how to do this to search for one text and populate one word. I know Vlookup is possible but this spread sheet will be blank and as people populate there information I need the cells to automatically populate the data into the B column. how I can create the right formula?
I would like to add an AND function so that the IF statement also looks at the month which is represented in this case as $E$7, the formula I have been trying is:
