I have a row D2:ND2 where each cell contains a date from October 1st through to September 20th). I also have a column NI3:NI13 that contains various dates such as Easter or bank holidays. Would it be possible to use conditional formatting (or something else) to highlight all rows below D2:ND2 if the dates specified in each cell in D2:ND2 match any of the dates in column NI3:NI13?

I have two cells with values that are strings.
I would like to know of a macro that can compare each two cells(start from E2 and compare with E3)to see if the values are NOT equal.
If they are equal, do nothing and if they are NOT, highlight the value.
Example:
compare E2&E3, E4,E5,E6,E7,.... if for example E2&E3, E4,E5,E6,E7,.... each hat same string, do nothing, but if they were not the same highlight it with red.
This code checks two cells and highlights one cell when there is duplicate, I like the opposite one, but don't know what to change!

I have a lottery pool in sheet 1 in which i have the names of the people and their number picks. In sheet 2 i have the lottery results.
All i want is to be able to highlite(adding a backround color in the cell) to the matching numbers in sheet 1.
Please see the attached example. I'm trying to highlight cells only if 2 values in the row match 2 values in another row. If a book title/author combination matches that of another title/author combination in a different row, it would highlight. Some alternate rows will contain different titles by the same author, and some rows will have like titles by different authors...but they should not highlight.
The only situation where highlighting would occur is if the title/author pairing appears in another row.
I'm trying to decide if this would be a conditional formatting/highlighting rule, or if it would be a macro/vbs?

I want to highlight rows if there are multiple instances of ID and # values - I included a column at the end showing which rows in this data set would be highlighted.
I've been asked to assist with modifications of an excel spreadsheet. One of the features is a column that has a formula of what the total order should be. For example, 1 base order of 25.00, plus 1 bonus order of 18.00, plus 2 bonus orders of 15.00 would be $73.00 due. Then data entry persons enter the actual amount collected. Is there a way to highlight either the cell or the result if the amount collected does not equal the amount due? I know I can accomplish this with another column, but they want to keep the columns to a minimum.
This is for a non-profit agency and the orders are now at 1000 that must be entered within a day or two period, so they want to keep the fields to a minimum so as to make the entry easier for those doing the input. And they would like the data entry person to see an immediate flag if what he or she enters as collected does not equal what is due.
I am trying to figure out how to highlight the row of cells within the column that contains the same date as the date in cell e:1 the date in cell e:1 changes daily because the formula says =today(). With that said, the column contains every date of the year so i would just like to be able to have the row, that contains the same date as the date in cell e:1, highlighted AUTOMATICALLY.

how I can create a formula that would highlight the cell in a colour if the date was past todays date? This is what I'm doing - I have the expiry date of people's insurances. so e.g todays date is 8 th January, so if the insurance had expired 31.12.08, i would want the cell to be highlighted red. I think it may be an IF function but I cant remember.

He normally sorts the columns on the arrival date to prevent scheduling issues. He recently made two mistakes on the same day when he didn't sort the columns.
Is there a way how either/both cells can be highlighted if either fall within any of the periods in the rows above?
If a cell has not been filled in by its "Completion date" I want it to flag as Urgent in the Status Column. How do I do this?

I have 49 random numbers esquire 7*7 in the cells B2:H8, and the lottery result in the cells B11:H20, and the result dates in cells A11:B20.
What I want is it possible if I select the cell for example in A11, then numbers are in cells B11:H11 can be highlighted in random number esquire, as shown in the example.
And If I select A12 then highlighted number of this row cells B12:H12 and if cell A13...A14...or...?

View 12 Replies View RelatedThe purpose of the attached spreadsheet is to record whether or not my company has stock of each item, on every day. It currently works by doing a VLOOKUP in each cell if the date matches todays date which is generated by the formula on the TOTALS tab, cell I2. The current days stock levels are refreshed by a database query on the DATA tab and then totaled up on the TOTALS tab. The VLOOKUP formula returns the stock level and if we are out of stock then we are manually formatting the relevant cell on the REPORT tab red.
It has been suggested to me that there might be a way to do this via conditional formatting although I cannot work out how as once the current day changes to tomorrow then the formula in the previous cell no longer returns a value and the conditional formatting would return teh cell colour to white. Is it possible to automate this process using VBA so that whenever the sheet is opened (daily) then it will copy and paste special the relevant stock level for that day against the correct product?
I'm trying to have a date selector dropdown box added on sheet as where indicated. This will have an option of last 1-10 draws which will trigger from cells a4:a13. Next, I need a submission button put on sheet as where indicated. When pressed it will give results in cells m4:n29.
Now the match part will lookup the source #'s entered from L6:L11, note these source numbers are repeated for match lookup for each date. The match should look for matching numbers derived from cells c4:j13. If a match is found it will then display the colored text as indicated in my sample, if no match is found it will display " No Match " in black text.
I could not find an easy solution to the find/remove duplicates in a row from left to right.
I have an other option: sort all data in one row, then it will show me, if there are any cells with the same word.
But .. here is my first problem:
First row is A1: AS1 with data.
A2: BB2 with data
A3: BD3 with data
A4: BX4 with data and so on.
When I start at A1 and press Shift/CTRL/Arrow right, it will hilite the row until BX1 and if I use the sort command, it will place all empty cells in front of the data.
What I need is hilite only up to the last column in that row.
So I could slowly work myself downward. Or prehaps there is a formula?
I could insert an empty space and write the formula in A1 and copy it down to A1644.
I'm comparing budgeted dollars vs. actual dollars spent by month. So row 10 has 13 columns (column A is title and then B-M is Jan-Dec) with each cell containing a budgeted dollar amount. Row 26 is same setup but contains actual dollars spent for those months. I want to highlight any cells in row 26 that are greater than the same cell in row 10. So if H26 is $1,000 and H10 is $500, I want H26 to be highlighted in red. How can I do this without having to conditionally format each individual cell as I can't seem to make this work with a cell range in Conditional Formatting?

The A row is purchase order no and then I3 and J3 belongs to KIt means if a po is not then I3 and J3 are empty so A3 is high Lighted in REd and if a po is placed then we put supplier name in I3 and it changes the color to yellow and when a po is confirmed we put confirmation date in J3 so A3 turns to green.
So in this way we can see if any Po is not yet placed or not yet confirmed based on cell color.

I want to be able to easily see where model inputs are and inputs will always be cells that do not have precedents and do have at least one dependent.
I have played with a number of methods with very little success. Is there an easy way to test whether or not a cell has a precedent or dependent within the workbook?
