Why is this?
I want a macro to take the current time and if it is less than 09:00am, I want it to set a variable to be the current time on the previous day.
Basically, an operational day runs from 09:00am to 08:59am the following day.
08:45am on Saturday 13 July (for example) should be recorded as 08:45am on Friday 12 July.
I need a way to compare the time of the computer with the one in the cell and bring up a message box if the time matches.
Yet i don't want it to be a one time makro. What i want is to be able to work with the worksheet and that at the same time i want a paralel function to check whether the time in the cell matches. Something like agenda in Outlook.
I need to input a future date and time into one cell. For example, if I have a member ship that ends on October 20th at 3:00 pm exactly the kind of format you get when you enter the function "NOW". I would like to put that into one cell and then be able to add and subtract from it.
For example I would like to do something like this, if I had inputed the date and time in A1:
"=Now-A1", it would be cool if I can get the remaining hours or minutes along with how many days are left but not completely needed.
It would also be beneficial if I can drill down further and do it by time zone as well.
I'm trying to calculate the total time past an arbitrary time. If my start time is 17:00 and end time is 21:00 and I select a 19:00 as sunset time, How do I calculate the time past 19:00.
the formula I been using, a2-a1, but that calculates the total time between 17:00 -21:00.
I need to calculate the difference in Years, Months and Days between:
Date 1 = TODAY()
Date 2 = 4 years after a date in cell A1, which will always be earlier than today's date
(A bit of backround - I have certain risk management procedures that have a lifespan of 4 years. I want to calculate the time between now and 4 years after the date the procedure was completed, essentially to see how long before they have to be redone).
So far I have:
=DATEDIF(A1+4,TODAY(),"y")&"y "&DATEDIF(A1,TODAY(),"ym")&"m "&DATEDIF(A1,TODAY(),"md")&"d"
But that returns #NUM!.
Removing the +4 obviously just calculated the difference between the date in A1 and today, but I need the date in A1 PLUS 4 years and today.
I have also tried:
=(DATE(YEAR(A1)+4,MONTH(A1),DAY(A1))-TODAY())/365.25
which works in theory, however:
a) no consideration for leap years
b) does not return nY, nM, nD - only the decimal.
However I would be happy to use this method if I could convert it to Years Months Days.
Through VBA I am trying to filter for today's date and all dates 30 days in the future as well as all dates 30 days in the past.
I am currently using the code below, but it only show dates 30 days in the future. I cannot get it to populate cells that are either 30 days in the future or 30 days in the past.

I am a flight instructor and legally we cannot work more than 8 hours in any consecutive 24 hour period. I'm trying to create a spreadsheet that will calculate the totals from that 24 hour period for me.
Right now I have something that sort of works, but not the way I would like it. I have a column for "time" that has the date and ending time of the flight and I am using that as if the total flight occurred at one moment (the ending time).
So, for instance let's say I did these flights
1: 8AM-10AM (2 hours, clocked at 10AM)
2: 11AM - 2 PM (2 hours, clocked at 2PM)
3: 7AM-9AM the following day (2 hours, clocked at 9AM)
If I have my formula calculate the time for 9AM the following day (totaling the past 24 hours) the first flight won't be included in the calculation since the hours from that flight is only imputed at 10AM. The formula would read 4 hours rather than the (actual) 5 hours.

All I'm trying to do is use the totals under "flight start" and "flight end" instead of the end flight time I had to put in under the date column.
I need to determine a formula which will allow me to calculate a future date based upon a current date with varying time periods.
For example:
I have a bill which is paid on the 15th and last business day of each month. I would like to be able to see the next due date regardless of what day of the week it is.
I have a bill which is paid every other Tuesday. I would like to know the next due date without having to enter +14 for every due date in the future. In other words, it is preferable to be able to open the spreadsheet and automatically see the next due date, not use autofill to repeatedly add +14 to a previous date which would limit the # of future due dates that could be calculated.
I have a bill which is paid on the last business day of each month, not the last Friday of each month. I would need excel to return a value for the last day of the month which = Monday-Friday, regardless of what day of the week it may be as long as it isn't Saturday or Sunday(holiday exclusion would be nice but not required).
I have a column of values resulting from subtracting a static date and time from the current date and time.
This means it is constantly updating, which makes it impossible to sort.
All my work depends on sorting those values, though.
What is the code i need to use to assign a macro to a command button which inserts the current date and time in the selected cell regardless of where that cell is?

And sometimes I may want to change the Time, so I used another column 'Amended Time' to insert a 4-digit value to do so.
I want to arrange them into batches according to the hh:mm, so for the column 'Batch', I used the following formula:
=IF(D2 = "", "", IF(EXACT(D2, D1),MAX(B$1:B1),MAX(B$1:B1)+1))
The problem is, when I changed the time by inserting 4 digits in 'Amended Time', the time value is actually different from those generated by TRUNC(), so even two cells have the same time '03:46', the time value is not exactly the same and so they are arranged into different batches (please refer to the following table).

how to get the current time with NOW(). The thing is once that is entered I dont want it to change.

I have a worksheet which contains START TIME in column A, then TIME USAGE in column B and END TIME in column C. User enters start time, followed by the number of time usage in minutes, how could i possibly display the end time automatically in this scenario? how do you add the entered time usage to the start time to display the end time? Say if I enter 1:00 AM at start time and 00:15 minutes on time usage, how can 1:15 AM be displayed on the end time automatically?

I've been looking for an easy way to add time to a cell that has a time or date and time in it, for example, 5/31/2007 12:06:27 PM
I want to add 30 minutes to it, for example, without having to split it apart and manually add it in, worrying about adding an hour if I go over 60 minutes, etc.
If I was doing it with a cell formula, I could use "=A1 + TIME(0,30,00)" but I don't know what the equivalent would be in VBA.
I'm trying to set up a template running loads of formulas. One of the aspects I want is that a specific field refreshes with the current date, but always reverts to 10:00:00 (10AM) as the time.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThis workbook is designed to prompt the user with inputboxes allowing them to enter a name, hyperlink a file to that name, and then a date. Next all the drawing names are read into an array and stored. Along with some minor sheet formatting, this is what happens when the button "Add Drawing" is clicked.
Next, when the button "Revise Drawing" is clicked, the user will be prompted with an inputbox for a drawing name. This name will be compared to the names in the array. If the name is found, the row containing that drawing will selected and the user will be prompted to update the hyperlink, then the "drawing date" will be moved to the right by one column, then the user will be prompted for another date replacing the date that was moved. The first sequence of commands or button works fine. The button "Revise Drawing" prompts the user with the inputbox requesting the revised drawing name, then develops the runtime error 1004.
In the spreadsheet attached, i have a formula now() which will update the current time in column B if i select opted from column A and similarly in column D the current time will get updated when i select option in column C.
However when i first select the option in column B the current time gets updated but after a while if i select the option in column C the time in the column B is also getting changed.
May be there is a different formula, Not sure what is the trick ?
