I want the contents of the text box (which will be input by the user) to update a cell in another worksheet. I have found numerous examples of how to display the contents of a cell in the text box but I want to know how to display the text box contents in a cell.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got the bare bones of a toolbox control on my userform but I can seem to find anyway to refer to the buttons and control them (I’ve tried using the properties page but it doesn't seem to give me the options I need). I want to be able to add a macro and a picture to the buttons, is this possible?
Eg.

I've looked for ages on the board but can only find threads on creating toolbars in the application, not on userforms.
I am an average user of excel and i am wanting some help with macros. I can record macros, that i do understand. Its the part where you can assign the macros to the Checkbox i have created.
The effect i am trying to create is that when the checkbox has a tick in it, certain properties happen to a cell. But when the checkbox has no tick in it something else happens to the cell. I have recorded 2 macros for what i want to happen its just getting it associated with the true/false of the checkbox.
I have no Visual Basic Experience and i have tried reading other posts, but the code just goes right over my head at the moment. Thanks in advance for anyhelp. I can attach the spreadsheet etc...

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to have a cell in a diffrent work sheet display information from another sheet.
I entered ='Weapons Table'!A48 and it is displaying in text not what is actually in that cell.
on the cell above it I have entered ='Weapons Table'!A47 and it displays fine.
I've tried typing = then just clicking the cell, and it is still just displaying it as text. I've spent 3 days on this sheet and have only 1 error, that is driving me crazy.
I am making a spreadsheet which would have the record of the audit that i am doing on my patients. Along with other details i want to give link of the routine followups of their disease picture in their specific spreadsheet cell. I have searched the internet about it where i have come to know about hyperlinking. However, my concern about hyperlinking is that i want the spreadsheet with pictures to be portable to other PCs which wouldn't be possible with hyperlinking. Also including the pictures in the spreadsheet would be very troublesome as the size would enormously increase once the data continues to grow.I want to include photos in column L, R, V, Z & AD.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy drop downs are simple yes/no/NA witht a down arrow apprearing to the right. Works fine for all users except one troublemaker who for some reason sees the text and arrow as a mirrored, upside down image. It's not rotated to be upside down, it's mirrored so if you turned your monitor upside down you'd see the letters in the words backwards as if looking in a mirror. We're both on Excel 2007.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have one cell with $20,000 hard coded (cell A1). In another cell I want the cell to say "20,000 Capital Raise" (cell B1). And i want B1 to link to A1 so that if i change the number in A1 it will also change in B1.
Here's what i have in B1 so far: ="$"&J6&" Capital Raise"
This produces "$20000 Capital Raise" in cell B1.
So the only thing i'm trying to figure out is how to get the comma in the $20,000 so it will read "$20,000" instead of "$20000".
I am using an excel spread sheet as a larger display on a huge projected screen with numbers at a large charity event. It is a reverse raffle, so as your name is called you are out of the raffle. I would like to link the cell to a specific powerpoint slide which has the name and town of the specific ticket buyer. When double clicking on the cell listing their number the ticket buyers name and town would appear as a powerpoint a window in the middlle of the excel screen for all to see and then disappear after a few seconds or disappear when the next cell is double clicked. putting excel data into powerpoint slldes but not the other way around!

To be specific, I linked a cell to a portion of a table on a website showing the current average price of petrol in the U.K. I also linked a cell to a website which showed the current exchange rate for pounds and dollars. I haven't been able to replicate the procedure.

The sheets they the data I need to pull in for them is on sheets that I have such that their visibilty is equal too xlveryhidden. I'm trying to change the captions on labels using the data on the veryhidden sheets. Something like this.

I have a userform with a textbox and would like the user to type inside the textbox which in turn send the text typed to a cell on my spread sheet say sheet 1 cell ref A1. I am writing the following into the control source Sheet1!A1 but the control source does not except this. I am using excel 2007 .

what i want to do is assign a figure in the steel list e.g 203x203x46 UC = £20 per metre and in the quantity list it will just have the quantity required then i will create a cell with the total, so it would go something like (203x203x46 UC = £20 per metre, quantity = 6, total = £120.

I have 2 tabs in a 2013 workbook. Inventory Receipts and lookups. One of the Data verification lookups I have is a drop down list in each cell in Column B (eg: Cat, Dog, Mouse) In the lookups tab I have another cell range containing the sounds (eg: Meow, Bark, Squeak).
What I am trying to acheive is, if B2 contains Cat, then return Meow in B3, if B2 contains Dog then return bark in b3 and if B2 contains Mouse return squeak in B3. Ideally I would like the formula to return the text from my lookup sheet (eg: 'Lookups'!C2,'Lookups'!C3,'Lookups'!C4). So depending on which option they choose from my animal drop down list .. the correct noise would automatically fill in.
I recently moved to Central America and now am working on models that are either in $ or in the local currency (Q). I do not want to change my default currency value in the regional settings of the control panel because it is more convenient for me to stay in $ but it is a pain everytime I want to set a worksheet in Q and not in $.
So, I am wondering how I can change the default values in the currency drop-down list on the Home toolbar under Numbers in Excel 2010.
Currently, it gives me the change to apply the following currencies:
- $ English (US)
- £ English (UK)
- € Euro (€ 123)
- ¥ Chinese (PRC)
- fr. French (Switzerland)
Instead of either the £, ¥ or fr., I would like to have listed the Q, my other frequently used currency.
I have a list of countries in excel and a list of partner countries, the countries all have individual country codes.
Example:
country partner country exporter country code importer country code year value
Australia..........Belgium........................AUS.........................BEL..1999..1000
Canada............Belgium........................CAN.........................BEL..1999..2000
This for a long list of countries, I have filled in the country codes for the first year manually but the list goes on to 2008 and is a lot of work to do manually, (thousands of cells). is there a way to complete the list of exporter and importer codes linked to the country and partner country column and then complete the whole list?

I have an excel that gets updated monthly for reporting. The goal is to get the graphs to update automatically by linking them from excel into power point. This is relatively easy but what when I go to update the report for the next month the data for the old power point changes as well. Is there a way to prevent this?
