The highlighted portion is going to change from week to week. I have never been able to put a variable inside of quotation marks. I am sure it is simple, which explains why it is out of my mental grasp. how I can assign a variable in there?

This generally works well; however, I have discovered that if the input value for I67 is actually zero, there is no value displayed in the cell. I need the value to be displayed as a numerical zero so that it can be used in subsequent calculations.

I've tried

I have a macro that imports xml and then allows the user to update certain fields. The XML contains many quotation marks and inbound I deal with this by replacing " with ' using Find & Replace.

But before exporting the XML again I need to replace the ' with " but am stuck on how to do this.

I'm using a query that dumps information into Excel. The query automatically creates a formula in each each cell. For instance if the first value in the query showed FUNSTUFF, after dumping it into Excel, the contents of the cell would show ="FUNSTUFF". I can just use a find and replace to get rid of the leading =", but sometimes the values of the cells are supposed to have a quotation mark, so using the same method to remove the trailing quote won't work. I need a way to search each cell, check if the last character in the string is a quote, and if it is, delete it.

I'm trying to create a shortcut that will allow me to add quotation marks to the begining and end of text in cells. I've tried the following, which works fine when only one cell is highlighted:

However as soon as I highlight more than one cell, it errors. How to make it work for a range of cells?

I would like to query your knowledge database (too much VBA I guess ) as I have a predicament that I cannot seem to solve.

Here is the thing: I am trying to write a sub that would enable me to automatically put in place extensible name ranges (the Offset worksheet function).

The problem is that, despite everything seems to go well, the reference in the name box displays : ="DECALER($C$2;0;0;5-1;1)" (the string comes from a variable and Decaler is Offset in French). These quotation marks are the culprits for sure, as taken off the formula works beautifully.

I've tried everything I've found on the internet, that is to say: Replace(String, Chr$(34), "") so on and so forth, but these marks are not recognized a part of the string so they escape the replacement.

Make Entries Into Time Log

I am creating a log to keep track of my start and stop times when I work on a project. I have two columns labelled START and END and I can use a macro button to make the current date and time appear in the cell under these headings. What I haven't been able to find is a way of getting the macro to move to a new blank cell ready to accept the next entry. For instance, move one cell to the right or move one cell down and one to the left.

Can anyone tell me how to do this? (recording it just names the cell so it always goes back to that named cell.)

I have a form im using for one of my spreadsheets and it involves alot of data entry, many times alot of the data will be the same not like one entry after another but say the second, fifth, twelfth and fourteenth data entry's will be almost identical. Is there any way i can make the form remember previous entry's kind of like the spreadsheet does? so you start typing and it automatically shows what you typed that was similar into that column and you can hit enter and it will automatically fill that cell out for you. But instead of columns and cells these would be entry box's in a form.

I have a macro that imputs data from an external database and puts it into a temporary worksheet. This data has 3 columns (ID, Date, Amount). I am then making another sheet which has X number of tables (one for each ID), with the years being the column headings, and months being the row headings. ie.

Currently I have a few hidden fields for the DSUM Criteria. I start making the tables. And then filling in table based off of the month and year. Doing so I need 3 criteria:
>= First Day of the Month
<= Last Day of the Month
= ID #

The problem is it takes Excel too long to fill in the 3 criteria fields, calculate the result, copy the result, and place it into the correct place on the table. Is there another way to get this data into the correct tables faster? Instead of using DSUM?

I need to place cell value into one function (I cannot modify this function it is built in) .

For example:

Function is

CODE
A2=KGF
=ABCDFE_(my value of A2 thus KGF)_GHIJKL

Thus the end result:

=ABCDFE_KGF_GHIJKL

I can concatenate the string but I cannot evaluate it .

=CONCATENATE("ABCDFE_",A2,"_GHIJKL")

is there a way to do it ?

How To See Where The 55th Place In A Cell Is

I use Excel 2002 - I have a column with Text in its cells. The cells usually range from 30 to 130 characters including spaces. I need to use word wrap.

I would like to be able to see where the 55th character is ( Including spaces ) - but I also need to see the rest of the contents of the text in the cell.

I have thought about coloring the first 55 character/spaces ?
