Copy Column Based On Title In VBA

Feb 26, 2014

I need to copy values in a column. Which column varies, but the title of the column (in row 1) is always the same. I had:

Dim Constant
Constant = Range("C:C")

The problem is that the values I want may or may not be in column C.

The column I want to copy has the text "Resource" in row 1. This text will never change.

Copy Data From Another Workbook And Paste The Data From According To The Column Title

Dec 9, 2008

I have a time card report which will record the time spent on work for each employee. Each month, i have to generate the time card report and copy the data to my master file. Is there any code that can auto copy the time card entry directly to the master file? I only need some of the entry on the time card report, some of the column can be ignored.

I was thinking of creating a macro that will prompt me to choose the file to import as there are different file for different individual. Attach here with the master list (Demo.xls) & the time card for one individual (Nov-KTTHAM.xls) for reference.

I want to copy the data on column B of the time card to the column A of the master list, column C to column B, column D to column C, column E to column D, column F to column E and column G to column G.

Separating Out Values Based On Title Then Calculating Average

Jun 15, 2014

I have a list of houses for sale in various suburbs, divided into houses with various amounts of rooms.

I want to be able to find the average cost of each size house in each individual suburb.

i.e. City Centre, 3 Bedroom, 250000
City Centre, 2 Bedroom, 200000
City Centre, 1 Bedroom, 150000

What is the best way of doing this? Multiple worksheets?

Obviously the sample worksheet I have supplied is quite small, I will be working with much larger lists once.

Cell As Chart Title When Using More Than 1 Column Of Data?

Apr 30, 2014

I have a very simple template which plots out means and standard errors of a treatment structure. The input is from an analysis of variance so I want to have the significance levels dispalayed in the title. This is simple for a single col of data but when there are more then one it doesn't use a cell to populate the chart title.

From the sheet I've attched the first and second chart have dynamic titles, if you change cell F10 from 0.364 to 0.001 the title on the second chart will change to "Input (**)" as it uses M19 for the title. The problem is that for the 3rd chart titled "CV*TR (NS)" any change has to be done manually (change cell F15 to 0.04 and this changes cell J43 to "CV*TR (*)".

Lock In A Title On Column Allowing Sorting

I am trying to create titles for columns. I can do that by just creating them in the cells above the data. The problem is that the titles sort into the data using the sorting feature. When I lock any cells and protect them, the sorting is locked out. Can I use some sort of header over the columns that remains in place where I can still sort the data below, by clicking on the column and sorting?

Merge Two Workbooks. Copy Column Data Based On Numerical ID Match Of Another Column.

I need to take both workbooks/(worksheets), compare the SKUs, and if a matching SKU is found, extract the UPC from Workbook 2 and fill in the UPC field in Workbook 1, and if no UPC is present in Workbook 2, then it leaves the cell in Workbook 1 blank.

Copy Rows To New Sheet Based On Y / N Value In 1st Column

May 12, 2014

I have a single sheet that lists available items, prices, etc. When doing quotes, you simply put y/n in Col:A for each item. I then want a simple macro that will copy all of the rows with "yes" into a second sheet. Sample data with end result attached.

I did try and butcher this macro to do what I want, and whilst it does copy data across, it's not really working. Firstly as I think it is searching along a row and copy columns, whereas I need to search a column and then copy rows.

Copy Rows Of Numbers To Another Column Based On Letters

Jun 16, 2014

I have a row of numbers that change as they go up. I will have 2 rows of numbers that will range from 1's all the way to 9's (B through BO) I will have different letter sequences that I will be entering as the criteria in column F either on the Up and Down sheet or the Even and Odd sheet. When I say different sequences. This is 1 group of letters. The next group of letters in column F will be in a different order. They will always be a U and D in one and E and O in the other but in row 13 it may have a U or D and it will be the same all the way down. The object is for me to be able to place the letters in either column F from rows 13 to 60, place 2 rows of numbers in rows 58 and 59, press the advance cell in G1 and it it populates all across the spreadsheet from I to BO. I will get all different number sequences since I am starting with a different number in rows 58 and 59. I have all the letters color coded and they move up based upon the color of the letters in row 1. If there is a green E in column M then I will be the column that the number advances from 1111 to 2111. If there is a green O then column K will advance up from 1111 to 1121.

I made a short video if you wish to view it.

The conditional formatting is very important so I need to have the green font with gray shade and red font with yellow shade [URL]....
