If ws.Name "DataTable" And ws.Name "Summary" Then ws.Activate
code to do some copy/paste stuff ....
Try as I may, I can't get the code to skip the worksheets named "DataTable" and "Summary". Based on other posts, I've tried swapping out the And for an Or. Also tried using LCase(ws.Name), to no avail. Note that I'm acually trying to skip several other sheets as well but only listed two here for simplicity.
using Excel 2007. I need a code to identify a worksheet within a workbook by cell/range value. The book is used by various users. They have the rights to add new sheets and all but delete columns in the 'master worksheet'. The sheet names can be changed by the user but I need to rename the master sheet on opening the file. To do this I have put a specific value in a cell within the master worksheet which then should allow me to find the sheet and rename it. (let say Range A1 has a value of "this sheet") I have a mental block on how i can run a loop to search each sheet for the identifying value until the range and value is found and the sheet identified
I am having an issue getting an IF statement to work inside a DO loop. I have Microsoft Excel 2007 and Windows 7 Entreprise.
In my Excel spreadsheet, I have in column B a list of keywords and in column C the category to which each keyword belongs. For instance, the keyword "boot" goes withe the category "Shoes", "scarf" goes in "Accessories", etc.
In another column, I have a list of product descriptions (like "Black Boots" or "Silk Scarf") and I would like to assign the relevant category to each product. I thought to do this by creating a new function in VBA. This function would go through the whole list of keywords in column B, checking if the keyword is included in the product description. If it is, the function's result would be the relevant category, and if it is not, the function would search the next line in column B, until a relevant keyword is found, or until the end of the list.
Here is the code I have written so far:
Code: Function SegmentSearch(Item) Dim i As Integer i = 1 Do i = i + 1
If Application.WorksheetFunction.IsNumber(Application.WorksheetFunction.Search(Sheet5.Cells(i, 2), Item)) = "TRUE" Then SegmentSearch = Cells(i, 3) Loop Until Application.WorksheetFunction.IsNumber(Application.WorksheetFunction.Search(Sheet5.Cells(i, 2), Item)) = "TRUE" End Function
Without the loop, the function works fine (if "Item" happens to include the first keyword in the list) but as soon as I try putting the loop I get a #VALUE! error.
I'd like to miss out a loop in my For/Next code. Basically I've written the code below which inserts a few rows above the object cell if it doesn't match the previous cell (to seperate my data). In light of the fact that I've inserted rows, the object cell is now a blank cell, so when my For/Next statement continues it insert some more rows thinking that the previous cell doesn't match the object cell. I wondered if it was possible to skip the object cell forward so the For/Next statement can continue in the place it left off (in effect, it would be like going to "Next" twice without doing any of the code in between).
Set SubAss = Range("A11:A10000") Cr = 0 prevcell = Range("A11")
For Each cell In SubAss If cell.Value <> prevcell Then prevcell = cell.Value cell.Range("A1:A3").EntireRow.Insert cell.Offset(-2, 1) = " Total" cell.Offset(-2, 1).Font.Bold = True r = 6
The workbook has two worksheets "Data" & "Crunch". "Data" contains the raw data-range B1:U50. "Crunch" is the processing worksheet. Row 1 is a header row. Columns A-D are empty. Column E (rows 2-81) contain the numbers 1-80.
The macro is intended to run in "Crunch". I need to add the CountIf function in every cell/row filling the range F2:BC81. A loop does the trick for me to fill the rows in each column but I don't know how to move the loop down each column without creating a new loop.
A section of the code is below. Notice a majority of the code is the same, the copy in red is variable from loop to loop. I need to repeat this loop through column "BC" (50 times in total). My guess is there is a way to write this code one time instead of 50 times adjusting the variable components.
Code: 'Find total # of records and then store in variable totalrecords = ActiveSheet.UsedRange.Rows.Count 'CountIf Statement
Background: - Excel VBA 2007 - I have a macro that inserts a set of vlookups in range D3:D8. - When D3:D8 has been filled, I need the macro to COPY the Vlookups in D3:D8, skip down one cell, and paste in the next set of open spaces. - I have a Do statement that isn't working, and and IF...THEN that quits the loop when a blank cell is found (This means the range of vlookups is no longer needed).
Objectives: - Fix Do...Loop so it copies D3 throuh D8, skips a cell below D8, and Pastes in the next section? - There will sometimes be only one section to paste in, and sometimes 20. It is dynamic.
Sub InsertVLookup2() ' This macro inserts the VLookup into cell B2 Dim lastcolumn As Long Range("D3").Formula = "=VLOOKUP($A2,INDIRECT(""'"" & B$1 & ""'!A:I""),9,FALSE)" Range("D3").Select
I have a For Each...Next loop to read and write data from one workbook to another. Now, it's possible but unlikely that a certain "wellindex" (as defined by the Column A value) occurs more than once in the source spreadsheet, and only the most recent value should be used. And now to the actual question. Currently my macro runs a check to see if the current cell's wellindex has already been used, and if so, then it warns the user of potential double-entry. What I'd like to have it do is have it check whether the current cell's wellindex has duplicates further down (e.g., using a "findnext" method), and if so, then skip to the next cell in the For...next loop. I know that I can exit a loop with "Exit For" but I don't know how to have it go straight to "Next c" without embedding everything in an If statement.
Sub DataImport() 'Define variables Dim sourcedata, sourcename, originname, sourcedate As String 'filename variables Dim wellindex, ch4, co2, o2, bal, adj, com As String 'data variables Dim cor, owp, owp2 As String, overwrite As Integer 'prompting variables overwrite = 0 'Set up the data source originname = ActiveWorkbook.Name sourcedata = Application. GetOpenFilename("Data Output Files (*.csv), *.csv", , "Open the source file").........................
(Excel 2007) The issue I'm having is that a loop statement of mine is failing to recognize that a couple values are equal. It works for the first 3 iterations of the loop, then stops recognizing. I tried copying another set of numbers in the failing one's place, and that actually worked. I can't attach anything, so I'm including a link to a detailed screen shot with some notes on it and code that I'll host on my site. Not sure how else to explain the issue, but if you take a look at the screen shot you can see the excel sheet being worked on and the vba code running. I will also include a text file of the code
Here are the links to the screen shot and text file of my code Text file Screen Shot
I have a very long routine, looping through 35,000-ish rows several times to detect and delete unwanted items. Occasionally, it gets locked into an endless loop and CTRL+Break will not stop it - I have to kill Excel through the Task Manager.
How can I find out where the endless loop is so I can detect what's causingit and fix it?
I'm a novice using Excel 2007 at work and some of my worksheets have vanished.
On Friday I opened up an existing single-sheet workbook; while I was working on it I renamed the original sheet and added two new sheets. Obviously, I saved everything before I shut the file.
Today I've opened up the workbook and the two new sheets have vanished. Strangely, the original sheet has reverted to its original name (also the name of the workbook), but the changes I made to the data on Friday remain. The Properties window indicates there is only one sheet in this workbook, and confirms that the last save was made at the end of Friday.
The workbook is saved as an Excel Comma Separated Values file. I don't know if this is relevent.
i have an excel 2007 spreadsheet where i keep baseball stats. On the pitching side have a column for the pitchers innings pitch. The data kooks like this:
1.0 1.1 1.2
where the numbers after decimal points represents thirds of an inning. In my spreadsheet i have 4 workheets of different divisions that have a breakdown of each team the team i am keeping stats for plays.
i manually enter the innings pitched in the totals for the season as i cannot figure out how to add these numbers from the individual worksheets to calculate the right number. once the number after the decimal point is greater than two than another full inning is recorded not a continuation of the number.
Example pitcher has already pitched 2.2 innings and he pitches 1.2 innings today making a total of 3.4 which should really be 3.1 one last one pitcher has pitched .2 innings and pitches .1 today making a total of .3 innings pitched but it should be 1.0 innings pitched. proper formula to sum the correct totals in the totals worksheet. i am at a loss and ihave been working on this problem for a little while with no luck.
I have a workbook with 4 sheets and with sheet 5 as a "consolidated" sheet. I have to create the macro, which will on a daily basis copy the populated data from those 4 sheets and paste into the sheet 5 (same workbook). The data in the Sheet 5 should be pasted from row 2 below each other.. Row 1 will be the headings and shouldn't be replaced. The data in all 4 sheets should be copied from row starting 37, columns C to BA but it will end with different row numbers. note that columns A & B are populated but shouldn't be copied.
very basic Excel user (using Excel 2007). Trying to see how I can use the VLookup function from multiple worksheets to get an average. I know it can be done, but just not sure how to go about doing that. My spreadsheet is attached - basically what I want to do is to get an average for the individuals listed in the "Consensus" tab for the figures that appear in Worksheets "1", "2" and "3".
In Worksheet 1 Column AQ contains a Cost Centre number which I would like to extract the parent description of in Column BI of the same Worksheet and then the child description into Column BJ. Worksheet 1 currently has 16000+ rows and grows daily. The location of the Cost Centre in Worksheets 2-4 is contained in Column A and the Parent Description in Column W and the Child Description in Column Y.I am currently using this INDEX MATCH formula to search all worksheets but as you can imagine it's tediously slow and needless to say sometimes not reporting/updating the values correctly likely because it's frozen.
=VLOOKUP(AQ2,INDIRECT("'"&INDEX(Sheet1!$A$1:$A$4,MATCH(TRUE, COUNTIF(INDIRECT("'"&Sheet1!$A$1:$A$4&"'!A2:A63355"),AQ2)>0,0))&"'!A2:W63355"),23,0) this looks up Cost Centre in Worksheet 1 Column AQ and returns the results from Column W in Worksheets 2-4 to Worksheet 1 Column BI
I am using Excel 2007. I have a population that I used to create a pivot table. I am currently double clicking on the value cells to create worksheets of only particular "row label" categories. I am then copying the "row label" information into the newly generated work sheet name tab. This works fine when I only have a few "row label" categories to do but it is tedious if there are many categories.
Is there any way to automate the creation of work sheets for all row label values and also naming each work sheet tab with it's respective row label information. Here are images of the pibot table and the type of work sheet I would like for wall row label values.
I have a excel 2007 workbook that has 5 sheets "MASTER" , "RED" , "WHITE", "GOLD" & "BLUE". There are 7 columns in each sheet and the master has about 8,000 rows . In column D of each sheet there is a unique number (approx. 8 - 10 digits ) that I would like to at the press of a command button search through sheets "RED" "WHITE" "GOLD" & "BLUE" against the unique numbers in the "MASTER" sheet and if there any duplicates numbers delete the entire row but leave all the data in the master sheet.
I am trying to copy worksheets from a master workbook to numerous other destination workbooks. I would like the code to check if the destination workbooks already contain any of the sheets being copied and if this is the case, miss out that sheet and move on to the next. Currently, if duplicate sheets are present, a second sheet is created and copied to the destination file.
VB: Sub CopyTrend() Dim Filename1, sFileNameAndPath, sThisWorkbookName As String
In Excel 2007, Windows 7 Home Premium, I am trying to summarise multiple worksheets into one sheet, creating a list in one column in this summary sheet that includes the cell contents from the same cell from each sheet. For example, my first sheet is called KCD183 and I want to list the value from KCD183 Cell A2 in my Summary Cell A2, then show KCD184 Cell A2 in Summary Cell A3 (i.e. the next row down). So my Summary sheet will list all cell A2s from all my sheets, 1 after the other down column A and will continue to add these for any new sheets I add.
I realise that I could just export the spreadsheet to Access and report on it from there, but I don't have the software!
I have data from (row 1, column 1) to (row 53, column 5) on 283 consecutive worksheets in a singular excel file that I would like to be presented on a singular worksheet starting from the data on worksheet 1 and descending to the data on worksheet 283.
I am looking for a copy and paste loop solution that will copy the data from each page and sequentially paste the results on a singular output page in descending order (worksheet 1 data, worksheet 2 data... etc) so that I can sort the data.
I have a workbook that contains, say, 50 worksheets: the first two worksheets summarise the data and are static in that they don't move position. However, the next four worksheets contain certain data for any given month. Each time a new month comes along, say, November, I insert four new worksheets after the two static ones as a result October's four worksheets are simply moved down the line in terms of worksheet order.
I need a macro to refer to the first six worksheets only (not the other tabs). I opted for index referencing for each worksheet, ie one - six. Now within these six worksheets in any given month, I need to sort the data by a certain column. The problem: in sheets 1,4,5 and 6 I need to rank by column E, but in sheets 2 and 3 I need to rank by column C. I have stepped through the code, which works for sheets 3-6, but doesn't seem to refer to sheets 1-2.
Sub WorksheetLoop() ' ' Loop through an indexed number of worksheets; _ ' & this ensures that the worksheet range is dynamic _ ' and is able to adjust when new sheets are added/removed, etc. ' 'Dim ws As Worksheet Dim i As Long Dim ws As Worksheet
Just need to delete some hyperlinks in column A on 50+ worksheets. Thought a loop through all the worksheets would do it. Only works on active sheet. Forgive my ignorance, don't really even know where it goes, once it works - module or workbook?
I have an Excel Spreadsheet (2007) that contains over 500,000 records that shows Electric meter usage per month over a 24 month period per meter. What I want to be able to do is to select a meter row per number and copy is to it's own worksheet. At the end - I want to be able to have a seperate worksheet per electric meter number - that I can create a graph. If I go through all 9000 meters and copy and paste into a different worksheet - it will take me weeks to do manually. How can I do this automatically?
I have set up a formula to sum data from specific columns in multiple sheets in the same file. The simple formula had worked perfectly until I needed the data from the last sheet. In all of the other sheets the data that I need to pull is all in consecutive rows but in the last sheet the data that I need pulled and added is in every 4th row. The sheet looks like this:
All of the columns I've filled in work fine. The ones blank are the ones I am running into issues with. When I drag down the formulas excel pulls the next consecutive rows, which is perfect for the first four sheets I am summing, but for the fifth sheet (I'll ref the Test1 column) I need it to pull 'Wayne 2014'!C6 and then 'Wayne 2014'!C10 in the next row and so forth.
Date All Test Test1 Test2 Test3 Test4 $ Amt.
The first four sheets look like this, which is why they work fine:
Date All Test Test1 Test2 Test3 $ Amt.
Jan. 16 =SUM(C2:E2)
The fifth sheet looks like this: I only want the formulas from the first sheet to pull the data from the dated rows in this sheet.
Date All Test Test1 Test2 Test3 $ Amt.
Jan. 16 =SUM(C2:E2) =SUM(C3:C5)
Is there any way in Excel 2010 to get it do what I want? (I am not sure how that one cell became outlined and I do not know how to fix it.)
I have class monday, tuesday, wednesday & friday but no class thursday. How can I make automatically fill in dates for weekdays only and skip thursday using excel 2013's "Fill" function then "series" ??
I have a list in Excel, and it has the company in one column, and it's information in the next x rows until there is a blank row (4-7 rows). I get that you can copy the rows under the Company, transpose next to the company, and then delete the contents of the cells that you just took the data from, but I have 6200 rows do to this to, for 500+ companies. I tried recording a macro for two entries, and this is what I have (see below), but how do I modify this so that I don't need to type in every single range, and it will do it to the whole column? The data is in column A, I am posting in column B.
Basics for Macro Requirement:
1. Find the blank cell in row A 2. Skip the next cell/row (this is the company) 3. Select all the cells beneath the company cell, until it reaches the blank cell underneath 4. Copy, transpose these cells next to the Company cell (transpose in column B) 5. Delete the contents in row A that were just transposed 6. Find the next cell with data (company) 7. Repeat Steps 2-6
