I have a boolean toggle for disabling and enabling a Workbook_Change event.
Right I invoke macros to turn the Workbook_Change event on and off and I don't know what state it's in.
Two Questions:
1) (required) I would love to be able to visually know if it's enabled no matter which sheet I am on
2) (bonus) Be able to change the state with a persistent interface (e.g. perhaps the Ribbon?) no matter which sheet I am on.
I have a workbook that was opened with a Word macro but was mistakenly not made visible. I didnot realize the workbook was open because I didn't see it. I tried to open it manually and found that it was locked for editing because it was already open due to the Word macro opening it. How do I close it?

Is there a way to move all the active cell to A1 and make sure rows A:D or so are showing?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy company has complicated time sheets because we have several tasks that are billed differently to different people. Once a month we have to sit down and compile everything from several forms and so forth. I have created a worksheet that pulls all the numbers together so that they can simply be copied and pasted into our reports. The hope was to simply copy this worksheet into a time sheet workbook and it will pull out all of the correct numbers. Although all the time sheet workbooks are set up the same way, whenever I copy the file into another time sheet workbook the program keeps its references from the workbook it was in. Make sense? is there a formula that I can insert into an array to tell it to pull the information from the worksheet with the same name, but in the active workbook?
here is one of the equations I am working with:
{=TRANSPOSE('1st week'!A10:L48)}
so it would look something like this maybe
{=TRANSPOSE('[active workbook]1st week'!A10:L48)} but this doesn't work of course.
I am trying to count only visible cells where column AB = Active.
This is what I am currently have .

Is it possible to have those small drop-down boxes that appear when typing in the function parameters (using Enum), to also appear with ParamArray parameters as well?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to loop through my workbook and distinguish (somehow) all of the cells that are named. I would like to do something to them so that I can easily glance through my workbook and find all ranges that aren't named. My biggest problem is that I would like whatever distinguishing I do to be reversable. Therefore, I can't just make all of the backgrounds of named ranges bright yellow, because then I would lose the original background color of my cells (they aren't all white).
The best option that I have thought of so far is inverting the fill color of each cell (this would be reversible). However, I'm not sure how to invert colors.
By the way, if the named ranges could be distinguished in some other way than by using background color, that would be fine too, as long as the changes are reversible.
I am trying to create a daily task activity sheet. I would like to know, how to make the columns visible and invisible as per the selection from previous column.
For eg:
Column A has a list which has values 'TC creation' , 'TC modification', 'System Test' etc.
Upon selecting TC creation, i need to make a column visible ie 'total tcs created'.
Upon selecting 'TC modification' i would have to make the previous column invisible and make a new column visible for entering no of tcs modified.
Upon selecting 'System test' the other columns should go invisible and make other 3 columns visible for no of tcs executed, no of tcs passed, no of tcs failed etc...
I have put calendar in my form and I want it to be visible only if I click on the combobox and make it invisible when date gets filled in the combobox.

I have a user form with multipage.
With the use of the option buttons,the page needs to made visible or invisible.
Example: on Page one, i have placed radio buttons as page2,Page3&page4.
By default only page 1 should be visible and when we select radio button page2, page2 should become visible or else it should be invisible,when we select radio button page3, page3 should become visible or else should remain invisible.
I'm having some trouble getting control ENTER & EXIT events to fire properly when having controls embedded on frames within a userform. I'm using Excel 2003, 2007, & 2010. Here's the userforms I'm working with:

In both cases, the DESCRIPTION field is disabled. The selectable controls on both are a combo-box, textbox, listbox, & 2 buttons. On the FRAMED version, the combo-box & textbox are contained on a FRAME.

All this is doing is posting a message to the listbox when the combo-box ENTER & EXIT events fire. This works as expected without the FRAME, ENTER is shown when the combo-box is entered and EXIT is shown as focus is moved to another control. But when running it on the FRAMED version all I get is a single ENTER event recorded regardless of how I move the focus through the control set.
Another oddity is that if I have more than 1 control that can receive focus on the FRAMED version, it appears to work correctly.

I am trying to add something to a spreadsheet. I want to do some Conditional Formatting but I am not certain on what the formula would be to accomplish it. I am putting the Cond Format in cell E5 and I need a formula to say: IF F5 AND G5 are BLANK then do the format I set up which is simply to fill the cell with RED. (.ColorIndex = 3)
The next portion of my problem is I need to revise my VBA Coding to check and make sure that there is not any cells in Column E that have the Formatting Active. This is the portion of code I need to alter. I have changed the wording of the message but am not sure on how to change the IF statement:

I've been using the following code to bring in individual cell values from one closed workbook to an active one. I would like to modify this is possible to bring in multiple cells at once and also pull them into a different worksheet in the active workbook. Basically, my command button is on Sheet1 but I'd like the data to pull into a cell on Sheet2.

I run a model in Excel that automatically saves my file every xx iterations. After saving the file I want to make a backup of the file. Tried

but get a permission denied error message.
I don't want to use .SaveAs as it is a huge file that takes a while to save and SaveAs has a tendency to break links that should not be broken..
I have some vba that opens a closed workbook, copies data from a named range and then pastes it to the active workbook.
However, what is happening is that the closed workbook is opened and only part of the data is pasted. What I would prefer to happen is this:
Open the closed workbook-->copy the named range-->paste(append) to next empty cell in column B.

I have a button on a sheet that runs a macro to unhide another sheet. That works, but I want the sheet made visible to remain forward. Instead, the button unhides the sheet and the sheet the button is on comes forward again. I am unable to figure how to keep the sheet made visible forward. Here is the macro 'as recorded'.

I have created a macro in this workbook that calls an "Open" dialog for CSV files that I can use to browse to and open the source file. The macro then is supposed to "select all" copy and close the workbook then make the original workbook active and paste the data starting at row 2. The macro "seems" to be working perfectly except when I do the open the macro then makes the original workbook active, selects all copies then wants to close the original workbook. How can I tell the macro that the csv file that I just opened should be the active workbook, baring in mind that the name won't be known before the time it's opened so I can't hardcode the "active. workbook (NAME) "route.
