Excel 2010 :: Change To Lower Case And Manually Align To Left

I'm using Excel 2010. When I type 'true' or 'false' in any cell, Excel automatically changes to CAPITAL and Align Centre. I have to use the function 'lower' to change to lower case and manually to align to the left.

How to change the default setting.

I am trying to change string values of a name from uppercase to lowercase. The data is layed out as lastname then first name. As an example, I have the following values in column C:

I would like to format a row of cells so that when a word is entered into the cell it automatically becomes a capital.

I need the word to be capitalized so that I can use it in a custom function. The function uses the word from this cell and goes through a bunch of cases in determing how to classify the string.

I think more than one solution is possible and I would greatly appreciate some feed back, I've tried looking into turning all the letters of a string in my VBA code to capitals, or a way to format the cells, so that the string is already capitalized when entered into the VBA code, but I'm still a novice at VBA and unsure on how certain commands work.

here is a sample of my vba code.

When I use a simple formula such as:

=upper(a1)

that will obviously change whatever is in a1 to Upper Case - but it will put it in the cell that holds the formula.

What I want to know is:
Is there any way I can format the cell to run the formula when the information has been pasted into the spreadsheet

Excel 2010 :: Keeping Manually Entered Table Data Associated With Correct Row?

I have a table created in Excel 2010 by a SQL query. the query pulls 3 columns of data - Resource Name, Contract Company, Labor Category. I then add a column called "KEY". KEY is derived using VLOOKUP. VLOOKUP is matching the Contract Company from the table created with SQL to a table called "Rate Key" in another worksheet in the spreadsheet based on the matching the Contract Company. That all works fine. If the table changes due to changes in data coming from the SQL db, the column I've added using VLOOKUP recalculates correctly. Then I add 2 more columns. One is called RATE - which is a number that I manually type in. The last column is called RCode and is calculated by the RATE times the KEY. Whenever I refresh the SQL query, all of the the calculated rows work fine; however, the data in the RATE column that I manually enter does not move - it stays with the row regardless of whether or not the name changes when the new SQL data comes over. How do I get the values manually entered in the RATE column to move with the correct row when the rows change?

Align Left And Right In Same Cell

I need a single cell to contain two elements, one left aligned and the other right aligned.

Result would look something like this, LeftText aligned to the left side of the cell and RightText aligned to right side of the same cell.

LeftText {all of the white space here between two text values} RightText

Merging columns is not an option; both values must be in same cell. Both text values vary in length with each run of the code.

All I can do as of now is plug in a bunch of spaces that will approximate the open space between the two values.

I used formula =Proper(A1), it gave results as:
36, Tree Road, 5Th Floor

The only problem I face is after any number, the next character should in lowercase, i.e. 5th

Cells To Align To Center/left/right

Here's a weird one: I can't get some of my cells to align to center/left/right. Both the buttons on the toolbar and Format->Cells->Alignment won't work. The kicker is that other cells on the same sheet will center/left/right just fine. Is there some kind of formatting protection I inadvertently set?

I've got a column of data that I need to split into further columns, the only way of identifying the split from the data is if a lower case character appears next to an upper case character.

For example, a cell in column A could look like;

And I'd need to split that out to cover columns A B and C with

I'd need to do that for all the cells in column A.

Sort Capitalized Words Ahead Of Lower Case

I've got a 96000 line spreadsheet with individual words or abbreviations in each cell of the first column. I need to sort it with numbers first, then Capitalized words, then lowercase words. The numbers aren't an issue but sorting the Caps first then lower case without getting words that have a cap in the middle is frying my tiny brain. Originally I dug around here and found a search for caps that returned a True/False then sorted the columns on the result. =MIN(--EXACT(Dict3,LOWER(Dict3)))=0 Then I found that I had abbreviations in the list like cGy and eV or cGMB that incorrectly showed up as true but weren't. Now I need a modification or a better answer. I tried a fw dozen things but obviously I'm barking up the wrong functions.

I am using the this formula to look up data using 0 to show not found. VLOOKUP is acting case sensitive. The Master Array data is in caps and the input is in lower case. There are no spurious spaces. Here are the results:

I am trying to detete rows that have several specific values, upper and lower case, (A-H) in any of several columns (B through H). Excel 2010 :: Text Aligning Just Slightly To The Left Of Center

My current spreadsheet shows text that's aligning just slightly to the left of center. In the Format Cells menu under Alignment, I have selected Center for both Horizontal and Vertical. There is no indent. Orientation is 0 degrees. Text is set to wrap. Merge cells is unchecked. Text direction is Context.

When I double click a cell to change the text, it centers correctly as the cursor blinks. But when I click somewhere else and it stops blinking and allowing me to type in the cell, it aligns slightly to the left of center.

I have an excel spread sheet and on the last column on the right hand side I have some comment boxes but when I hover over them they pop up to the right of the cell, and then they are off the screen.

Can I alter it to make the comment box pop up to the left side of the cell.

Is it possible to adapt this code to get me the desired results or will it have to be a separate one.

Also i'm not sure if I have the code right because if I run the macro then open a comment box in the (M) column as in the code the comment box is the default size then if I run the macro again once I have the little red tick in the corner of the it changes to what the code says.

I have two sheets with data. I wont excel to look for a value in colum A in sheet 2 the value to look for is defined in colum a in shet 1. If value is found it should insert in sheet one the value that is in the cell next to the found value. The data is not sorted. I have attempted and failed with using different functions.
