how I can modify the code such that any cells in the range "b1:b504" in Sheet1 of the the new workbook can't be selected or edited without a password....I have tried unsuccessfully using Protect but am not sure how to get vba to set it to specific cells and determine exactly what is allowed in those cells.
My company has files that are already in use. I don't know too many details about how they work, but somehow saving the file will screw it up and my boss has to go back and reset something or other to correct it. Obviously it's connected to some other software somewhere. The code below will block Save and Save-As. BUT how do I get the file to hold onto the code without actually saving the file after the code is added (since the file shouldn't be saved)?

I suspect this is extremely basic however how do I do the following in VBA? I have dataset with a column having a row of numbers as: 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, etc. What I want to do is copy some information designated by the first 1 then the first 2 then the first 3 to another worksheet leaving the other data. How do I selectively choose the first of the 1, 2 and 3 etc.

The line in italics is the one causing the problem, I keep getting "Object variable or With block not set" error.
aus and boxi are both publicly defined in the module to be worksheet.
I would like to create a spreadsheet where I enter a list of 30 – 40 names and associated data over 4 separate columns. I would like the option of having a check box next to each name so when checked, it copies that name and associated data in to a section below. This will give me a reduced list of names (lets say 20). From this section I would like the same again to reduce further and once more after that.

Rows "H" and "I" may contain the same words, "H" will be only one word, "I" will contain a string of words w/ the first word matching the word in "H", eg. H6 = "Alien" (w/out "") I6 = "Alien W. A.V.E (w/out "")
I would like to put a block of code that evaluates H6 to I6 and if they match then delete the first word and the space in I6.
This would be done over the range of H6:I and the last cell populated in "I".
The following macro gives me two types of error messages:

And I could not understand why...
What I am trying to do is delete a couple of rows with unnecessary information, then copy the rest in different columns, not in one as they are now. I have no problem with the second part of the macro - it worked just fine before I added the part where the rows, containing "Share", "Save", "Email a Friend", "TRUE and the empty rows are supposed to be deleted.
I have a dropdown list in C24:C50 (=CategoryList) with data validation and a sub list in D24:D50 (=ItemList) with data validation. I am looking for a way to have code automatically run after selecting an item in the data validation dropdown list in column C.
Example; I click on C24 and make a selection. I what it to trigger code that would move me to D24 and open up the data validation list in D24. After the selection in D24 I would like it to move me back and down 1 row to C25. I have not found anything directly related to this but I have found that code can be run after a selection in a valadition list.

I'm fairly new to macro's and VBA, by searching on the internet i've copied and pasted some code together into a macro. But it ends in a Run-time error 91...
The macro opens a target .xls file in a selected folder, performs copy - paste actions from masterfile to targetfile. Than it filters data in the targetfile sheet1 and copy's the results to the various other sheets; saves and closes the targetfile. The next target file in the folder is opened and the actions are repeated in this second target file. For the first target file this works smoothly; but for the second one (of a total of around 100) it does not copy the filter results to the other sheets in this workbook. The error message i get is: "Run-time error 91:Object variable or with block variable not set." When i hit debug it highlights the line "ActiveSheet.Next.Select" which, at least in the first file, seems ok.
I Wrote a code which as intended to open each excel file in a folder and copy the data containing in it into a new sheet.

I attempted to modify "macro_1a1ay" to look into the "comments" sheet (column a) for a specific text string. If that text string is found, I have it delete the entire row, then re-sort the page and return to the calling page. It works well as long as it finds something. When it does not find the string (i.e. like now when the page is blank) it gives me the run-time error mentioned above.
I am having a lot of trouble finding out why I am getting error. I believe the error is because it can't find the number. In cells C115:C314 i have the numbers 1 to 200 in order. when someone types in 1 to 9 in the text box it works, but on 10 and over i get the error ???? here is the code I have

Using the message box I see that sheet 1 opens but then I receive an error message Run Time Error 91, Object Variable or With Block Variable not set. I tried declaring and using set on "project" but got nowhere. I also need to have a message indicating project not found. Once this part is solved I will loop all of my other workbooks
I have got a UserForm to search data from worksheet and show it in userform.
In my search userform, the data is searched by first selecting " Year " and then " Batch Number " (Two Batches runs in a Year) so I filled combo boxes with "Batch 1" and "Batch 2"
for example "Year 2013 " would have "Batch 1 and Batch 2" "Year 2014" would have "Batch 1 and Batch 2"
In my worksheet, it has Data for "Year 2013" and data for "Year 2014" has not yet been inserted.
The Problem is that when In the Userform I select " Year 2013 " and select Batch 1 or 2 it shows data in list box and in textboxes.
But when I select "Year 2014" and select "Batch 1" or "Batch 2" it gives error. I know there is no data for "Year 2014" yet in the worksheet, but I want it should not give error in vba coding, But It should display MsgBox "No record found"

I've set up a userform (frmCoC) to read and write info to the "contractor database". Within that userform is a listview control that reads off a second, "induction database".
