ThisWorkbook.Sheets("Details").Activate
MkDir ("C:UsersDennisDesktopPartnering Contractors LTD" & Range("B12").Value)

This is probably quite trivial but I really need to know how to call up the standard folder browser from my VBA macro in Excel (and obviously return the selected path to a variable). I'm running windows XP by the way

I have a program with a line that deletes a worksheet like so: Sheets(Output).Delete. Where "Output" is the name of the sheet (a string). This works fine, but everytime this line is excecuted excel pops up a message box "Data may exist is the sheet(s) selected for deletion. To permanently delete the data, press Delete." and I have to click delete. Is there anyway to stop this message being displayed?

I have the below code to iterate and copy/paste data.
Code:
Application.DisplayAlerts = False
Dim r As Range
Set r = ThisWorkbook.Sheets("POList").Range("A2:A150")
[Code]...
This works fine, but I always get a message saying:
"Data on the Clipboard is not the same size and shape as the selected area. Do you want to paste the data anyway?"
The method completes when I click OK, but I am having to do this hundreds of time as there are a lot of files to be created. Is there a way to stop this message?

I've just written a macro to copy large amount of data from one worksheet into another. It works well right now, except a little problem. Every time I run the macro, there is always a message box appeared. It let me to choose whether to save or delete data on the clipboard. And I usually choose 'no'. (The message box has been screenshotted and attached into this thread.) Because I use this macro very often, it really makes troubles to me. Is there anyway to block the message box. I mean let it never appear?

I have a macro which auto prints a series of workbooks and it works very well - except (there is always an except right?) some of the workbooks brink up a dialog box saying "this workbook contains links to other data sources" Update, Don't Update or Help"
how to prevent this box from appearing and interrupting the print flow? I want to be able to run this macro and wallk away while it merrily does its printing job - not sit at the monitor hitting No No No over and over (yes i do NOT want to update the workbook)
Public Sub Auto_Open()
Dim sCurFile As String
Dim sPath As String
Dim mpath As String
mpath = InputBox("Enter the month and year, i.e. 0207 for Feb 2007", "print")
fpath = InputBox("Enter day of the month to print (no leading 0's)?", "print")

I have some code to open up another workbook, take the data from sheet1 in it, copy it to a sheet in the first book, and then close the opened workbook. My problem is that whenever it closes the workbook it gives me the large amount of data on clipboard window that I must then click 'No' on before it will proceed. I thought that making CutCopyMode = False would fix that, but it hasnt worked. Heres the bit of code that does this:
CutCopyMode = False
Workbooks.Open Filename:= _
"G:InventoryInventory.xls"
Range("A1:M500").Select
Selection.Copy
Windows("Inventory Report.xls").Activate
Sheets("Vis-W").Select
Cells.Select
ActiveSheet.Paste
Range("A1").Select
Windows("Inventory.xls").Activate
CutCopyMode = False
ActiveWindow.Close
Sheets("Main").Select

I am looking for a more efficient way to write a macro (a sample from the macro is below). This is just the first part of the macro. I need to repeat these same steps (seen for row 5 below) for rows 5 to 50. My script worked until I hit row 35 and then I got the "compile error.." message. There must be a way to use "loop" to write this more efficiently, no?

The sub needs to do the following:
Needs to automatically check user-entered values in column F. If the value is greater than 0, it needs to multiply that value by -1. If the value is negative, or the cell is empty, it needs to do nothing.
I keep getting runtime errors about type mismatch.
Please look at my workbook and tell me where I'm going wrong.

I used the "Call" command instead of "Run." Everything finally worked perfect!!
Being new to VBA I do not know the reason behind the "Run" command being different and causing my problems. BUT "call" sure is the answer to my recent irritations.
After I got the darn things to finally work, I decided to do the responsible thing and use Option Explicit, which helped me clean up my code tremendously!!

I have a workbook that takes a long time to calculate. A lot of the values are interrelated and if there is an error in one of the primary formulas, it will propagate through the whole worksheet. It then takes a while to find the error and after I correct it, I then have to go through the whole calculation process again. Is there a way to have Excel stop calculation when it first finds an error?

The attached file contains hypothetical data on a basketball player's success from the free throw line. It lists the number of free throws attempted and the number made and then divides the number made by the number attempted to calculate the free throw percentage. However, I keep getting a # DIV/0! error in the games free throws weren't taken. How do I write the code so that when the error occurs, a message is displayed to the effect that no percentage can be reported because no free throws were attempted by checking the cell in column D? How do I use the IsError function to figure this out?

I've got the following code as part of a userform
Private Sub cmbPlant_Exit(ByVal Cancel As MSForms.ReturnBoolean)
If cmbPlant.MatchFound = False Then
cmbPlant.BackColor = &HC0&
If MsgBox("Required!" & vbNewLine & "Please Select Correct Plant Number", vbOKOnly + vbExclamation, "Plant Number") = vbCancel Then Exit Sub
Cancel = True
Else
cmbPlant.BackColor = &H80000005
End If
End Sub
I also have a cancel button
Private Sub cmdCancel_Click()
If MsgBox(" Cancelling Will Clear This Form." & vbNewLine & " No Data Will Be Entered." & vbNewLine & "Are You Sure You Wish To Cancel?", vbYesNo + vbQuestion, "Cancel Data Entry") = vbNo Then Exit Sub
Unload Me
End Sub
If someone clicks the cancel button before using the plant # combo, the form closes, but the cmbplant_exit msgbox pops up too.

I have wrote a simple macro/ function that used to work before I decided to improve it. When I run the macro, I can step F8 until the before last line in the following code
Function bla() As Boolean
Set rCell = Cells(1, 1)
If rCell.Value <> "" Then
x = rCell.Value * 0.02 'Works
rCell.Value = rCell.Value - x 'Doesn't work
End If
bla = False
End Function
Excel does stop running the macro, but it doesn't show any error so I don't know what to fix.
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Create new Excel document
2. Type any number in the very first cell
3. Open VBA, add module and copy above function
4. Type in another cell "=bla()"

For some reason my form won't open when the workbook is opened. I get an error message "run time error '424' object required" (which happens when I have Form1.show in the BOTH workbook_open event and the userform_initialize event (oops)). When I removed form1.show from the userform_initialize I don't get an error but I also get no form. I recall having this issue before but I can't recall how to fix it.
Can I call the userform_initialize event from the workbook open event to get around this successfully and properly?

I do hit the SCE (Shift-CTRL-Enter) keys. The formula does work in one workbook, but not the other. The only difference between the two workbooks is this formula has a larger range.
New Formula- doesn't work (ERROR- #DIV/0!)
{=AVERAGE(IF(Sheet1!A3:A1094="MONDAY",Sheet1!E3:E1094))}
Old Formula- works
{=AVERAGE(IF(B6:B451="MONDAY",E6:E451))}

I get spreadsheets sent to me with hours and minutes in decimal format. Frequently a quarter of an hour or three quarters of an hour are posted as 0.15 or 0.45 instead of 0.25 and 0.75. Other odd fractions can also appear.
I want an error message if the value when divisible by 0.25 is not a whole number.
