I would like to run a calculation based on selected active range in sheet. I tried several methods and cannot make it work.

I managed to make hidden sheets unhidden. However, after doing so, the first sheet stays active. How can I correct this? EXCEL 2010.

I am trying to make a spreadsheet that will have a weekly schedule and will recognize and make some sort of message box or something when a person's name is used twice in the same range. For example, if Smith is in B2 and in B4 then message box. I'm not sure how to do this.

My thought was to make a variable range to check if anything in B2:B7 is equal to say, B3. But the range B2:B7 would have to exclude the cell that is compared, B3. Otherwise it is always true.

What I want to do is when a button is clicked, the range of data in columns 2-9 of the active row gets copied. Then a new sheet is created and the data is then pasted to a range in that new sheet.

The VB I have done so far works fine but its specific to a single range - it doesnt take account of the active row.

Sort Range On Non Active Sheet

I'm trying to sort data on sheet1 and sheet2. I'm running all macros from sheet one and I need it to stay active all of the time. I'm using the following code to sort sheet2. When I sort the column on sheet2 with the code, I can not get back to sheet one without an error.

I am not sure if I am using the correct terminology when I see "array". What I want to do in VBA is what I know how to do in non-vba excel functions (cntrl + shift + enter). For example, I have a range of cells that need to meet one condition ( ""):

Copy Range Of Cells To Active Row In Second Sheet

Sheet 1 has data entered into it, it is then printed out as a jobsheet, saved and the data cleared. There are certain fields on this sheet that are eventually manually replicated onto sheet 2. The row in which they must go on sheet 2 will always be the 'activerow' on that sheet from a previous operation. It would make life so much easier and save lots of time if I could incorporate copying cells C10,C12,K8,K12,M2,C27 and C29 from sheet 1 to respective cells H,I,J,M,N,R,S of the active row on sheet 2 before I carry out the clear data process.

Named Range That Refers To Active Sheet

is there a way to have the same named range cover a range of cells regardless of which sheet you are on? They seem to want to default to the page you are on. I want to make some VBA subroutines that will go over each sheet, and perform the same functions on each sheet. All sheets have the same format, but different data. I guess worst case scenario I can just break down and use multiple workbooks, but this seems a little less desirable. Should I be dividing this into seperate posts?

Automatically Decrease Value To Make Total Equal 100

I receive a large file every month with 30K+ rows of data that need to be manipulated manually before I can send it off. Within the data are "chunks" of data that are anywhere from 1 to 90 rows each. Each chunk needs to total 100 or less, and while they do for the most part, some end up over 100 due to rounding (usually 100.02 or so). The rows above and below each chunk are blank, and I currently have a calc to add each chunk, and flag it if it's over 100. Then, I have to go through each of the flagged chunks and manually decrease one of the lines to make the total 100.

Is there any way to automate any or all of this procedure?

I have attached a sample file with two chunks of data. The actual files contains 14 more columns to the left that aren't shown.

Make Textbox In Userform Equal Cell Value?

I am trying to make my textbox on the userform equal a cell value in a column. I need the userform to look at the last cell that has a value in a column and display that value into the textbox on the userform.

Ex. I am starting my data from Cell "O8" and the last possible row would be "O51" Starting with O8 I need my textbox in the userform to read this cell value. After each entry the next row in Column O will have a value, so I would need my userform textbox to read cell "O9" value the next time the user form opens. Here is what I got thus far:

When I copy the tab and change some of the data within the cells, I want the macro refer to the chart on the current tab and the values in the current tab - as currently it refers to only "Chart 2" and the values in the tab 'Figure 2 - WE OPH'.

I've tried changing the sheet name to ActiveSheet.name but that doesn't seem to work.

Could someone show me an alternate way of using/writing this code instead of using RC references to the Sheet1. I am trying to select ranges that dynamically change according to the range of data in the next column. This is the code I have but it is static in the range it chooses.

how to set up an equation for an unknown variable in a formula equal to 0 (an Even-Money Probability Formula for Risk Arbitrage assessments).

The formula is as follows, where I am attempting to solve for Pe:

(Pe*EP)+(P2*EL)=0

Pe=even money probability (placed in column B1 in Excel)
EP=expected profit if deal closes (placed in column B2 in Excel)
P2=probability of deal breaking up (=1-Pe) (placed in column B3 in Excel)
EL=expected loss if deal breaks up (placed in column B4 in Excel)

B1*B2)+(B3*B4)=0

So, once again, I am attempting to solve for Pe, or column B1

B1=(-(1-B1)*B4)/B2

say, EP (or B2) =\$2.00 and EL (or B4)=-\$4.00

I have a boolean toggle for disabling and enabling a Workbook_Change event.

Right I invoke macros to turn the Workbook_Change event on and off and I don't know what state it's in.

Two Questions:
1) (required) I would love to be able to visually know if it's enabled no matter which sheet I am on
2) (bonus) Be able to change the state with a persistent interface (e.g. perhaps the Ribbon?) no matter which sheet I am on.

Is there a way to move all the active cell to A1 and make sure rows A:D or so are showing?

My company has complicated time sheets because we have several tasks that are billed differently to different people. Once a month we have to sit down and compile everything from several forms and so forth. I have created a worksheet that pulls all the numbers together so that they can simply be copied and pasted into our reports. The hope was to simply copy this worksheet into a time sheet workbook and it will pull out all of the correct numbers. Although all the time sheet workbooks are set up the same way, whenever I copy the file into another time sheet workbook the program keeps its references from the workbook it was in. Make sense? is there a formula that I can insert into an array to tell it to pull the information from the worksheet with the same name, but in the active workbook?

here is one of the equations I am working with:

{=TRANSPOSE('1st week'!A10:L48)}

so it would look something like this maybe

{=TRANSPOSE('[active workbook]1st week'!A10:L48)} but this doesn't work of course.

Conditional Formatting And A VBA Code To Make Sure The Cond. Form Is NOT Active

I am trying to add something to a spreadsheet. I want to do some Conditional Formatting but I am not certain on what the formula would be to accomplish it. I am putting the Cond Format in cell E5 and I need a formula to say: IF F5 AND G5 are BLANK then do the format I set up which is simply to fill the cell with RED. (.ColorIndex = 3)

The next portion of my problem is I need to revise my VBA Coding to check and make sure that there is not any cells in Column E that have the Formatting Active. This is the portion of code I need to alter. I have changed the wording of the message but am not sure on how to change the IF statement:
