Horizontal Bar Chart Used As Metric Gauge
Jul 3, 2012I was able to generate a vertical bar chart combined with a line chart (dot) to use a metric guage.
However, i needed this to be horizontal and can't figure it out.

how to make a graph that looks like a gas gauge. Something like the top half of a pie chart...or something along those lines?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a chart with dates from the past 6 weeks (one week at a time). The horizontal axis shows the dates from my data page correctly until I make one of the other data fields a secondary axis and then my dates change from the actual dates on the data page to 1-Jan-00, 2-Jan-00, through 6-Jan-00.
When I do the select data and look at the dats in the Horizontal Axis labels box, it shows the real dates. Why won't they show up on the chart as actual dates?
I have a chart which has horizontal gradients in increments of 500. For example, $500, $1000, $1500, etc. Is it possible to make one of the horizontal gradient lines which run across the chart, darker than the other horizontal gradient lines? For example, if a "goal" is to reach $2000, can I make that horizontal line in the chart darker than the lines for $500, $1000, $1500, etc.? I am not talking about the bars that run vertically for each data, but the lines that run horizontally across the chart.
I dont know if this can even be done in a chart or not.
I have a data series plotted as columns. Then I want a horizontal line at $5,000 to appear all the way across the chart. It appears from the 1st to the last data point, but there is blank space before the first point and after the last point. I would like the red line to extend into this blank space before and after, so that it is going across the entire chart.
I tried playing around with different axis settings and no luck.
I have a line Chart and want to create a static horizontal/indicator line.
I cannot create a new series to plot this horizontal line as I'm using an external data source (OLAP cube) as source data for the chart.
I'm having trouble getting the dates i want on the horizontal axis on a chart in Excel 2013. I want 12 dates along the axis starting at 01/01/2013 then each month until 1/12/13 however as you can see the dates are 01/01/1900.

In the end I want this to be in VBA but how to do this manually I should be able to put it in loop of data that will produce many charts with a horizontal line starting at the day opening.
I have tried to add a new series to the chart but I'm using the Candle stick stock chart and the new series comes out as a vertical not horizontal line. I read about using a secondary horizontal axis but all the tutorials I find are in Excel 2003 and they donlt line up well with Excel 2007.
I found this link on charts with horizontal lines but again they are in 2003 and I'm using a candle stick stock chart not a scatter chart. [URL]
I want to a horizontal line in a chart. There are only two figures with me. One I want to display as a column chart. The other as a horizontal line chart. (I can use both excel 2003 or 2010, whichever is suitable)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering how do you create a horizontal bar chart where the allocations within the bars change as the percentages change.
For example, if I have school stats where the there are 30 students in each class from grades 1 to 5 broken down between girls and boys
how can I get the bars for EACH grade to reflect the allocation between boys/girls?
I am working with the Ganntt chart and horizontal bar charts but can't seem to figure out a way to force the X-Axis to behave properly.
In Excel 2007, I am trying to get the X-Axis to show major units of Months. However, in my chart options I can only change the Y-Axis to be Date/Monthly.
Changing my data layout (from the below) to be a vertical format produces the same problem, just in the other direction.
My data looks as follows:
System
Blocker
Production
Migrataion
Retired
Sys1
1/1/2012
780
Sys2
1/1/2012
400
60
90
Sys3
2/1/2013
30
5
1
The Blocker column is formatted as "No Fill" in order to cover a portion of the time-scale.
My X-Axis displays as random dates throughout the period and all of my data displays properly in terms of the scale on the grid.
What is NOT working is that the dates shown on the X-Axis really need to be based on a Monthly scale instead of the randomly selected dates Excel is using.
20120823.xlsx
I can't seem to find the right combination of options to make that happen or force a scale on the X-Axis.
I have a worksheet compiled with text and decimal numbers all the numbers are filled in via. a data validation drop down list. This fills in many cells in certain columns and rows with data from others sheets depending on what item is choosen from the list.
Is it possible to have a macro or two macro buttons that will convert the decimal numbers from inch to metric or vice versa. When clicked. Note that there are decimal numbers in 3 decimal places up to five decimal places.
I know to convert Decimal to Metric is .0000/.03937
Metric to Decimal is .0000*.03937
I have a spreadsheet,section attached.
In column a is the distance in miles and furlongs and yards..sometimes there is only miles..sometimes only miles and furlongs,,sometimes only miles and yards..
I need a formula i can fill down in column b to convert to furlongs in decimal format
e.g. 2miles 3 furlongs and 20 yards converts to 19.09 furlongs..
there are 8 furlongs in a mile and 220 yards in a furlong...
We make many graphs using XYscatter charts with lots of data points using Excel 2003 with the horizontal scale properly scaled as frequency. I have been asked to label that axis in some way as period (=1/frequency) without changing the scaling for the data plot. Is there a suitable way to do this? It would be OK to just change the axis numbers to 1/frequency computed from them automatically. Is Excel 2010 any easier for this?

Row 2 has the event numbers titles 1 to 18 (18 events in a year). i need a graph that has the person as the vert axis and the horizontal axis needs to be the event numbers, so i can read down for the person and across to see how there handicaps change from each different event. i have attached the data below.

Assuming i copied a list of cells that are vertical [column format], how do i paste it such that it will become horizontal [horizontal format]

After running the data this morning, I noticed my horizontal axis had blank position holders for data over the weekend. How would I set the chart so that if there is no data in my data range, it doesn't put a place holder in the axis? Sample attached.

I have a spreadsheet that I want to keep track of how many rounds mulitple weapons have fired. I have a current rounds cell, a last fired cell and total rounds cell. The problem is that when I enter the number of rounds shot in the "last fired cell", the sum of the total rounds cell goes up (via the sum function) however, is there a way to keep that number there, even though I will replace the last fired cell with a new number the next time I fire the weapon?
I'm having a problem working with a protected document made by another user.
The sheet has a vertical split at column F, and when I use the arrow keys to scroll right beyond this line (ie from column G and beyond), when I reach the last column (BB), it just loops straight back to the beginning (column F). This also happens in the same direction.
How I can stop this happening, so that it just stops when it reaches the end of the document?
There doesn't appear to be any coding on the sheet.
get a horizontal scroll bar into a listbox ?
My litbox is 180 point wide (set by width command) but my text is wider.
I seem to remember if you set a small width in the .columnwidths property you can generate a scroll bar - but this is ignored for a single column listbox, which is what I have.
If I reset the .Width property to something very small (eg 50) then I get the scroll bar but for some reason it doesn't scroll the fullwidth of the text.
I was wondering if it's possible to create a macro that would check the range horizontally and vertically and return the resoults in a userform so that when workbook is open this userform would come up with the information who is due for refresher....
The sample book doesn't show the real size of the original matrix which has 190 employess and about 30 procedures so as you can imagine it's a pain.. to keep it up to date so I need something to flag that for me, yes I can see the red cells but still there's so many cells that I might easly miss some of them....
I have data in a vertical column how can i equate that data to a horizontal row in other sheet. how to do it by formula?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhat kind of formula do I need that looks for a date and find all the names that have the same character on that particular day
In the example below cell R4 kooks for date R3 in range A1:L15 and find all cells that have a "G" and displays all the corresponding names from C1:L1
I prefer non array-formulas
I have some data that looks like this:
Columns c through H
#N/A030016030037030037030037030016030037
I want to find the most frequently occuring value. These are not always numbers, so I can't use mode. Also, some of the columns may contain errors.
My normal formula for extracting the most frequent value would be:
=INDEX(C2:H2,MATCH(MAX(COUNTIF(C2:H2,C2:H2)),COUNTIF(C2:H2,C2:H2),0))
But this doesn't work for a horizontal list because match looks for the rownum.
I've tried using offset to get it to work, but either that doesn't work, or I don't know how to do it properly.
I am simply trying to do a standard Vlookup but since there are multiple returns for any given match the best results for me are to return them horizontally on the same line in seperate columns.
My original formula holds all the same information, nothing is different except where I want the values to be returned. Here is the original...
=VLOOKUP(K2,'Open PO'!$A$1:$D$13000,3,0)
and...
=VLOOKUP(K2,'Open PO'!$A$1:$D$13000,4,0)
I have been putting formula 1 (Single Return) into Column X but need the multiple returns to return to X, Y, Z, and AA
I have been putting formula 2 (Single Return) into Column AB but need the multiple returns to return to AB, AC, AD, and AE
There should not be more than 4 returns per match so if anyone could help me with a formula to return each of these formulas horizontally like this.
attached a sample, with the page settings, print area set, row height, etc... all set to my needs. I would like vba to adjust the horizontal pagebreaks so that a "box" is never split into two parts. in attached sample the pagebreaks should therefore go below row30, row54, row124 and row128. Setting pagebreaks is easy, but still want VBA to do it for me.

I have number of data in column B arranged vertically in sheet1 how can we arrange the data in sheet 2 column B row 3 horizontally.
The vertical data keeps increasing when new data is added, so VBA code should search to the last line in Sheet1 column B.
All duplicate entries should not be repeated when arranging horizontally.
