I attempting to create a formula that will create random numbers in a column without repeats. For example, I have a spreadsheet with two columns. The first column I want to contain the random numbers and the second column will contain names. I just need the formula to create the random numbers once.

I have 12 Cells, years 1 to 12. I want to create a random number for each cell, which then depending on what the number is, either 1-75 being 8,000,000 or 76-100 being 10,500,000, place it in the cell and be able copy it down. What i have done already you can see on the attached workbook, or the table i used:
I used this table to generate the random number to give either 8m or 10.5m, except i put the VLOOKUP in the year 1 cell, added some dollars signs and copied down but that only makes them all the same, so i want a way to make each year have its own random number preferably without making 10 tables.
The code below generates numbers in the range (A2: H2)

How best to proceed? I'm also fully aware of the possibility that my present design will also double book people (place then on reception and telephone duty simultaneously).

If however you had 1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5....i want excel to recognize there are multiple minimums (two 1's) and produce a warning (i realize this probably needs to be coupled with an if statement).

Works great, except when a number is duplicated, (E.G. 14,13,13,12,11,10,10,9,8 etc). It then returns the first value from(C) repeated, and not the value from the second and subsequent duplicated reference numbers.
I am working on a Random Cycle Count Generator that provides random SKU#s based on 3 separate columns of SKU listings. The user clicks a button to generate the SKU#s to cycle count for that day. What I would like to see is a date stamp in the columns next(B,D,F) to the referenced SKU listing(A,C,E) based on which SKU#s are generated. This will let me see the last date that the SKU was generated. I would also like it to automatically save after generating.

I need to be able to evalute the value in column A and copy, paste special transpose all values in Column B that have the same value in column A. As an example if cells A1 through A5 is "Arizona" and cell B1 is Broccoli, B2 is Cauliflower, B3 is Apples, B4 is Oranges, and B5 is Bananas, I want to copy B1 through B5 and paste special transpose to cell C1.
This then would need to loop all the way to the bottom of the data in Column A looking for a change in value. The attached file called Sample Data has two tabs. The one titled "report" shows the raw data, the one titled "Final" shows how I would like the results to appear (column L)

My balance column is formulated for 60 rows. I am currently on row 23. The balance is repeated down the entire sheet range I have set. How do I keep the balance from showing next to an empty row without losing the formula?

I need to paste the step names across Row 1 and whole numbers counting to X down colum A. I then need to have each second represented by coloring the cell, for example, Step 1 is 1 sec. and Step 2 is 2 sec. if "Step 1" is in B1 I need B2 colored then for "Step 2" in C1 i need C3-4 highlighted and so on for a variable number of steps. This is my first question so I hope I was clear enough. With this much programed I will be able to make simple changes to tweak it to fit my needs.

For example, A1:a100 to be populated with a random number between 1 and 100, but not to duplicate, using every possible number within that range. I use the RANDBETWEEN function to generate the numbers, but I cannot prvent them from duplicating.

I tried the =RANDLOTTO function that I learned of in an old post on this board, but that results in "#NAME?" appearing in the first cell. I tried to install the Add-Ins (both the Analysis ToolPak and the Analysis ToolPak - VBA, but nothing seems to happen. Is there another way to generate these numbers?

I have used what I thought would work to generate me these numbers like this example:

RPlayerNum = Int((Lastrow - 2 + 1) * Rnd + 2)
This would generate a random number into RPlayerNum variable, based on the list in sheet RPlay, missing off row 1 as the header.
However we have noticed a massive flaw in this code.... It works as long as the excel file is open, each time run it gives a different random number. However if you close the excel file and open it, then run it, it ALWAYS gives the same number first run, every time.
I am creating an excel spread sheet for a project I am doing, I need to create a daily chart for 6 months of water usage that results in averaging set targets.
I have made a chart with the average uses per day but would like to have daily numbers that average out to what i have but in a random sequence e.g. i have that a shower uses 320 litres per day for 2 people is there a way i can make a chart that says: 300 (a1) 340(a2) 260(a3) 360(a4) etc i need to do this for 180 days with random numbers generated to average the same overall. I dont know even how to generate random numbers.
Any way to make say cells A1 thru A10 produce random numbers from 0 to 9.
I would like to do it without a macro if possible. I also need a button to generate those random numbers. I know this button may make it impossible to not use a macro. If it has to be done with a macro then so be it.
I have a process that generates the value X in cell A1 randomly. So I can change the value of X in A1 by clicking on F9. I want to sum a sequence of X values. I can do this by manually copying each X to a row of cells and then summing the row values. But that is tedious. Can the summation be done automatically without being regarded as being circuler?
