I have a form im using for one of my spreadsheets and it involves alot of data entry, many times alot of the data will be the same not like one entry after another but say the second, fifth, twelfth and fourteenth data entry's will be almost identical. Is there any way i can make the form remember previous entry's kind of like the spreadsheet does? so you start typing and it automatically shows what you typed that was similar into that column and you can hit enter and it will automatically fill that cell out for you. But instead of columns and cells these would be entry box's in a form.
I've have been building a UserForm for data entry into a stock demands system. One of the data entry items is a text box asking the data-inputter to complete a field containing the items drawing reference from the technical manual. The field can be quite long, and is often repeated for multiple items within the same drawing. Unfortunately, a ComboBox item would be have far to many items to make it useful, and so the TextBox item was preferred for this task.
My problem is that I need the TextBox to be able to recall/remember previous entries that have been saved to the data sheet in the workbook and the UserForm is cleared and closed down.
Is there a way to make a macro remember my keystrokes? When I record a macro it only remembers the cell number of the box that I clicked and not how I got there. What I would like to do is use ctrl+F to find what I'm looking for and then use the keyboard (2 keystrokes down and 6 keystrokes to the right for example) to arrive at a cell. However when I arrive at a cell, the macro just uses the cell number lets say H20 and doesn't remember how I got there from using the keyboard. What I'm trying to do is create a macro which graphs data from several different worksheets. The problem is the data from the different worksheets isn't the size of the data from which the macro was created. When I run the macro on different worksheets it doesn't graph the data from the same starting points or ending points. If I can't use a use a macro to do this,
How do you add or delete choices to a dropdown list without deleting all entries that were selected throughout the spreadsheet in the past, or having to change the validatons rules one by one?
I set up the list box choices (dropdown choices) by just naming the group of cells -- that is, by highlighting the group of cells, and typing a name into cell name field (in upper left corner of window); then using that name in data validation on the spreadsheet cell for the user.
- When I try to adjust the box, by adding entries and naming the revised group of cells with the old group name, it does not recognize the new group but the old group.
- If I delete old list and replace with new list, the previous entries disappear.
- When I try to name the new group a different name - it does work - but it involves changing the data validation on the user's spreadsheet, and skipping the ones that are already entered.
I wondered if there is a more efficient manageable way to maintain changes to the list items in a dropdown list box (one that is used for dependent lists) in Excel. I suspect it's easier in Access.
I'm trying to copy certain cells to a new worksheet that keeps a track of previous entries via date and name and location.
The code works somewhat, however the values are not pasted into the respective worksheet. I'll try to explain the code as I see it.
Sub Button2_Click()
So the first section Activates the sheet that data is entered Sheets("Checks").Select Sheets("Checks").Activate ActiveSheet.Unprotect ("fizix")
If the value ST is found in the sheet, the code knows to paste values to another worksheet known as ST_Hist
[Code] ........
Here I have another macro that then deletes the data in the selected ranges denoted by "" or ":", this part of the code works, however I dont have my pasted values in the appropriate sheet!!
I am creating a log to keep track of my start and stop times when I work on a project. I have two columns labelled START and END and I can use a macro button to make the current date and time appear in the cell under these headings. What I haven't been able to find is a way of getting the macro to move to a new blank cell ready to accept the next entry. For instance, move one cell to the right or move one cell down and one to the left.
Can anyone tell me how to do this? (recording it just names the cell so it always goes back to that named cell.)
I have a form with various textboxes and combo-boxes and a command button to enter the details into some cells.
What is the best way of writing some vba code to check all textboxes and combo's are entered before carrying on with entering the data. If any details are not entered then a message box should show and take the user back to the form.
I have a pretty simple sheet where users need to enter 8 cells in a single row. Issue I have is that they often ignore certain cells or enter data in incorrect format. I've toyed with data validation but that doesn't help if they simply ignore that cell.
What I'm wondering is, is it possible to create a user form that displays as soon as data is entered in first cell (Col B which they cannot avoid), where the user form then dictates the remaining cells that MUST be completed or the whole row will be emptied if cancelled.
How to make a fillable form in excel that will save the entry into another sheet and serves as a database.. like for example i have an invoice form after i enter all the data it will print and automatically save to the database.
I am trying to create a form to use as a golf tracker. I basically have created a scorecard where I input the date, score, fairways in regulation, greens in regulation and putts. I want to be able to put that information just like if it was a scorecard and then have a button that says submit. Then that information is output into individual sheets (i.e. one for scores, one for fairways, one for greens and one for putts).
I am trying to add something to a spreadsheet. I want to do some Conditional Formatting but I am not certain on what the formula would be to accomplish it. I am putting the Cond Format in cell E5 and I need a formula to say: IF F5 AND G5 are BLANK then do the format I set up which is simply to fill the cell with RED. (.ColorIndex = 3)
The next portion of my problem is I need to revise my VBA Coding to check and make sure that there is not any cells in Column E that have the Formatting Active. This is the portion of code I need to alter. I have changed the wording of the message but am not sure on how to change the IF statement:
'Checks to see make sure there are no Actions or Resolutions WITHOUT a Topic
If Sheets("Meeting Minutes").Range("C1").Value = "" Then 'NEEDS TO CHANGE
MsgBox "Oops! You forgot to enter a Topic for Discussion in a cell(s). You MUST have a Topic in order for your Meeting Minutes to transfer to the Master sheet." & vbCr & vbCr & "Please click OK to return to the Minutes sheet so that you may fill in the Topic(s).", vbOKOnly, "CAUTION! PLEASE Note!"
Range("D5").Select Application.ScreenUpdating = True Application.StatusBar = "" Exit Sub End If
my query is about excel formulaes, I always get stuck with them, not sure how to complete them, as I need to keep a record of marks tally in a spreadsheet. I have been keeping marks record in the old tabulated manner.
I have a spreadsheet on sheet 1 with a list of customers and their information. So on column A I have the customer number (i.e. k968, e37, p528,...), on column B i have the customer's name, on column C the street's name, on Column D the house number, on column E the zip code and finally the city on column F.
Right now there are around 600 customers in this list.
I have made a userform with a combobox in which I want to select an existing customer (pulled from the spreadsheet). On the same userform I have textboxes (customer number, name, street, number, zip, city). When I select a customer in the combobox, I want this customer's info to show up in the textboxes. I want to be able to change the info and hit Next to store the changes in the spreadsheet. When I do not select a customer from the combobox, I want to add new info in the textboxes and hit Next to store this info as a new customer. The userform also has a delete button. Then I select a customer in the combobox, this customer (and it's info) should be deleted from the spreadsheet when i hit Delete. So the spreadsheet is variable in length.
I have userform in excel which asks user to enter user id and password. I want a to have "Remember Me" check button on my userform which will remember user details and he wouldn't have to enter user id and password again and again.
I'm missing something in my UserForm initialization code. If I fill the form out once and click 'OK' (run the code to put the form data into a sheet), when I go back into the form all the old info is still there. If I then click 'Cancel' (Unload Me) and reopen the form, the old data is cleared out. What am I missing to make it clear it out the first time?
I'm having trouble trying to come up with a way to insert data fields into a spreadsheet form. I have a travel authorization form that I would like to have automatically fill in the required fields based on typing in a name. i.e. I would type in an employees name, and it would automatically fill-in the correct address, etc for that employee. I have attached a spreadsheet that contains one sheet as the form, and another sheet containing the employee data. I know nothing about VBA, but I have a feeling that is where I need to go.
I am needing to create a form that exports data (a quote) to an Excel Db (table) and is then able to recall the data back into the form. (the default form in excel does this and I want to copy that.)
Once the data is called back in, I can then export it to another Table to show that the quote has been approved and will be used.
I am having trouble with the VBA coding that copies the inputted quote in Cell C2 (the reference for the quote number) of the "Form" sheet and looks it up in the "Database" sheet. I have tried several variations of code, but nothing works so far.
-SS Sub RecallQuote() ' ' RecallQuote Macro ' Sheets("Form").Select Range("C2").Select 'this is the cell that holds the quote number to look up from the table
I have a Database and user form, in the user form i have a field named “Vehicle No” this is a combo box from which a user needs to select the Vehicle numbers, and all these are working fine now, I need your help in the following:
When user selects the second field named "Select Vendor name" i need a pop up window which shows all the Vehicles belongs to the vendor which they have selected, and with the popup window user selects the vehicle number then the Vehicle number combo box should be filled.
Currently users have to select by scrolling through Combo box which takes long time and difficult to find by scrolling.
I have created a registration workbook for this year's youth sports league. All of the information is entered into a User Form and separated onto it's appropriate sheet designated by the child's age. Next year, I would like to use this year's workbook to look up returning players.
Will it be possible to add a "lookup" button into my form, or create a lookup program, that once the registrar clicks on the correct player, the information is plugged into the User Form, the registrar adjusts the age and any necessary info, presses enter, and the information is copied into the appropriate category in the new workbook? I haven't worked with User Forms long enough to know if they can be filled in that way, but if this can be done, you are the people who would know.
see attached file. Need to find latest non blank value - in attached file it is highlighted in yellow. From there, want to summarise 26 weeks back so, in the attached file:
Row 2 would be finding 750 and summarised back 26 weeks from 30 sep 2012 Row 3 would be finding 2250 and summarised back 26 weeks from 2 dec 2012 Row 4 would be finding 5000 and summarised back 26 weeks from 4 nov 2012
I have been working on a macro that compares a existing list of data to an updated list of data and then either moves any data not on the new list over to a completed tab (followed by deleting the record on the existing sheet), and then adds any items not on the existing sheet, but which appear on the new list, to the existing list.
I have come across a stumbling block, i have managed to identify on the existing list the rows of data that have been removed from the new list and therefore need to be moved over to the completed tab, but when i select the data it selects the header row aswell (which will always remain the same row). Obviously this then pastes the header row aswell, and also i can't seem to get it to paste in the new sheet to the next available row (i.e this will be used daily and i don't won't to overwrite the infor already in the completed tab). the next issue i have is then when i go back to existing sheet to delete the data i just copied across, as the header was initially select this also gets deleted.
The code below, is the complete code, including filtering, copying some forumals etc. The area i am getting stuck on is highlighted in red:
Sub Update() Dim bottomrow As Long Dim My_Range As Range bottomrow = Cells(Rows.Count, "C").End(xlUp).Row Set My_Range = Range("A1:Y" & bottomrow)
I have built a compiled a workbook which figures out the daily business in my club, Staff Rota, business done, wage slips, and everything else I need. Well, everything except the stock element.
I need the current week to look up the previous weeks stock levels on each item, when the previous weeks workbook changes it's name every week. At present I name the sheets by the week ending date, i.e. 12-04-14.
I have a report that is run everyday showing a list of orders, on separate tabs based on facility code, that has all kinds of information. I want to be able to take today's file, and have it lookup any comments I posted on the previous day's file.
I've been messing with code all morning and can't get it right. I think my problem is the vlookup part, and I don't think my loop is right either. Here's a little bit of the code i'm trying:
its a simple spreadsheet that suppose to track a usage of items that were taken out of inventory, but at the same it needs to be printer friendly (that's what's causing all the problems),
it got messy when I had to carry over from previous row, I had to manually enter under "Quantity ch." in order to have correct amount under "Left" column, (see row #4)
I think I can eliminate whole "Carried over" column if I create a formula that will enter data into B4 only if J3 has a number, I also need to copy the same formula's down each column,
I have a daily spreadsheet, uou update for inputs and outputs each day and the spreadsheet gets to an overperformance figure (sorry if the spreadsheet is a lottle unclear, it is a simplified version)
On the first day of each month, the opening target is adjusted and you start again. The probelm is you dont know what the opening target is until roughly 21st of the month.
I created a macro that deletes the opening target and removes all the previous days before the start of the month.
The way i done this was:
Create a copy of "daily" tab, change b5 to equals c2 and copy and paste special as values. Then in d5-d58 and f5 - f58, vlookup values from old "daily" tab , and then copy and paste special as values. Then delete old "daily" tab and remname daily(2) as "daily"
What i have done is essentially created a new tab on 21st March, looking back to data only as far back as 1st Mar and the new opening bal and target is found. The macro can be used on the 21st of each month.
but...macro doesnt work, i have tried a few times and i think it is because i am vlookuping up data from a tab that i later delete...please help!! - thanks a mil to anybody that can give me a steer in the right direction.
So it's pretty basic. If we simply remember the first ColumnA and ColumnB data, go to the next row, if ColumnA is the same, then ColumnB should be the same. If it's not, then fill with red, go to the next row, repeat. if ColumnA changes, remember the new pair, go to the next row and compare again.
I've thought about this from a scripting perspective, and imagine that something like this would do the job:
Code: sub FindBadTermID () Dim row As Integer Dim dataA as string, dataB as string Set row = 2
