I am trying to fill an array with only a few values within a loop (when XspacingA is 0.5, add the value of the Line to the array) and keep getting the error "Subscript out of range".

View 3 Replies View RelatedIm doing an assignment for my VBA class and im in a jam.I have a form with a listbox and numerous textboxes. The user is to select a name and then the information from this name fills the corresponding boxes.
First off, my teacher is horrible, i have to learn by just reading so that's why I'm so puzzled. I have an array i made by importing/parsing a text file. I've attached the .txt file for reference. I currently want to add just the names from the array to then when the user selects the name, fill the remaining boxes with the corresponding information.
This is what I have thus far...

I have a quick question in relation to filling a range with an array.
When I use the following code:

I'm experimenting with arrays and would like to get better at them, but this has me stumped for the moment. How to get the values to work going down, like they do going across.
The above code is a small sample of data, I am wating to replicate with using over 80K lines and cell by cell is too slow.
This workbook is designed to prompt the user with inputboxes allowing them to enter a name, hyperlink a file to that name, and then a date. Next all the drawing names are read into an array and stored. Along with some minor sheet formatting, this is what happens when the button "Add Drawing" is clicked.
Next, when the button "Revise Drawing" is clicked, the user will be prompted with an inputbox for a drawing name. This name will be compared to the names in the array. If the name is found, the row containing that drawing will selected and the user will be prompted to update the hyperlink, then the "drawing date" will be moved to the right by one column, then the user will be prompted for another date replacing the date that was moved. The first sequence of commands or button works fine. The button "Revise Drawing" prompts the user with the inputbox requesting the revised drawing name, then develops the runtime error 1004.

I want to use BLOCK 2 to populate mgNames so that only specific values are filled into mgNames. I am trying to declare a dynamic sized array. When the code runs, I get 2 errors:
Compile error, array already dimensioned (on the redim line)
when I remove the redim statement I get
error 9 - subscript out of range

I am trying to make an "Occurrence Selector" for our documents, because we want to import some data from HTML files we recieve and fill in a CSV Template. The problem is, the HTML files we receive contains a lot of information, and about half of the information is usefull for us. Therefor we want to select some occurrences and not all of them.
All i want is the user to input the occurrence number in the inputbox, and then the macro simply search for "Occurrence #(firstinput)",does its job, then "Occurrence #(secondinput)",does its job again, and so on until all of the required occurences have been transplanted into the CSV file.
This is what i currently have

When i input anything, i get an error message stating my formula has an error.
I have a userform containing 3 textboxes, to calculate derivatives.
User enters two integers in textbox1 and textbox2; and to textbox 3, I need to transfer these values but with a little issue.
For example, user entered 3 to textbox1 and 5 to textbox2. In textbox 3, it needs to show 3x^5.
For example, user entered 7 to textbox1 and 2 to textbox2. In textbox 3, it needs to show 7x^2.
So "x" and "^" are our defaults in textbox3.I tried to transfer the numbers that the user enters to cells A1 and A2, -I don't know if this works- but I don't know how to call them to change the text in the textbox.

I have two worksheets. One that contains material pricing and another that has misc data, formulas, etc. I have 100 rows of data with 2 columns. Column A I have numerical values. Column B I have a formula =(A1/36.4)*sheet1!C7. I try to drag down the formula but the value for sheet1!c7 changes as I go down (sheet1!c8 then sheet1!c9 and so on). How can I drag down the formula and have the SINGLE value from worksheet 1 carry to all rows?

I need to repeat this loop for values from X101 to X151. In all cases, the sheet name is equal to the value I'm looking up (eg: value = X102 goes to sheet X102).
I have a named range called 'territories' that contains the list of X101 -> X152.
I'm hoping to make the code perform the loop for each of the territories without my having to copy & paste and change the 'X101' 51 times as this would seem a rather silly thing to do!

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have inherited a spreadsheet with over 800 rows (and daily expanding) and 14 columns of data. I've attached a sheet that looks similar, with only 200 rows for reference. Here are my questions:
1. How can I delete all rows that contain no values?
2. I want to fill an entire row of data yellow if the values in the final two cells (L&M) in the row are equal, and red if they aren't. How can I do that?
3. Column A contains only dates, from oldest to newest. I'd like an obvious visual clue for when the months change. Currently it's a long, merged, blue-filled cell that says "March 2011", for instance. It can't be color because all cells need to be filled based on certain criteria (see #2), and borders aren't obvious enough.
4. I want to click on the row number on the very right, but have it select only columns A-M, is that possible?
I'm also having trouble with autofill. It seems to only work on parts of the spreadsheet. I don't know what settings may have been changed, but I do have autocomplete turned on, and no clue what to do despite hours of googling.

I faced a problem to attach this small WB as an XLS
I'm looking for some way to some the red cells without looping.
In this example the array was filled with A1:A10 values.
In the real situation the array gets its values from other source than a Worksheet Range.
As you can see I manged to transport the Array Values to F1:F10 and from here I could calculate the sum of F3:F8 but I do not want to use any helper columns.

the routine works fine when the i variable is hard coded, but once the above is included it fails (Error 10 This array is fixed or temporarily locked).
I've built a simple inventory tracking system, and decided a reporting feature would be nice. There are four categories that are entered when inventory is removed...Date, Employee Name, Item Description, Location, and quantity.
Four my reporting purposes I'm only concerned with Date, Employee name and Item Description.
I've been able to write code that does what I want using a multiple Cases and a For loop once the case is identified. However, the more data there is the longer this takes...so I decided to stretch myself and try my hand at arrays (first time really working with arrays), but I'm having trouble figuring out exactly what I need to do.
Here is what I think the steps need to be.
1. Store my data (the categories above) which are located in the Check Out sheet
2. Go through the arrayed data to find exact matches based on my search criteria (here is where the Cases come in)
3. Pull out only that data and write the information to a "Report" Sheet
4. Export that sheet to PDF (this part I already have)
Below is a copy of what my current "working" code looks like (I should mention that the search selections are made from a userform this is what the Cases are deciphering between which ones are blank etc...), also most of my variables are instantiated as Public variables within a Public_Variables module also below.

I have a For loop, its an array with 5 file names in it. The loop checks for the files in the path, and if the file is there it places the file in the corresponding sheet in the workbook. If it is not, I get the option to browse for the file. Originally all 5 files were required, however now the requirements changed and only 4 are required the last file "byband.csv" is not required. So they want the option a message box telling the user the file is not required they can browse or keep going.
I worked out the second part but only by taking "byband.csv" out of the loop and writing a separate procedure for it, I wondered if in my original procedure I could isolate "byband" and if not found go to another part of the procedure. Basically, I needed to do the following:
If the file in the array byBand.csv is not found, Then:

trying to loop through an array, with each loop calculating a formula (VLOOKUP) for one cell based on the values of a cell in another sheet.
Not sure but I think it has something to do with looking up a text value while the loop returns a value.
