How To SUM From Different Sheet Based On Text Pattern

I have a formula such as below..
=SUMIF('MBX TO DBS'!$G$1:$G$818,"*livedb01*")
This will sum the values in G1-G818 that contain livedb01 on the "MBX TO DBS" sheet, however this is not exactly what I want.. I want the SUM function to look for the livedb01 string in G1-G818 and SUM the values in D1-D818.
So instead it would look for livedb01 text in G column and take the value from D and SUM those once the text qualifier was found in G column..
Is this possible with Excel?

I am wanting to find within a cell the following pattern "ANNNN" - "A" meaning any alpha character A-Z and "N" meaning any numeric 0-9. The pattern ANNNN could be anywhere within the text. Pre-requisite: I would consider myself to be very poor with excel, based on what I've read on this forum and found on my web-searches. I have a worksheet that has a list of data on the left going vertically, then a summary of this data going horizontally across the top. It is not arranged in such a way that transposing the data will do what I want. I am pulling the 5th word out of the title of each block of the vertical data and need to show this word on the horizontal section.
When I use this formula to pull the 5th word: =MID(MID(MID(SUBSTITUTE(A2," ","^",4),1,256), FIND("^",SUBSTITUTE(A2," ","^",4)),256),2,FIND(" ",MID(MID(SUBSTITUTE(A2," ","^",4),1,256),FIND("^",SUBSTITUTE(A2," ","^",4)),256))-2)
I need to increase A2 to A30, then A58 (up by 28 every time) in every instance in that formula. The fill handle increases the values by 1, instead of 28 (even if I do 3 or 4 instances manually) How do I do this? I've run into this problem in other scenarios, and there HAS to be a way to get around it.

We have a huge excel-sheet, containing disputes with customers. Everytime there is a dispute, the customers data will be transferred into the sheet. The sheet is organized like this:
DATE / NAME / ID / COMMENT / FREQUENCY (how often one customer appears in the list) /ID2 (ID combination of the date + ID) /Weekday
And here comes the task:
Find all customers who appear 10 work-days(Mo-Fr) in a row. So if a customer appears Mo-Fr and keeps on being in the list the next Monday etc. it still counts as "in a row". Same with official holidays. If a customer appears at a certain date he is "booked" and it doesnt matter if a appears a second time on that specific date.

Note: I had to use a german version of excel when I made this little example - thats why the formula in the collum "Frequency" says "Zahlenwenn" its the german version of COUNTIF

I need a formula which can sum up some value based on some especial pattern which I indicate in the table below:

My question: I want to sum up value from A1, B1, C1, A2, B2, C2. I also need a formula to control how much I want to add. For example, I can instruct the formula to sum A1, B1, C1 and A2 (25+65+0+100) or sum A1, B1, C1, A2, B2, and C2.

I have a column of data that contains text such as 'as per A3', 'B4 requested' and 'as per F6 Mark' (these aren't cell references).
I'm trying to find a formula that will just strip out the 'A3', 'B4' and 'F6' element of the text. I've tried SEARCH with wildcards but it's not working, and can;t use the LEFT RIGHT or MID functions due to the inconsistent data.

I have two sheets,one called pattern of about 25000 rows and one called rp1,
which is a fresh sheet downloaded each night from the web. What I want to do is select the names in column 3 of rp1 and printout in the same or a new sheet every row containing this name from the pattern spreadsheet.So for every horse named in col c,I want its complete record,could be 1 row or maybe up to 20 rows output,from the pattern worksheet(for each). They will all be underneath each other. I simply want excel to extract all the data belong to these names in rp 1 from the pattern large sheet. The names are in col r of the pattern sheet.

I've been going round in circles with this for hours and have got no-where. I 'm trying to get Excel to paste in a set pattern of data based on an input cell.
In row 1 I have months starting in cell B1. B1 = April 12, C1 = May 12, D1 = June 12, and so on
The user would enter the data in column A, starting in row 2
If the date in A2 = May 12 then Excel would enter 10 in cell C2, 20 in cell D2 and 30 in cell E2. If the date in A2 is changed to June 12, then the previous data would be cleared and Excel would enter 10 in E2, 20 in F2 and 30 in G2.
Date would be entered in A3, A4, A5 etc and I would want it to post the same fixed data depending on the date the user enters in teh relevant row.
I've tried IF statements and also some code but can't even get near it working.

I would like to get all the bid/ask quotes for the different currency pairs in sheet 2 into sheet 1 sorted by the right date and time.
I need a formula which recognize the time + the currency from sheet 1 and search for it in sheet 2 then brings the right bid/ask quote back into sheet 1.

Monthly, I get a CVV of data with associated statistics. I'm generally only interested in rows with the first cell (A) containing specific words.
The cells (column A) are those such as below:

So, if I wanted to take copy the rows where the cell contains the text 'create web page'. I want it to take 'create web page free' and 'how to create web page' and the cells in their respective row.
I would like these rows to be copied into a new sheet.

Is it possible to insert text as a comment on another sheet based on a date?
I have Sheet 1, that has 3 columns, Name, Date, Reason
Sheet 2 is a monthly calendar with the dates in E5:AH5 and the names from D6:D10.
What I am trying to do, is when they enter their name, date and reason on sheet 1, I want the reason to to be inserted on sheet 2 as a comment in the cell that matches the date and the name.

I'm trying to create a formula that will search for a specific text in "sheet1" within a date range and then SUM the total on "sheet2". I've manage to use the SUMPRODUCT (below) formula but want to expand on this so the SUM can be shown on another sheet(summary page). =SUMPRODUCT((ISNUMBER(FIND({"nmlclex06"},A1:A10)))*(B1:B10)) In this example I search for the text "nmlclex06" and SUM the size, but don't have a date range and don't know how to SUM the data on another sheet.

I'm creating a workbook to keep track of my utilities payments, one sheet for one utility and so on. I like to copy two cells from each sheet to another one to keep me updated of the amount to pay and the date. an example: column A with text, if text "NEXT" appear in column A, copy the value of two cells (at columns B & C) at the right of "NEXT" to another worksheet, if that possible? I want to do a loop where you can copy say A3 worksheet 1 then add another sheet naming the work sheet "A3" then copying A3 worksheet 1 to A1 "A3". After that looping to A4 to a new work sheet naming the work sheet "A4"copying the value to A1 "A4", etc...
Is there a simply way of doing this loop? I can probably fit my other coding into the structure.

1. Search an excel sheet "column" for a particular type of text and insert values based on that text (if found) in another column.
e.g I have column A1 to A10 with different types of text. I would like to search for the keyword "Risk is high" OR "Risk=High" for each cell in the column and insert a "1" if found beside it's corresponding "B" column. If not found, I would like to insert a "0".
So, if the text "Risk is high" OR "Risk=High" was only found in A6, I would like B6 to be "1". Rest of the values in the B column would be "0's", since the text was not found in any of the other cells.

I'm trying to extract specific character from a set of text strings which have irregular patterns. For example:

My goal is to get only the 'DXXX' which sometimes might be only 'DXX'. I've tried using the following formula but I seem to be going wrong somewhere as I only get 'D'.

Need a macro that will autofill in an email pattern from a customer list i recieve. So far i have been having to manually do it.. but when have documents over 3k entries.. ouch.
This is what i got.. hope the way i type it in makes sense

I am trying to come up with a formula that will distribute the numbers as shown in this diagram:
To get the value of each number divide 42,000 by the last number in the pattern. For example the fifth column from the left would be 42,000/18. That means that each number would have a value of 2,333.33. By the time you reach the half way mark, nine in that example, you should have around 21,000, and the other 21,000 should be distributed between the last half (block 10 thru 18). The formulas would have to work on all of the patterns. Can anyone think of a way to match the pattern shown? It doesn't have to be exactly the same pattern just as long as the number of blocks remains the same for each half, and they total 21,000 for each half without going over 42,000 all together. There has to be 11 rows from top to bottom.

Is it possible to change the borders/pattern of a single cell so that it looks like the image in the attached document? This may seem a strange thing to want to do, but there is a good reason! Merged cells will not suit my purpose. The pattern palette allows a cell to be filled with horizontal lines, but I need there to be just two lines (i.e. dividing a single cell into three boxes).

I made a code that automatically checks the date and then compares it to the date of the last save. If it is a new date then the colors of the tabs will randomize. It can also be done manually via a button. The problem is that I have now realized that the colors are always have the same pattern. Every day the first color is an orange color, no matter how many times I randomized yesterday...and so on. Is there a way to make the randomness not have a repeating pattern?

Getting two arguments: cell and 'like' pattern (_ _ , *, e.t.c).
As a result returns data that match this pattern.

I am comparing two years' data, one on top of the other (Rows 1 and 2). For each cell in each row, I am referencing a cell from a different tab. This needs to be done with about 290 data items, so 580 rows.
When I attempt to copy the two rows down, it doesn't go in the correct order (skips a cell reference number). It looks like this:

It would save me a lot of time considering each of the 580 rows has about 30 different column with each cell referencing various things.
