May 13, 2013Dates on y axis. How can the spacing be set to reflect months? I am presently using a Line Chart which recognizes dates on x axis but not the y.

Any Way To Show Axis At Hourly Interval But Keep All Data In Chart?
Apr 13, 2012I have got a lot of data to put in a chart that updates every 5 minutes with new data - i have a chart that Line chart that shows this.
It shows the cost of something every 5 minutes.
I have put this in a chart using offset but obviously i want to show the cost over the course of the day - because this updates every 5 minutes, the axis at the bottom (which has the time of the data) is massive and doesn't look good.
Is there a way to show the axis at an hourly interval but keep all the data in the chart?
Filter Column Data By Time Interval And Count Number Of Records For Each Interval?
Apr 28, 2014I have a column of "timestamp" data (in mins) which i want to filter by a given time interval, say 10 mins. Then i want to count the number of records for each time interval and output the data to a sheet. how can i achieve this? through vba?

VBA Chart - X Axis To Appear As Dates?
Jun 5, 2012I have a simple piece of code that creates a chart using the the values in column A as the x-axis and the values in column E as the y-axis. The values in Column A are all dates in this format: mm.dd.yyyy. However, when I collect the x-values they always appear as numbers (1,2,3). Even if I format the axis to Dates, they appear as 1.00.1900, 1.02.1901, etc.
Here is the code (also, I would like a VBA solution but if this is with excel's chart tools, so be it).

Changing Values Of X-axis, And Descending Order Axis(x-axis)

1) How do make values on x-axis as words? E.g. apples, oranges, etc.
2) Is it possible to have the numbers on x-axis in descending order? If I can figure out 1), I can do this as well, but it would be nice to know if it is possible to have the numbers on x-axis in descending order.
Generating Monthly Report From Expiration Dates
Jun 3, 2013I am new at excel and have very limited experience. I have a employee training database, with employees (in column A2:A54) and the certification names (in row A1:AS1) that I must generate a monthly report on employees that are expiring within the current month. The cells are already conditionally formatted to change colors for one month prior to expiration date, current month of expiration date, and past the expiration date.
I am manually gathering the data then adding it to another sheet. In the mist of trying to gather data, I am missing and/or overlooking information. I wanted to know if there is a way to automatically generate a report based on the expiration dates that would pull the employees name and which certification is expiring or expired, preferable both. I have tried reading threads and applying advanced filters but due to the number of certifications it is not functional to do it this way.

Chart Dates On Horizontal Axis
Oct 31, 2012I am trying to create a chart with dates from the past 6 weeks (one week at a time). The horizontal axis shows the dates from my data page correctly until I make one of the other data fields a secondary axis and then my dates change from the actual dates on the data page to 1-Jan-00, 2-Jan-00, through 6-Jan-00.
When I do the select data and look at the dats in the Horizontal Axis labels box, it shows the real dates. Why won't they show up on the chart as actual dates?

X Axis Dates Not Appearing Correctly In Combined Chart
Jun 2, 2014I got a problem with displaying my dates correctly on the X-axis of my combined column - line graph. For some reason X-axis labels appear as consecutive numbers with regards to number of data points. Please see attached.
Also, why does the indent change as seen in this screenshot?
Last but not least, how can I prevent my secondary axis label from coinciding with the labels as seen here?

Excel 2007 :: Dates By Month On X-Axis In Horizontal Stacked Bar Chart?
Aug 24, 2012I am working with the Ganntt chart and horizontal bar charts but can't seem to figure out a way to force the X-Axis to behave properly.
In Excel 2007, I am trying to get the X-Axis to show major units of Months. However, in my chart options I can only change the Y-Axis to be Date/Monthly.
Changing my data layout (from the below) to be a vertical format produces the same problem, just in the other direction.
My data looks as follows:

The Blocker column is formatted as "No Fill" in order to cover a portion of the time-scale.
My X-Axis displays as random dates throughout the period and all of my data displays properly in terms of the scale on the grid.
What is NOT working is that the dates shown on the X-Axis really need to be based on a Monthly scale instead of the randomly selected dates Excel is using.

I also have a growth rate for each month so for example in 2001 in jan the growth rate might have been 0.3% and feb 0.5% What I want to do is for each month based on the growth rate and the total produce a value for each month which sum to the total amount. It's also important to note that it restarts each year.

I'm trying to locate all of the dates between those two dates and pull in the profit ammounts from another sheet, the results would be in row 5. I would also like to pull in the loss amounts and have them in row 6. All corresponding with the date range in rows 3 and 4.

The category (x) axis title should be horizontal, whereas the value (y) axis title should be rotated. Stepping through the code, when I .SetElement for the category axis title, it appears horizontal as planned. However, as soon as I .SetElement for the rotated value axis title, the category axis title also rotates.

Sep 27, 2006how to incorporate another category and value axis to my existing chart.
1. I need to add a rank axis derived from my data column (C6-C15). This column should rank from highest to lowest and create a tie if any number is repeated. I have arranged the rank column in cells B38:L38 as they would appear. I would like this to appear on the top or bottom of the bar graphs.
2. Second I need to add the frequency of hits which = 3 derived from cell J1 This should appear on the chart were it is currently titled. This should create another bar graph colored green and labeled 3.
3. Lastly the numbers axis can remain the same as it appears on the chart or if it would be better to align as shown in cells B43:L43.

Average Interval In Corresponding Data?
Feb 7, 2014I have geological readings "W,X,Y & Z". For every drilled hole I have these readings recorded for individual intervals (i.e. 1-2m, 2-3m, etc.)
However, the intervals have now been grouped together based on other (unlisted) specifications.
Now I am tasked with averaging these readings "W,X,Y & Z" for the decided groupings. For example.... if intervals 1-4m have been grouped for the first hole, what is the average reading of "W,X,Y & Z" over this new interval?
I have attached a file which displays the layout of the spread. To the left is the original data, and in columns I:K are the new 'groupings' of intervals. Ideally, I would like to generate the average table to the right of the original data (highlighted in green).
So basically, I need some vba code to average the readings in the 1st table conditionally to correspond with the grouped intervals in the 2nd table.
