i have a file that needs to have daily postings to it, I would like for it to automatically generate today's date and then if you change figure 1, it carries over to figure 2.
I am trying to automatically reference the contents of another file into my main file. Basically I have one schedule that I've automatically generated in AutoCAD, and another formatted template. The AutoCAD schedule is completely unformated.
I want to include a link to the AutoCAD scheule (a *.CSV file) on my main spreadsheet and have the autoCAD schedule populate my template. I've done some reading, primarily on here, and I think I need to use either the INDIRECT() or the INDEX() function.
I can get INDIRECT() to work, but it's fairly repetitive (not overly important, but still.....). More importantly, though, the schedule file has to be open, which I would like to avoid if possible. INDEX(), I just can't figure out how to work!
I presently have a macro that, when run, takes to conents of C4 and C6 and saves a new version of the file being worked on into a folder on my desktop. I love the macro with the exception of one part: I don't want to be prompted to overwrite the file if it already exists. How can I change this macro so that, when pressed, it overwrites the file without prompting the user and waiting for their answer?
VBA coding for automatically saving an excel file as another file using the current date as part of the file name together with "32ga" as a constant add-in. I also what this macro to run at a particular time of the day let say 00:20hrs. The excel file i want to save as is always open . It has data that changes every 24-hrs.

I have a sheet(Sample.xlsx) in which weekly data is collected and this is done by using the VBA code(Present in Copy 1 and Copy 2 button in Master US.xlsm) written by me. But in my code, it inserts a new after asking two parameters, i.e. line range(i.e. row no for eg A64) and date. I want it to automatically search row containing last date and inserts row below it and this needs to be implemented in "Insert Automatically" and "Insert Date" button using VBA code in Master US.xlsm sheet.I dont have problem with second paramenter.
Logic i want to use :
Itergation of whole page { If (col A<>Date)&& col A=Average(i.e. contains average word) then inserts row above that row
And then ask for date to enter using date variable.

I have a requirement to download a lot of historical data files from the archieve of an website. The url goes something like this: [URL]....
This downloads file for 21022014 ie. 21-Feb-2014. I need to be able to have a facility to have a selection criteria on my user form (in excel) where I specify a date range and the macro automatically downloads all the valid excel files available within that date range (files for Saturday, Sunday and some holiday dates will not be available in the website archive database) one after the other (like at single clcik of button) into a specific location (predefined viz.. c:/Users/EOD files/) on my laptop. Best would be if I am able to select the save location run time by using a 'Browse' like feature where I go and choose my local laptop folder...same type when we try uploading a file from our laptop to the web..
I do routine tasks every day which involves opening 3 different files and pasting data into my main file. The data is always in the same format, and the 3 files are saved in the same location (3 different folders through). The 3 files are saved each day and the naming convention is constant, with only the date changing. For example, the files are always saved in C:My Documents and the files are called test_05.02.2013.xls. Tomorrow the file will be called test_06.02.2013.xls and so on.
So each day I will be rolling a file forward and I want to bring in the info from each of these files based on the new day.
How to do 1, and I will do the others (because the concept will be the same).
I need to open an excel file based on a date mentioned in the file name, but minus 1 day. The file name is composed with Statistics_date_time.xls
Example: statistics_20140423_142754.xls
Once I need to open the file (only in the mornings), it has to be the one from the previous day to see the yesterdays performance. How can I create a macro that will look at the date in the file and take the one from yesterday?

I have a template file that I import data in to, which is then saved with the current date. This works, but I want to automate the import of the data, but ensure I don't duplicate the load. Therefore, I have a tab 'FileLog' that I record the filename (variable by date) in column A and Creation timestamp in column B.
How do I obtain the filename and creation timestamp of the import data so that they can be entered?
how do i go about saving an Excel sheet (template) automatically, using data stored in the A1 cell of Sheet1 as the file name. i want to use an Excel template to capture data, and then store the data in a central location. to do this i am thinking of getting the template to automatically save to a set location e.g. C/: files. is there a simple way to do this.
Basically, at month end, my company will create a new folder with the name as YYYY_MM (e.g. 2012_11). In this folder, a new file will be created as: earnings_YYYY_MM (e.g. earnings_2012_11).
What I want is to automatically update the link to the most recent file: earnings_YYYY_MM, whenever it is available. For example, next month there will be a new file earnings_2012_12 created in the new folder 2012_12, then the new file will be linked with.
We are using an excel file, which doesn't contain more then 1MB of data and have few "count and sum" formulae. but size of file keeps fluctuating from 1MB to 500MB. some time the size of file would be 1MB and once you will refresh the window file size will go to 480MB or some random number.

I have a macro that saves zip files automatically from outlook every day and saves over those zip files (which I want). But now I need to unzip those files and save their csv files in a different folder. I will be saving over the same csv files everyday.
(I have 5 zip files saved and named and each file contains just 1 csv file)
I have had a look at Ron de Bruin's code but he requires you to open the and search for the zip file. I would like this to unzip and save automatically without having to use "Application.Getopen".

I am trying to fix is that I have two computers networked together both with multiple users all with access to the report form that I am using which is in the shared file. If I have been working on it (I am still trying to do improvements when I have time), and I have to leave for a fire or forget to close the report, no one can access it other than with read-only.
My idea was to run some type of code that either when the screen saver comes on or after so much time with no activity, it would close and save the file with a new file name(just in case I don't want the changes that I have made in the code or something).
I have attached a file that I need to update every hour and send to an email address every hour from 9am to 4pm on certain days of the week. To update this file, I need to hit "update" and "enable links" and it needs to send to a certain email every hour. Is there a way to automate this process?
I have automated an import procedure and it works but I don't want to click OK every time the File Import window comes up. I find the filename (with Application.FileSearch) and then import it (with ActiveSheet.QueryTables.Add...). Then it brings up a window titled "Import Text File" with the correct file selected. It seems unnecessary to click OK every time. I tried Application.DisplayAlerts = False, but this isn't an alert. I'm overwhelmed by the other .Display... options and was wondering if someone knew which Application property applied to the Import window and how I could automatically "click" yes without doing it myself. if the date format is like this 6/10/2013 12:00:00 AM the result is fine, but when i try to copy that formula for the succeeding dates the results is same from what i copied.
I am trying to have the total (cell e78) from one of my own excel files automatically filled into a cell in a different excel file when the number of that file is typed into a third cell. i.e. if the total on Ticket 4126 in cell e78 is $4500, then when I type 4126 into the Ticket # cell on my seperate Invoice I'd like it to fill in the third cell under Amount as $4500. Is this possible?
I would like excel to automatically suggest the save as file name and location for my workbook when I click the save, save as or close options. The file name should be a combination of values in cells A1 and A2 of Sheet1. The location should be a folder named "Bill" in C:/My Documents. I think I can do it with a beforesave code but I am new to vba.
I am working on a file that is going to import and then manipulate data from another excel file automatically. I would like this to be as smooth as possible and I am running into a problem. The file I am importing the data from is password protected, so I am opening it in read-only. Also, the file contains links to other excel files.
What I would like to do is indicate in the code to open the file in read-only format so that the user doesn't get a message box asking for the password. Also, is there a way to suppress the message box about updating the links? I have tried application.displayalerts = false but that didn't solve my problem.
