I want to detect if a cell within a range of cell has been modified
A range of cell is named "ChartData" =Data_In_Out!$E$15:$E$29
I understand how to react for a single cell, but not with a group of cells

I needed a code that would input the current date and time in the cells in column N whenever changes were made to any cells in the row from columns A to M. For example, if I change a name in cell 6D, then cell 6N would automatically change to the current date and time.
I found a useful code on a forum (maybe here, don't know for certain) and modified it to suit my needs (see below). I am however now getting a debugging error suggesting that the second line that reads "Private Sub Worksheet_Calculate()" is causing an error.

I have the following series of formulas consecutively in a single column:

Effectively, I am comparing the values in each set of 47 to determine which one is the smallest. The smallest entry will get a YES label next to it and all others will get a NO. The problem I am having is the the autofill feature is not correctly detecting the pattern, even if I manually fill in the first 49 entries (shown above). If I hilight all of the above entries and autofill one down, I get the following:
=IF(A53=INDIRECT(ADDRESS(2+MATCH(MIN(H53:H100),H53:H100,0),1)),"YES","NO")
It should be:
=IF(A53=INDIRECT(ADDRESS(2+MATCH(MIN(H51:H98),H51:H98,0),1)),"YES","NO")
Basically I need the H:H: reference to stay constant, but only for 47 cells at a time. After that, both the lower and upper bound should increase by 47. Is there any way to indicate this to Excel? Manually typing in the new formula every 47 entries isn't practical because the spreadsheet has thousands of entries. How I can accomplish this using a single formula and autofill?

I have a sheet containing lots of information (lists of flight information to and from all countries). So entries are duplicated in the entire sheet. For example LITHUANIA, USA, CHINA... appears lots of times. I only need to highlight particular countries.
I would just use conditional formatting, but maybe there is a quicker way to do that?
So there is a list of 50 countries in one sheet and in another sheet I got all the info. I need those 50 countries from the list to be highlighted in the info sheet (sheet has many columns and rows).

How to detect a change in a spreadsheet, but how do i etermine on which cell the change happened?
Basically, I need something like this, if in the range of b1:b30 a cell is changed by the user, let say B??, then change or modify (via a subroutine) cell A??.

Is there any formula or macro that can be used to detect the value of the last filled in cell in a column or row? For example, I fill in column B each day with a new numerical variable, so on day one B1 = 100, on day 2 B2 = 200, on day 3 B3 = 150 and so on. I would like the last variable entered in column B to appear in, for example, cell A1. Is there any way to do that?

I am trying to find a way for an automatic date stamp to be populated into a field in a row when any other cell contained within the same row is changed or modified. I am hoping that there is an easy solution to this. I have tried searching for this and found a few related posts but I don't know how to modify the code to work for me and when I try to do it, it doesn't work. I have attached an example. I would like column B to populate when I modify any field in the row with the date it is being modified.

I am trying to monitor the status of a cell on another sheet and autopopulate a cell depending on that information. The formula works well until I give the spreadsheet to a 3rd party and the formula ranges change after they paste new data to the source sheet. I have tried locking and password the formula cells but they change range regardless!
Here is the formula from the first cell.

It scans for a number in an adjacent cell. If the number is present on the sheet 'Test', it autopopulates the cell with a string from the source sheet. The cell remains blank until there is data present.
If I cut data from row 6 and paste it to row 17, the formula cahnges itself to:
[Code] ........
How I can lock down this formula so that the ranges remain the same i.e. $AT$6:$AT$26, despite changes on the source sheet? I have tried F4 to toggle relative and absolute references and this has made no difference.

Anyone know of a way to detect if a cell is blank in a closed workbook?
Here's what I'm trying to do:
=IF(ISBLANK(closed workbook cell reference),NA(),closed workbook cell reference)
also tried:
=IF(closed workbook cell reference="",NA(),closed workbook cell reference)
Neither one worked. I'm using Excel 2007.

I want to know if there is a way to have a cell beside a series of cells that will change its date (and time) when any of the cells in the series is changed.
On a single row, I have four materials that total to a fifth cell. The 6th cell in that row, I would like to have a "date last modified" that would change if any of the first five cell's value is changed.

I'm building a work effort tracker for employees to record what they do throughout the day and submit it via email, and I've got everything but the "Undo" button working. Right now I have 13 buttons that add +1 to cells C9:C21, and a submit button that copies those cells into an email. What I'm trying to find a solution for is if someone clicks the wrong button, say clicks Inbound Call instead of Outbound Call, which would +1 to C9 instead of C10.
I've read that coding an undo macro button is pretty much impossible, but is there a way to locate the last cell modified by a macro and subtract 1 from it? Or possibly identify the cell contained in the last macro run and -1 from it that way?

I have a workbook that column C has computer names starting from C4 to C83. I need to get the Datelastmodified of a log file that robocopy is writting to the following path. \Server1folder1WorkSheetName\%computername%somefile.log. The Datelastmodified needs to be entered in column K for each computer name in column C. One last thing would also be great is if the file does not exist it would write a error value.

I receive a workbook each day with approx 500 tabs of call data and I would like to relabel all the tabs with the user names. The user names are in a merged range "A7:M7". I'm having difficulty getting the following script to rename the sheets. Currently the values in "A7:M7" look like "User: ADAM ENGEMANN-558".
I am trying to delete each occurrence of "User: " while naming the sheets as well as removing the merged range before doing so that the names are in A7 only. The sheet names should look like "ADAM ENGEMANN-558", or, ideally just "ADAM ENGEMANN". For some reason my code will not modify the cells. (See attached example)
This works if I manually unmerge the cells before running and remove the ":".

What I wanted was to a function, say, "=LastModifiedDateOf(CELL)", where CELL, is a parameter that indicates the cell I want to monitor. If the value of such cell ever gets changed, the cell containing the function has its value updated to the current date.
E.g.
A1 = "AA"
A2 = "=LastModifiedDateOf(A1)" -> "10/03/2011 10:30:32"
-- Make an update:
A1 = "BB"
A2 = "=LastModifiedDateOf(A1)" -> "14/02/2012 12:15:11"
I'm not quite a super user in Excel, but this function would be very very useful for me.

I need to insert a date modified column to an Excel 2007 workbook I am currently using. The columns range is from A to L, with about a hundred data points. However, I would like to have the date modified cell update only when there are changes to rows F through L, starting with row 3.
I need the code to still function if I add rows, and it would be great if it would also still run if I added columns, but that part is not necessary. I've gotten close by defining a cell name as myCol and using this code:

I've written a macro to copy data from a series of columns on one sheet and past it on another sheet in a specific way. However, what I really want to do, is write the macro so it automatically detects what the last column is, either by defining a range consisting of the last column, or by writing "Last Column" in one of the cells of the column, and having the macro detect it.

I need method, using a button, that looks at a cell--say EO2, for example--, looks back on a master worksheet at a specified row and range for a match, then looks at the information from a specified range below the matching cell (The information in this column will either be blank or have an "X" in the cell), and then those rows that do not have an "X" will be hidden in the corresponding rows in the working worksheet. Therefore, if at any time the value in "EO2" ever changes, then it will automatically find a new match and repopulate and hide information as before. About 130 columns will have its own button so that a "query" can be made that depends on the information in a particular cell in that column.
The master worksheet now has matrix of 287 rows and 58 columns. Each row is for an operating procedure and each column shows a job code. An "X" in a coordinate cell for a column/row shows whether that job code is responsible for knowing that operating procedure. So, on the working sheet, an employee's primary job code is given underneath his or her name. When the button is pushed, all the operating procedures not required for a given person will be hidden and only the required ones will remain visible--grouped, if you will. Qualification dates will be easier to see now that the information is consolidated. Whenever someone transfers to a new position, a new code will be inputed on the working sheet. When the button is pushed, a new grouping will result. Any operating instructions that overlap will still have qualification dates, so that information will not need to be transcribed.

In my company we have many spreadsheets with sections that contain formulas, which may be overwritten with "hard coding", manually entered constants, in certain situations.
Is there a way I can detect the differences between the two types of cells? I would like to setup conditional formatting that would highlight constants in a table that would generally only contains formulas.

It worked well at the time and continues to work well.
The problem I have is that I've copied it for use in a new workbook and for some reason it's not picking up email addresses and storing them in the string "stemails", so that when the email is created there are no addressees. Column BA does have email addresses in it however.

Using Workbook_SheetChange(ByVal Sh As Object, ByVal Target As Range) I can execute code when values in the cell change, but it can't check if the foreground or background color changes. What event can detect this? If no event can, is there any way at all?
