IF Statement (fill A Cell With Either 'YES' Or 'NO' Depending On The Value Of One Cell)
Oct 10, 2008
i'm trying to ask my spreadsheet to fill a cell with either 'YES' or 'NO' depending on the value of one cell. I've succeeded in getting it to enter 'YES' but can't figure out how to tell it to choose between the two options. This is the formula so far
I have two sub-system tabs (IAS & CCTV) and one calculations page (estimate). I need G3 (estimate) to give me the total price of hours sold on a project.
Because the systems hours can be marked up differently I wrote an average formula. But I need to add an IF statement saying if there is no hours in the sub system then ignore the hour price.
if this formula doesnt take this into account and I delete H3 (CCTV tab) then the overall price of hours sold in estimate will be wrong.
I am trying to put together an IF statement within excel which will give me certain output depending on the particular value within ONE cell.
For example:
If cell L5 has a value between 0 and 1.00 output value 0 If cell L5 has a value between 1.01 and 2.00 output value 20 If cell L5 has a value between 2.01 and 3.00 output value 40 If cell L5 has a value between 3.01 and 4.00 output value 60 If cell L5 has a value between 4.01 and 5.00 output value 80 If cell L5 has a value between 5.01 and 6.00 output value 100
I have a template I have been asked to amend and I know I need to use Conditional Formatting I just can't crack the formula I need to use. Cell A2 will have either "CD" or "CW" or "IN" input into it
When user inputs either "CD" or "CW" into cell A2, I want cell G2 to have "Margin Movement" automatically displayed. When user inputs "IN" into cell A2, I want cell F2 to have "MV" automatically displayed, and I want cell G2 to be coloured in bright red fill. Then user is to go to cell G2 and input some text as a description, and I want the red fill to disappear once they have input something in there.
I thought I had it licked using IF statements for the "Margin Movement" and the "MV" cells, but I can't get the conditional formatting to work - I assume this is because the cells aren't technically "blank", as they have IF statements in them.
Afternoon everyone i am having abit of trouble working on an excel 2007 spreadsheet. In cell I1 i have a tab called Color. i want the cells below I1 to be filled with one of 3 colors green, yellow, or red depending on whats in cell F "Status" (closed or open - in progress) and cell G ECD for estimated completion date.
Green - i need it to fill green if status is closed. Yellow - need it to fill yellow if ECD is any date greater than today and if status is open. Red - need it to fill red if ECD is todays date or older and status is open.
The colour of the percentage cell changes according to its percentage. I would like the S/N cells to have the same colour as the total percentage cells automatically. (Even when the percentage updates)
Secondly, for the cells under "Target", if the target dates are 1 day before today(the current date on a particular day) and the actual date is not filled, the cell fill will turn amber.
If today is on or after the target date and the actual date is not filled, the cell will turn red.
However, if the actual date is filled, the target date cell will be filled green, overwriting the above two condition.
if I have one cell that ive enlarged to half the sheet.... and it is effected with rollover hyperlink so that when I hover over other cells. it turns different colours..
is it possible to make that cell open up different files using the double click event depending on the colour it currently is?
i.e. if its blue, open file1. if its yellow, open file 2 etc
I have 2 columns and 10 rows (A1:B10). In column A are certain text values. How do I write a macro to go through the table and preform an operation in the corresponding cell in column B depending on the value in cell A? for example, if A3 = "Complete", overwrite the formula in B3 with the value (paste value)?
In Column A each cell will contain a date (differnet from other cells in that column) when inspection was last done.
Column B is when the weekly inspection is due.
Column C is when bi-weekly inspection is due.
Column D is when monthly inspection is due.
Column E is when 6 monthly inspection is due.
I need a formula to change the colour of cells B, C, D & E when each inspection is due depending on the date entered in A
I am hoping its possible that the cell colour can stay for 2 days after the due date and then return back to blank after the second day.
For example if cell A1 has a date of January 1 2013 then on January 8 2013 cell B1 turns red then on January 10 2013 the cell returns back to normal.
A1 B1 C1 D1 E1
Inspection Date Weeekly Due Bi-WeeklyDue Monthly Due 6 Monthly Due
January 1 2013 Change red Jan 8 & return blank Jan 10 Change red Jan 15 & return blank Jan 17 Change red Feb 1 & return blank Feb 3 Change red June 1 & return blank June 3
Is it possible to use a formula to shade a cell dependent on a condition? I have tried an if formula (see below) but it is incorrect. =if('November 2006 SVOC'!B6>'March 2006 SVOC'!C6,'November 2006 SVOC'!B6 [red],if('November 2006 SVOC'!B6<'March 2006 SVOC'!C6,'November 2006 SVOC'!B6 [blue],))
I'm trying to create a tag with a color border. What I desire is to fill the BLANK cells around the tag, A1:D1 + D1:D19 + A1:D19 + A1:19 in a certain color based on the text value of the cell B11. There are 5 different values, such that if the B11 read Red Sox - the boarder is going to be red, if it reads Houston Astros it will be dark blue, etc..
I have a similar problem with changing the color of the cell based on the month. So regardless of the year, 2014, 2015, 2016, etc... If I use MONTH() function I can just get numbers from 1-12. I want Cell C16-C18 to be certain color depending the date entered in cell C17 such that for each quarter, months 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 they are different color.
I have had no luck with conditional formatting (and I also believe that it is good up to 3 cases only). I am decent in logic/programming language but have little knowledge with macro notation and especially how to run them in excel 2013. I do know how to start it alt+F11 and that I need to make sure that code is written under the specific sheet where my tag is located.
I have the names of companies in one column, and the amount they owe in cells in the column beside them. I then have a second list of companies that is a subset of the first. Is there a formula that would place the amount they owe in teh corresponding cell adjacent to the compny in the second list? I've attached a sample workbook, Full Company List in column A, amount owing in B, trimmed down list in D and ideally I'd like the corresponding values in E.
What I need to do is have a cell that will be say yellow until there is information put into this cell. The information could be in the format of text or numbers. The information would not always be the same so it would need to be yellow when there is no information in the cell and another colour or white when there is information in the cell.
I have a file consisting of two columns, called, "bom ref" and "material" I need to show the data as indicated in the file, headed required format required.
In effect where I have a 0, that is the material I need to show for every row with a bom ref. of 1,2 or 3, down as far as the next 0 but not including the 0, when I reach the next 0, the material is a new letter, and that letter needs to repeat down as far as the next 0, but not including the 0 and so on.
code which highlights a cell depending on the criteria of another cell.
Example.
In B1 I have the formula =NOW() (we all now what this means).
In B2 I have a completion date.
I would like A2 to fill with a specified colour.
Can this be done so that it works down the whole sheet, if the date is in B5 then only A5 will highlight so basically only the A cell on the same row will change depending on the date in B on the corresponding row?
So, I just started checking Excel Macros. I'm working on a quite large data base where I need to search for a given part number and then move N columns to the right and display the text inside that cell on a message box.
how to make a cell a color depending on a number in a different cell? Example...if A2 is 92.6 how would I make D2 blue? But if A2 were 91.9 how would I make D2 red?
If F3 contains specific word i.e. FCL then only cell K3 and L3 are unlocked or available for data input.
Additional information:
F3:F10002 contain data validation list
I need to apply above condition on K3:K10002 and L3:L10002
I did some search on this forum and I came to know above can only achieve through VBA only. Is there is any possible way without VBA? I'm not good with VBA etc
I have a spread sheet and I want to conditionally format rows to be a certain color. That part I'm fine with. But I don't want them to be a set color. I have a "key" of different colored cells that I want to be the fill colors of the formatting. The ultimate goal is that for example the key looked like this
red blue yellow green
then the rows I had would be formatted as red, blue, yellow, and green. But if you were to go into the key and change the first cell from red to purple, then the rows would become formatted as purple, blue, yellow, and green. Obviously I can copy formating by hand using the format painter, but I want it to update automatically.
Source tab contains vital information about some clients.
In the aggregated tab (Cell C10) I created a formula that pulls the Inflows from the source in a very specific array. So for client 1, this works fine. Now, if i copy my formula to the client 2 (Cell C14), it obviously wont go and look in the correct array in my source.
What i need to do is to be able to copy/paste my formula
[Code].....
(from cells C10 to CC10) to cells C14 to CC14, but when copied, the look up array changes to:
Formula: [Code] ....
I will have to fill this formula to at least 100 entries down, so i need to make it work with ease
The good thing is that all look up values in the source increase by a fixed number of rows (12). I tried playing with index/rows formula.. no luck..
I need to achieve the situation below with a formula. I have tried simply doing, for example, = B3+1 but this throws an error, probably because the value being checked is alphanumeric.
Data A001
Data A002
Add next number (A003) when data entered in cell to left
I am trying to make a calendar spreadsheet to enable me to track allowance payments i am due from my company.
This payment is worked out by three conditions - where i am working (7 regions), how many days of the week (4,5,6 or7) and how many hours (<7,8-9 or 10-12)
I have made drop down lists to select each of the values for the three conditions and want to show the total for them
i can total the entire spreadheet for the month up using fairly large "COUNTIF" statements, but i want to be able to show what the exact amount is in each cell not just a complete total.
i.e. i am away for 6 days i get £15 extra, if i am in Europe i get another £50 and if i work 12 hours i get £30.
I want to be able to calculate this total in each cell for that day.
I can send a copy of the spreadsheet i have got at the moment if that will make things clearer than what i have tried to explain.
I have three lists in the first sheet 'Food', 'Quantity', 'Points Value' Each food (i.e. tuna, pasta, anchovies) has a quantity (i.e. 40g) and a points value (i.e. '50'). The first list ('Food') has been copied as a drop down list in the second sheet. When selecting a food, I would like the cells 'quantity' and 'points value' to pre-fill - taking the data from the first sheet.
i.e. if say Anchovies has the quantity value '30g' and Points Value '2' on the first sheet, then in the second sheet if anchovies was selected from the drop-down menu, these values would add themselves. how to do this? I have attached a sample file shwoing what I want to do.
I have a work sheet that is used for pricing purposes as follows
Column "A" contains a number between 0 to 4, where
0 defines a clear row 1 Defines Product Category 2 Sub Category 3 Actual product
Column "B" contains line item e.g
A 1 would produces 1 A 2 would produce 1.1 A 3 will produce 1.1.1 A 4 will produce 1.1.1.1 and so on
Column "E" contains the description of the product.
What i wish to do is if column "B" contains a "2" indent text in Column "E" by 1px, and if column "B" contains a "3" indent text in Column "E" by 2px and so on. If this could be added into a conditional formatting formula that would be good.
From what i have searched i cant find a means of doing this or a suitable function to assist in the formula.
I'm trying to set up an if statement that will recognize that if a cell is FHR it will do something...but if it's PHR it will do something else. I think I found the place where I keep getting an error but I'm not sure how to go about fixing the issue.
