I want on my chart is an object (Arrow in this case), that is conditional formatted on data between 2 periods.
The first bar of 20 represents a top 20 list with most common failures.
I would like to have an arrow that indicates that if the last period, the amount of failures has gone up, down or is equal to the period before that.
So period 1, article 111 had 10 failures, period 2 article 111 had 20 failures, hence there should be an arrow pointing up related to that bar.
I'm looking for the excel model object chart and class diagram. I find the model object's description in the microsoft page, however i'm liked to have the object model and the class diagram in chart or picture.
I m trying to resize and later, delete a chart object in a macro. I usually record a macro and then look at the code and modify for my needs, but when I resize, I get: ActiveSheet.Shapes("Chart 30").ScaleWidth
and next time I open the spreadsheet the index will be Chart 31 or whatever, so I don't know what the index will be at any given time - how can I get the index of a dynamically created chart? Also, when I wish to delete the chart, there is indexing of the Chart Object as well.
I have two arrows: - Red Arrow points down to signify negative change - Green Arrow points up to signify positive change
These arrows look exactly like the Excel 2007 conditional formatting arrows you would apply to a cell - the only difference is that I have inserted them as shapes so I can float them over a graph.
GOAL: Corresponding with the graph, if a cell shows a (+) change, then I display green arrow and hide red arrow. Vice versa for a (-) change.
So I'm creating a grid worksheet for engineering calculations and I have a couple questions about the best way to do it. I've been messing with excel for my calcs for about a decade now, and I every once in a while I try and improve them.
First: I will have several input areas that will either be colored text or shaded background (either works for me). I don't want these 'input required' objects to print as color, just black. But I want my logo at the sheet top to print as color. I've only found ways to not print any color. Can I print the logo as color and the 'input required' stuff as black?
Second: When I do calcs by hand, I write them out on 10x10 grid paper. Each 10x10 grid is one inch. In the past I've created this grid out of the cells, which works. I frequently need to change formulas around though, and each time I do this, I end up needing to mess with the grid cells also. Is there a way to create the grid and have it in the background so it doesn't need to be adjusted each time I change formulas? I wan't the grids to print, and also want to see them on the screen, as I sometimes draw simple objects along with the formulas.
I have a Pivot Chart with 5 data series requiring 3 different formats.
Data: In my Pivot Table I have the following Fields - Type, Year, Month, Sales.
The Years are always the most Recent 2 Years (Currently 2011,2012).
The Months are, well, the Months Jan Through Dec.
The Sales are 'Number of Sales in The Period'
The Type is one of 3: Sales, Cumulative Sales and Change.
Sales has a field for every month in 2011 and 2012, the same for cumulative and finally, Change has the difference between 2011 and 2012 sales for each month.
Now when I plot these on the chart I have
Sales 2011, Sales 2012 Plotted as a line chart on the primary axis,
Change Plotted as a bar chart on the primary axis, with invert if negative formatting,
Cumulative Sales 2011, Cumulative Sales 2012, Plotted as a line chart on the Secondary axis. With the same colours per year as Sales, but as a Dashed Line.
I want this formatting to remain static as the data updates, and if possible when the series changes name (which i'm not sure is possible) because, come January the data series will be 2013/2012 not 2012/2011.
With the other formatting is seems to sometimes stay static and sometimes just decides to reformat everything and switch axes and i'm not really sure why.
Is it possible to aply conditional formating in Chart. for eg. my data in is below format
MonthNo of PO'sNo of GRN'sJan23444443Feb34343453Mar45425566April19002123Average PO's3055Average SO's3896
Now I want a Coloumn chart in which line changed to Red color which are below average. Currently i have to do manually change in it. Is it possible to change column chart color as per condition.
I am trying to bring my charting skills up to date, and all I can say is that I am not good. What I am trying to accomplish is a graph where I can choose in the graph ie by a check box which units I want to include. In some instances perhaps I would like all units and in some instances only a couple. Is this possible to do? I have included some data that might be useful to work with.
I have four columns in my worksheet. In column C, I need to find the no. of times word "Alarm" is occuring. Further, with each "Alarm" entry in col C, there is a alarm type given in column D. I need to find the no. of alarms for each type and then display a bar chart for the alarm type vs. frequency of its occurence.
If the bubble size is 0-5, I need the bubble color to be green If the bubble size is 6-15, I need the bubble color to be yellow If the bubble size is 16-25, I need the bubble color to be red.
So, right now my chart looks like this: chart.png
As you can see the top bubble is the right color, but based on the bottom bubble value, it should be green.
How do I make this change colors dynamically based on the bubble size value?
I am trying to have the points and the lines connecting them on my line graph be two different colors depending on a value i put in a column next to the chart values.
For example: x y Variable 1 5 1 2 10 3 16 1 4 5
The points where there is a 1 in the variable column i would like to make a different color from the other points.
I did an extensive search and all i could find was the following:
Sub myChartClass_Calculate() Dim cht As Object Dim p As Object Dim V As Variant Dim Counter As Integer
However, this uses the values from the chart data, not an outside variable.
Hey Guys- I'm not sure if this is even possible but I need some help. I have attached a file below similar to a gantt chart. I need help with the conditional formatting, as I have manually changed the colors to match what I need automated.
Basically I have 6 tasks and I need to change dates for individual projects but I also need the corresponding color to also change.
I have a spread sheet with various tick boxes, that when ticked calculate an accumulative percentage in a cell. This cell is the basis of my graph. e.g. if the cell displays 80% - the chart with show 80% - simple.
however, I want to write a vba code that changes the fill colour of the chart depending on the percentage.
i.e. if the percentage data = 0-49% I wish the chart to display as red. 50-69% - yellow and 70%+ = green.
I am using a bar graph and would like conditional formatting for a series collection. So if the series collection is greater than 30%, the single entry (not the whole series) would turn red. I have attached an image of what I currently have. There is a data validation list at the top which tells the graph what series to use, so the data is always changing.
I hope this all makes sense. Basically, if an entry is above 30%, I want the single entry in the series to turn red.
I currently have a thermometer chart in Excel 2013 that I set up with percentages along the Y-Axis. The thermometers are showing spending based on a budgeted number. Currently, the project is over-budget so I have adjusted the thermometer scale to go far beyond 100%.
I would like to have the percentages past 100% show in red along the lefthand side.
I have a horizontal bar chart in which some of the bars represent positive values and others represent negative values.
How to format the bars so the "positive" bars are shaded in one colour and "negative" bars in another colour? I'd prefer not to change the bar colour manually as the values change frequently.
I am trying to format the colour of a column chart based on the value of the x axis (not the y axis value). Firstly I need to know if it is possible. Secondly I would appreciate any hints / VBA code that could be useful.
Background: I have a Chart sheet with a combination bar/line chart on it. Data is coming from a "datasheet". There is a combo box on the chart sheet that allows you to choose a specific office whose data you want to view. Pick an office from the dropdown and the chart changes. The data is a count of closed cases by month. The data sheet shows 22 Offices with their monthly data, along with entries for each month of the Upper Control Point, Lower Control Point and Mean based on the nationwide data for that month.
The chart itself uses bars to show the office's case count per month, and I've incorporated 3 additional data series to plot the UCP, LCP and Mean as lines for each month.
I'd like to change the color of the bars to be Blue, Green or Red depending on where they fall in the 3 lines. I sort of have it working, but I'm stuck.
The code below grabs the value of each series point and compares it to the 3 control points and does change the colors. I've figured out how to use the If, next to change from one series point to the next, but cannot figure out how to loop through each of the control points. As it stands now, it looks only at the first month's control point and uses that for each successive month.
I hope this is clear and I've tried to keep it as short as possible while still providing enough information.
Sub chartbarformat() ' ' chartbarformat Macro ' Macro recorded 5/15/2008 by vacoyoungd ' Dim x As Integer Dim val As Variant Dim AveragePending As Range Dim LowerPending As Range Dim UpperPending As Range
I am trying to format the colors of the bubbles on my bubble chart to Green (>5), Yellow (4-5), or Red (<4) based on the value used to create the bubblesize.
The problem that I am having is that .BubbleSizes is property of type String, not range like .xValues, or .Values. So instead of pulling in the value, I am pulling in the reference and getting a "Type Mismatch" Error. The reference of my data for .BubbleSizes is $D$5:$D51. Each row is it's own series and the list is dynamic, so I need to be able to support future rows without a lot of maintenance.
Here is the code that I have so far.
VB: Sub DataSeriesFormat() ' ' DataSeriesFormat Macro ' Format Data Series based on defined parameters for Green, Yellow, and Red. Created by Derek Steinmetz 7/24/12 ' Dim x As Integer Dim val As Variant Dim Green As Range
I have to create a chart XY Scatter plot in excel. I have to differentiate the data points color based on the another column "category". Now I can change the data points color manually. Since the number of points is huge, is it possible to color the data points based on a column?
I want to use VBA to update a drawing object's color, such as a circle.
For example, pretend I am counting sheep and I need to know when I have reached the maximum count by the visual aide of a stoplight. The script in my head reads: If the max. count of the sheep is less than 5, then the stoplight is green. If the max. count of the sheep is equal to 5, then the stoplight is yellow. If the max. count of the sheep is greater than 5, then the stoplight is red.
Is there a way to do such a thing on excel and with VBA?
I created four Ranges called "Range1", "Range2", "Range3" and "Range4", and wrote short program, that fills them:
Dim i As Integer For i = 1 To 4 Range("Range" & i).value = 1 Next i
Is it possible to do similiar thing with for example ComboBox? Let's say that i have comboBoxes named "cb1", "cb2", "cb3" and "cb4" and want to disable them.
I ran into some difficulties by calling an object's function from a collection.
'BondIndex Class Module Option Explicit Private m_BondReturn As Collection Public Sub Initialize() Set m_BondReturn = New Collection End Sub Public Sub Load(BondPoints As Integer) Dim i As Integer Initialize 'Load Parameters of Bond End Sub Property Get BondReturn() As Collection Set BondReturn = m_BondReturn End Property................................
If I hadn't read it on here, how would I have know that they existed? They are not mentioned in the standard Excel help files (not that I could see anyway).
What other "objects" are available? I had a look through the references in the VBE and there are literally hundreds on items which all look pretty "juicy". Does that mean there are a whole host of other objects that I could use in my Excel spreadsheets to either make them simplier or more powerful?
If so, where does one find any reference info on them?
Why should I set objects to nothing (ie clear them) just before ending a sub routine? Doesn't excel dump the variables after the sub is finished running?
