Macro To Ask User Which Tabs To Copy To New Workbook

Jul 16, 2014

I have a worksheet that contains about six different tabs. When this form is completed some users might want to have certain tabs copied into a different workbook. Unfortunately each user might want to copy different tabs. I was wondering if there was a Macro that I could write that would ask the users which tabs they want to copy into a new workbook.

Copy Certain Tabs To New Workbook?

Jan 10, 2014

I have a program that takes a templete, copies it, fills in some information and then renames the tab based on text in a cell on that sheet. The code loops so I end up with about ten tabs that are created from the Template.

I want to move these newly created tabs to a new Workbook.

is there a way (code) that will move all the tabs except ones delineated in the code - like the tab named "Template"?

Copy Columns From One User Selected Workbook To Another

Apr 27, 2014

I am using this code to copy columns C,D, and P from a user selected workbook into position C,D,E of workbook "Checklist.xlsx" (the one from were I run the VBA code). I don't have a clue about VBA, just have been gathering info, but the code works pretty fine. The only issue is that it opens twice the workbook "wbExt" hence the system prompts me if i want to reopen the already open workbook.

Some questions:

1) Is there a way to copy the 3 columns at once? something like "Columns("C:D, P").Select".
2) Is there a way to select the workbook from were to copy the column without needing it to actually open?
3) is there a way to paste the columns starting from row 3 instead of row 1 (Range("C1").Select)?

Allow User To Restart Macro Or Close Workbook

I have a macro that runs when the workbook opens. At the end of my macro I've added a Yes/No box. If 'No' the workbook closes without saving. If 'Yes' I would like to restart the macro. I can close it ok, but I don't know how to restart the macro from line 1 when 'Yes' is selected. Here is what I have:

YesNo = MsgBox("Done! Would you like to run again?", vbYesNo + vbCritical, "Caution")
Select Case YesNo
Case vbYes

'I don't know what to put here :(

Case vbNo
ActiveWorkbook.Close savechanges:=False

Macro VBA For Copy Paste Columns Of Data From Three Tabs Into One Column On Separate Sheet

Nov 18, 2013

I have a workbook with four tabs or four sheets.

Tabs 1, 2 and 3 have a column of data (Column A) on each sheet. They all start from the same cell. Each cell of data are just numbers. The column (an array) of data will not have blanks between.

But, they are not the same number of data. They vary.

Meaning, Tab 1 may have 15 numbers (A1 to A15), Tab 2 may have 20 numbers (A1 to A20) and Tab 3 could have 5 numbers (A1 to A5). Each iteration of the workbook may have different number of data in the A column on these tabs.

Now on Tab 4, I want combine the data from all three tabs into one column (in column A).

So, Tab 4 has a column A with data from Tab 1 copy and pasted to (A1 to A15) as values, then (A16 to A35) have Tab 2 data copy pasted as values and (A36 to A40) have Tab 3 data copy pasted as values.

Basically, the macro on Tab 4 has to count the number of rows on each Tab that are populated with data values and figure out to copy all the data on Column A from each three tabs and paste the data value into the Tab 4 in one column of data (in values).

Macro To Compare Values In User Specified Columns And Return To Different Workbook

Feb 21, 2014

I am trying to create a macro that will compare several un-formatted workbooks and copy just what I want to a workbook of my one.

I start by having 2 different workbooks opened ("Main" and "Change") side by side like this: 1.jpg

Then i run the macro in my "Main" workbook and it should appear an Userform like it showed in the image below: 2.jpg

This is so that i can manually fill the user form with the correct columns by looking at the excel file, for example:
Ref=E3;City=G3; Data=I3.

Pressing Ok, it fill the "Main" workbook with the matching information so it and closes the "Change" workbook.

At the moment my code is in this stage:

VB:
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
myfile = "C:Userssst1brgDesktopRelatorios" & TextBox1.Value
Application.Workbooks.Open Filename:=myfile
Windows.Arrange ArrangeStyle:=xlVertical

[Code] .....

But I am stuck because there isn't any error and nothing happens.

Allow User To Select Range To Copy Macro Code

Apr 30, 2008

I cant seem to get to work together in the same macro but that work great seperated. I need them to be in the same macro. The first just simply copy's text from one workbook to another:

Sub Test2()
ActiveSheet. Range("a1").Copy _
Destination:=Workbooks("punchlist.xls"). Sheets("Sheet1").Cells(Rows.Count,1).End(xlup).Offset(1,0)
End Sub

That worked ok but I needed to change it to the "active cell" instead of cell "a1". So then this line of code was made:

Dim userInputCell As Range

On Error Resume Next
Set userInputCell = Application.InputBox("Use the mouse to select a cell on any sheet", type:=8)
On Error Goto 0
If userInputCell Is Nothing Then
MsgBox "Cancel pressed"
Else
Msgbox "You selected " & userInputCell.Address(,,,True)
End If

The second code works just the way I want it but it doesnt copy over the text to the other workbook. I assume the 2 codes need to be together but I cant get it to work without errors. I also need the text to copy over without changing the borders on either workbook.

Modify Existing Macro To Copy To Different Workbook Instead Of Open Workbook?

Dec 7, 2012

Here's my macro:

Code:
Sub CopyRow()'
'Copies row to new sheet, highlights it, marks column 'A' as copied.
'
Dim cCell As Range
Set cCell = Selection.Cells(1, 1)
Selection.Copy
Sheets("Sheet2").Select
Rows("2:2").Select

[Code] .....

Is it possible to modify it to paste into a different workbook called c:filesDestination.xlsm, instead of the existing workbook (Source.xlsm)? The destination sheet name is the same (Sheet2). It's OK if both workbooks are open at the same time.

How To Hide Tabs And Make Them Appear After Specific User Input

Jul 10, 2014

I have nearly finished my project, but need to make the last real bit of code, then just some general tidying up.

What I want to do
- I currently have two tabs in a userform - one called 'main' and one called 'extra'.
- I want Main to always be shown to the user.
- I want Extra to be hidden (is it possible to make the tabs invisible?) and for this form to be shown only under a specific condition

I have a question on my userform (using Option Buttons):
"Did the customer ask about an extra product today?"

If the answer to this question is no - When the user hits the command button (after filling out the rest of the form), do nothing special - just return all the values to the worksheet

If the answer is yes - When the user hits the command button, I want them to be taken to the 'extra' tab. They will fill out some additional check-boxes, then hit another command box, which will return the info from both the 'main' and 'extra' sheets into the same row of the worksheet.

In brief: I want my 'extra' tab to be hidden, only to appear when 'yes' is selected, and for the results all to go back to the worksheet.

Copy Data From One Workbook To Updated Workbook Using Macro

May 1, 2012

I am creating a spreadsheet to provide to a group of about 40 people. The spreadsheet allows each member to track the referrals they receive and give. I need to plan on creating updates for the spreadsheet and want to make it so they can easily transfer their data to the most current version in the future. Here is a breakdown of the workbook:

Worksheets:
Members
Lists
Referrals Given
Referrals Received
Totals
Formulas

I need to copy the data that they have input from the following worksheets:
Referrals Given
Referrals Received

Here is a breakdown of the "Referrals Received" worksheet:
A1:V4 - Data that will not change and includes many named cells
A5:Nxxx - Dynamic Named Range where they input their data
O5:Vxxx - Contains formulas

I need to be able to copy
A5:Vxxxxx
from the old workbook to the new

Some side items to note:
There is VBA in the worksheet of
Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range)
and included in the code is an Unprotect & Protect code to always keep the sheet protected

I figure whatever works for this sheet will work for all the sheets.

Workbook With Several Tabs

Right now, I enter the data (alpha and numeric) into the main spreadsheet,

I can specify the "IF" part of the line item that would identify which sheet
to copy it to, but is it possible to have a "THEN copy and paste [these

I'd like the data to be copied into C19 (under Tasks Column) of the "Status Report" workbook.
