Extract Numbers And Prefix Letter

I need to extract (and then use for SumIfs) only item numbers from the long description. Please see the attached list where item number column shows existing list & next column shows what i want to extract. The exrtacted part if has any trailing or succeeding letters, characters between numbers should stay. for example from "SGA:RV-SVA:PEPPERS/PEPPERONCINI:SV9176001/232034" I need to extract " SV9176001/232034" or from " SPICES:BULK SPICES 7100:9054B" I need to extract " 7100:9054B". Can some one please urgently help me on this.

i need to create a random 3 letter prefix form eg. British Head Office, how would you pick letters out and compare the 3 letter prefix back to a column with existing prefix. and if u can help me even more how can i automate this method beacuase i for eg. get like 50 company names at a time and dont have time to do and check them 1 by 1 lol.

Im basicaly pulling a report wherein the details will have a column as number.
It basicaly should be a three digit number. The tool will have the information as below.
VNO005016017008019020021
But when im pulling out the report into excel, the zeros in the prefix goes away and the report looks like the below
VNO516178192021
I just checked the tools previllages and it seems that we cannot do anyting in pulling the data as it is in the tool.
So wht im trying to do is to save the report in a folder where i have placed a validation sheet which will have references of the parent report.
So when i open the report the reference will pull up the data and in here i would like to add a validation which will add "0" in the prefix if VNO is a 2 digit number or "00" if the VNO is a one digit number.

I have a huge column of data. This data has few prefixes that I need to remove. I have a list of possible prefixes. Some prefixes are 1,2,3 or 4 characters long. Could you please suggest best way of removing these prefixes (VBA if possible)?

If I have a cell filled with any number of given names (no surnames) (e.g. John Peter William Suffolk - yea, 4 names!, or Harry Murray (2)), how can I extract the first letter of each name (i.e., the first letter following a space) and place that in another cell? Say A1 has the names, B1 has the surname - I want this in C1. In D1 I'll use a function like Text or concatenate to link C1 and B1.

Having trouble with this one. Searches seem to bring up every other variation of extracting info from strings except this.
I have cells which contain alphanumeric strings as below and, using a formula, I want to extract everything from and including the last letter to give A 2-3, B 3 and C 3-4 in the examples below.

I have 100s of urls with prefix as the left column. I need to rename them to the right column format. UDC 01_001 will take number Batch 01_385, UDC 01_002 will use Batch 01_386 and so on.
I cant figure out how to do this in one quick macro instead of replace function.

I am looking to be able to compare a number with a letter so for example 4c and compare it with another 5c and in that scenario see a difference of 1 but when the two to be compared are 4c and 4a it would see 0.6.
in this excersize
A=0.33333R
B=0.33333R
C=0.33333R
it is basically sub category of the initial number so an A is better than a B and in tern a B is better than a C
for example
Targeted Working At Residual
4c 4b 0.33333r
5a 4c -0.33333r
4c 5c 1
4c 5a 0.33333r
5c 3b -1.66666
so on and such forth the number and letter can be entered into seperate fields the lettering are only A,B,C but numbers can range from 1-9 i am normally quite ept with excel but this is out of my depth

On column "F" I have all the names listed, they are all lowercase, and with different length. How do I write a formula to turn those names into numbers?
For an example. In column F1 I have "James". And using letters = numbers
9 = A L T
8 = B N W
7 = E P X
6 = G R Y
5 = I J
4 = H S
3 = F Q Z
2 = D O U
1 = C M V
I would like the column G1 to display "59174"?
Would need the convention from letters to numbers on Column G adjacent with the name.

I have a text string in cell A1 as below:
repairs booked in Dec,11 (INR 37k)
training fees Dec,11 (INR 42k)test Fee Reimb for 03 emp Dec,11 (INR 56k)
skill fees booked in Jan,12 INR 52k
Reimb for 01 employee in Jan,12 INR 8k fee accounted- xyz INR 250k, Quick solutions INR 52K, ABCD India INR 272K, Layer Technologies INR30K and complex mgt INR 21K
Note: (INR 37K) means negative number i.e. -37
Now my task is to manually total the above amounts in calculator, i.e.
-37-42-56+52+8+250+52+272+30+21 = =550
like this there are 100s of cells, could derive a formula for this task.

I use currency data pasted from legacy program that pastes dollar values followed by a C or D to represent debit and credits, ie -- 1,000,000.00C or 1,000,000.00D.
Is there some way to remove the letter and correctly format the value to a negative or positive number on a whole worksheet or column?
Currently I am doing this manually one cell at a time.

CAn a formula/macro be provided to extract the numbers (including Decimal) from a cell value containing alphanumbers?
For eg.Down 3,492.00 INR should be extracted as -3492.00
Up3,492.00 INR as 3492.00
Please note that the numbers may be of any digit. If it contains down, then the number should be negative and if UP then positive.

I'm trying to obtain a daily/monthly sales total. As you can see from the sample I've left, I have a number of different sales dep't and have to tally each one, but I have a situation where 1 of the dep't I need to keep a tally (including text) of what the amount refers to (but all in the same column, can't seperate them into different columns.......just in case of an doubts). What I need to accomplish is a formula for the following:
1- that it can recognize AND sum across the values. (TOTALS column)
2- that it can recognize AND sum down the SALES D column.

For the below formula is it possible to replace the B's (column location) with a cell Say Z146 which contains the letter B (or a number if thats easier and someone can tell me the numbers for each column).
When the formula is dragged into the next cell (down) it takes its column reference from Z147 and then my life becomes so much easier.

I have a data set that I imported from Access. One of the columns contains the code for specific work activities, for example 13Z or 9A. Examples of data in cells:
G 622 ENTERTAINMENT ( I need to extract 622 )
D 6129 TOYS ( I need to extract 6129)
C 1039 Toddler TOYS ( I need to extract 1039 )
R 05 VEHICLES (I need to extract 5 )
All the cells have spaces before an alphabetical identifier, then a space ( it could be more than one in some cases ), then a number ( between 1 and 4 digits ), then a space and a description.
