Excel 2010 :: Count Days Between Last Two Occurrences Of Value In Row?
Nov 9, 2012
I have a spreadsheet with 6 months of data in one row. the dates are from A3 (Jan 1) to FY3 (Jun 30). The data is in range A4:FY4. The data is a "$" (without quotes). The $'s are entered randomly during the 6 month period. I need a formula to determine the days between the last occurrence and the next to last occurrence of the $. Example spreadsheet shows the $'s on Mar 28 and May 5 as the last two. The spreadsheet is attached. I am using Microsoft Office Excel 2010.
I have data arranged in a worksheet (see attachment) that has hours of work broken down by day. What I need is a formula that will find the number of times a record occurred in Column F that is greater than or equal to 12 hours each day. So for March 1st there would be 9 times. I can do that now with no problem using "=COUNTIF(F4:F14,">=12")" However, the real thing that I need is how many days of each month were there only 1 count (of 12 hours or more). So it needs to look at the range of data that goes from 3/1/13 to 3/31/13 and find the total number of days that had 1 count (of 12 hours or more) each day and return the number of days it found.
I'm having trouble defining the time overlaps on continuous days for the varying results of the runs for my simulation.
For the following data set, without counting overlaps there are 18 total spare requirements, but if I take into account their overlaps in their duration there should be a total of 11 per day. For example in row 4 this event overlapped in the same day with the event of row 5 so both had only 2 overlaps as a result (So there is not possible to be 1 as an answer for overlap, there is only from 2 to "n" amount or 0).
But if an event overlaps with more than one in their duration the result would be their maximum overlap during this time frame.
So then I have for each event an Starting date, starting time, duration, ending date and ending duration. And for each day I would need the total amount of overlaps occurred for the duration of each event and from those I would take their maximum amount of overlaps occurred per day. To obtain their real requirement as shown on the file.
The manual procedure I'm using looks like this for the first day: (Graphical representation)
Event 1 occurs from 17:02 to 20:29 and only overlaps with Event 3, so it's 2
Event 2 occurs from 20:38 to 23:38, also only overlaps with Event 3, then its also a 2
For Event 3 in its whole duration only overlapped with Even 1 and Event 2, one at a time so its maximum overlaps where only 2.
And that's what I'm using so far to determine these amounts but since is a simulation, I would end up with several data from each run and this method would be too long. That's why I would need this template to paste data for each run (15 days) and obtain my results faster.
I am using Excel 2010, and trying to count the number of times a certain name occurs within a specified date period. The date range start date is manually entered in F7, and the date range end date is manually entered in F8. I need to be able to choose different reporting periods. The answer to this question goes into F3.
I also want to know how many working days (Column D) it takes per name. A working day is Monday-Friday, less public holidays. In this period there have been public holidays from 24 December until 2 January (inclusive), 20 January, 6 February, 18 April, 21 April, and 25 April. I put these dates manually into the worksheet "Holidays".
For the number of times a certain name occurs I tried the COUNTIFS function but keep getting a "zero" value. I used the NETWORKINGDAYS function for the working days and have incorporated the holiday periods. That seems to work OK and I can live with the negative date values showing here.
The really tricky part for me - can I combine the COUNTIFS (assuming it works) and NETWORKINGDAYS functions into a single function to only count the working days of a specific name. As some names have yet to be completed (i.e. there is no data in Column C) how do I not count those? The answer to this question goes into F4.
There will be about 6 of these spreadsheets, and I intend to link all worksheet data into a "master" spreadsheet which automatically updates whenever it is opened. The separate spreadsheets are stored in a document management system rather than a network drive so I can't state a filepath.
In a datafile I have one column containing a trip 'origin' and a second column contains 'destinations'. I want to count how many times each trip occurs (so the same origin/destination pair). This is doable using COUNTIFS but unfortunately respondents did not provide consequent origins and destinations. I encountered the following formulations
Since the format is different among and within respondents functions containing LEFT, RIGHT, MID are not useful (at least, my trials did fail). I found a VBA-script for a FUZZYVLOOKUP which sounded promising. Unfortunately the data is stored on a remote PC without VBA on it.
Is there a way to count the occurrences of trips given the circumstances?
I realise this is beyond me and wonder if it is possible to list uniqure values in excel and place a count occurrences of each. I have a hugh list of over 400 alpha code i.e ABCD, ABCD, ABCE, BDCE, BDCF ZXYE etc etc. What I'd like to do is pick out all the unique values so I can see what alpha codes are on the list. But then I would also like to count the occurrences of each value/name so I know how many times they appeared on the list.
Col A ABCD ABCD ABCE BDCE BDCF ZXYE ZXYE YEZY CDEF
Col B is where i would like to list all the unquie vaules with a count e.g. ABCD 2 ABCE 1 BDCE 1 BDCF 1 ZXYE 2 YEZY 1 CDEF 1
I am using Excel 2010. The template only has 5 working days in it, but I need to set 6 working days (Saturday is also working day). Wondering, how to get this working without spoiling the functions. Also the date format is in US , need to change to UK without disrupting the Formula/Functions.
Need a formula to calculate the number of leave days.
C3 - Start Date, e.g. 01/07/2011 D3 - Calculation date, e.g. 31/12/2012 E3 - Number of months - ??????? Forumal need from 01/07/2011 to 31/12/2012 F3 - Days per month, e.g. 1.25 G3 - E3*F3
I am trying to come up with a formula that will return a total average from two columns of dates with criteria. The range will need to cover an entire column as my data is continuously growing and the criteria would have to limit the start date to each month. I have tried
Im using Excel 2010 and want to make a formula that will High light the number when it exceeds the past 30 days average. My information is listed vertically in row F..
I am using Excel 2010. I am tracking client orders on a spreadsheet. I would like to offer a 60 percent rebate on revenue from orders placed between the first order date and 30 calendar days thereafter. On day 31 and continuing through day 60, I would like to offer a 40% rebate. On orders placed on day 61 through 90, I would like to offer a rebate of 20%. From all of the orders placed by clients who start ordering on different dates, I need to sum their order revenue in these three time periods. I have the individual client order data arrayed on my spreadsheet - one order per row.
I am capturing the unique client ID number (Column A), the order date (Column B), and the associated revenue (Column C). Keying off of their unique ID number, I would like to calculate the sum of how much revenue is generated in calendar days 1 through 30, days 31 through 60, and days 61 through 90 from the very first order date from any given client. The start date can be any date in the month, so I can not rely on any calculation that uses the calendar month. Orders are not necessarily placed every day. Multiple orders may be placed on any given day, and then no orders may follow for many days afterward.
Im having a hard time creating the formula to calculate the min number of employees to complete a number of jobs that come in each day and need to be finished in 18 days or less.
Data that I have:
Forecast of the number of jobs for 251 days ( jobs range from 10 -80 per day) Each job needs to be finished in 18 days or less we need to staff a fixed number of employees for the whole year each employee can complete 4 jobs per day no weekends
Excel 2010 - I need to create a graph that shows a week's use of a sportsground showing what sports were played, on which days and between which times. I thought I could show the times on the vertical axis, days on the horizontal axis and then the sports played in those times, however I'm unsure as to how to get the graph to recognise the times.
I've attached an example of some data and how I'd like to see it, I'm just not sure how I can do this using the chart set up!
how to make my network days stop counting when I insert a value in the completed column (in this case H3). I have a Date Received column (A3), a due day column (G3) and the last column with the date (N3). My remaining days column keeps counting after I filled the completed cell (H3) and won't stop counting after. I need a formula to stop after the completed cell is fill up.
There are dates in column C and I need to count how many days are coming due within 90 days of each date based on the today() function but do not exceed the 90 days.
I have a simple pivot table that is types by state. I want to know how many types are in each state. In the attached image the answer for Alaska is 5, for Arizona 5, for Arkansas 1, etc. How do I get Excel to tell me that for each state?
I'm using Excel 2010. I have PowerPivot installed but really don't know how to use it yet.
I want the formula to count the different numbers in the second column based on the first column. The results should show, 972 equals 3, 214 equals 1, 765 equals 2.
I am trying to separate this out but it keeps putting this paragraph.
I'm doing a study of when people are most productful in their day. I just need to count how many units a person made within say 4 hours of starting work.
Sheet 1 contains range B12:B353 with names of people. Sheet 2 range B12:B353 contains a formula to extract the names from Sheet 1 if range D12:D353 contains a certain value:
=IF(Sheet1!D12:D354="A",(Sheet1!B12:B353)," ")
At the bottom of each column in Sheet 2 I am trying to get a total count of populated cells (a running count of names actually visible). I have inserted formula:
=COUNTA(B12:B353)
Which should count the number of cells with text in them, right? But I believe it's somehow counting the formula as text because I inserted the value of "A" in Sheet 1 Column D for 3 names. It returned a number of 331 at the bottom of my column in Sheet 2. First off, a return of 331 doesn't make sense in any way (still scratching my head at this return. It should have returned a value of 3.
