I want to highlight rows if there are multiple instances of ID and # values - I included a column at the end showing which rows in this data set would be highlighted.
I need to creating a macro to highlight entire rows if a cell in that row (C) contains specific values.

I would like to know of a macro that can compare each two cells(start from E2 and compare with E3)to see if the values are NOT equal.
If they are equal, do nothing and if they are NOT, highlight the value.
Example:
compare E2&E3, E4,E5,E6,E7,.... if for example E2&E3, E4,E5,E6,E7,.... each hat same string, do nothing, but if they were not the same highlight it with red.
This code checks two cells and highlights one cell when there is duplicate, I like the opposite one, but don't know what to change!

I have a 14 column report with a dynamic range of rows. In Column A, there will only be one cell that contains the text "Added Sections:".
I need to highlight, 10 whole rows up to the 14th column, after the cell that contains "Added Sections:".
I'm looking for a formula to sum three adjacent cell values in a specific row and then sum up all of the rows.

4 4 0
For example, the value for the above would return 17 = [(1+0+2)+(3+1+2)+(4+4+0)]
When I enter number in cells the row that i am on is highlighted, this is standard.
Is it possible to have the same thing happen but highlight a specific column as I go down rather than the row number instead?
I want to highlight part of a row ie I25-P25 if a specific cell in that row is 0 (O25) Cant figure out a formula to do this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a spreadsheet (70 columns numbered 1-70 x 200 rows (1-200) and I need to highlight specific cells using the respective co-ordinates i.e. row x column which I have in separate columns.
My issue concerns going down rows in a data set. Due to the fact that the data set I am pulling from is not standardized, and roughly 10% of the data set has two extra rows of extraneous data below the reference cell (foreign currency balances which I don't need). The point in my formula is the "+2" (down two rows) condition. I needed it so that the "+2" is replaced with a condition inwhich after the reference cell in the INDEX( and MATCH( function is found the command goes down rows until the term "USD" is found. My formula is as follows:

I have a row D2:ND2 where each cell contains a date from October 1st through to September 20th). I also have a column NI3:NI13 that contains various dates such as Easter or bank holidays. Would it be possible to use conditional formatting (or something else) to highlight all rows below D2:ND2 if the dates specified in each cell in D2:ND2 match any of the dates in column NI3:NI13?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been asked to assist with modifications of an excel spreadsheet. One of the features is a column that has a formula of what the total order should be. For example, 1 base order of 25.00, plus 1 bonus order of 18.00, plus 2 bonus orders of 15.00 would be $73.00 due. Then data entry persons enter the actual amount collected. Is there a way to highlight either the cell or the result if the amount collected does not equal the amount due? I know I can accomplish this with another column, but they want to keep the columns to a minimum.
This is for a non-profit agency and the orders are now at 1000 that must be entered within a day or two period, so they want to keep the fields to a minimum so as to make the entry easier for those doing the input. And they would like the data entry person to see an immediate flag if what he or she enters as collected does not equal what is due.
Hi, I'm very new to writing Excel Macro's and wanted to know if I could do the following. Conceptually, I understand what I need done and think it should be fairly straightforward.
There's 2 main events in this loop (I hope that's the correct terminology):
Input 1) User defines the beginning cell to start the loop. In this case, A2.
Input 2) User defines the range of columns/rows to display. The formula for rows that I've thought of is 4r. So if a user wants 20 rows below cells A2, they simply input 5 for r. The number of columns is a constant 5. So if r=5, then I'd want the range to be A2:E22......
In a column in which there are repeating numbers is there a formula I can enter into conditional formatting that will highlight a cell when the number doesn't match the value from the value above it?
So in this example the values with an * would be highlighted.

I have an excel spread sheet & I wish to highlight any cell that contains any of the following characters with in a string of text.

E.g. a cell in the spread sheet containing the text "Is this a Question?" would be highlighted.
I have tried to use - 'Format only cells that contain' > Specific Text > Containing > for each of the characters and this does not work.
When I do this any cell containing any text is highlighted.
In addition there is formatting on any cell > 60 characters which turns the cell red and this works fine.
What would happen if (when I get the problem above resolved), a cell is > than 60 characters & contains a character listed above?
Does 1 formatting take precedent over another?
(Not critical to know the answer to the additional question, just curious - as long as it is highlighted one colour or another then no problem.)
Column A lists an account code on the summary line of each invoice. I'd like to copy this account code upwards for each individual line of the invoice so that I can summarise each type of charge by account code in a pivot table.
I'm a bit stumped as to how to do it. If possible I don't want to have to modify the data itself in any way so that I can paste new data in the each day without altering it.
I've started on the right with a CountA function for each row, which I was intending as a means to identifying the blanks rows and discount them, but it also showed up that each line requiring an account code to be copied returns a 4 and each invoice summary line returns a 9. I'm just not sure how to reflect this in a function.
Is there a VBA code I can use that will delete all rows that contain "ABC" or "YXZ" or "HHH" in column A ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to write a macro that will select all the rows which contain a value in a specific column. Say for example, all the instances of "test" in column C, I need to select the entire row with that value in the column.
I should also mention that by using an autofilter, only specific row numbers are selected. The source spreadsheet is dynamic and will not always display the same value in the same row, and thus I need something a little more adaptable.
I have workbook "Sheet1" that has many rows and columns with values. Could I have code to find the cells value "plant2300" in column A and copy all the rows in column A that has the cell value "2300" into workbook Sheet2 (also copy with headers from Sheet1 to Sheet2 row 1).

Then identify the 2 maximum values greater than 0.00% in rows with percentages only. The sheet changes in size (rows and columns) each day. C4 Row 4 is a constant starting place if that is necessary. I have a spreadsheet where if Cell A2 says "Deposit", Rows A2-E2 would be formatted with a Blue background.
I've tried conditional formatting, but I can't built it into a Macro (I can't make it run), and it only highlights the cell that has that value. I also tried having the spreadsheet filter down to only the values I want highlighted, then highlighting all cells and un-filtering the column- this didn't work either.
It would basically say :
If (any cell in Row A) has text = "Deposit" (it needs to be exact, it can't be "containing"), set cell with the word "Deposit" and 4 cells to the right as Blue (I'm not picky about the color).

write a script to match a cell value then copy and paste the matching row across two worksheets - "Master List" and "Demographics".
These two worksheets have the same cell values in Column A, the key difference is the Column A cell order in the second worksheet "Demographics". This Column A cell order is set arbitrarily by another system and will vary over time.
I would like to match the rows, then paste the three columns from the second worksheet into the first worksheet.
For example:
"Demographics" Worksheet Cell A2 = "Master List" Worksheet A45 - then copy cells A2, B2 and C2 and paste into A45, B45, C45 respectively.
"Demographics" Worksheet Cell A49 = "Master List" Worksheet A12 - then copy cells A49, B49 and C49 and paste into A12, B12, C12 respectively.
