Stop Update Message When Printing From Macro

Feb 4, 2007

I have a macro which auto prints a series of workbooks and it works very well - except (there is always an except right?) some of the workbooks brink up a dialog box saying "this workbook contains links to other data sources" Update, Don't Update or Help"

how to prevent this box from appearing and interrupting the print flow? I want to be able to run this macro and wallk away while it merrily does its printing job - not sit at the monitor hitting No No No over and over (yes i do NOT want to update the workbook)

Public Sub Auto_Open()
Dim sCurFile As String
Dim sPath As String
Dim mpath As String

mpath = InputBox("Enter the month and year, i.e. 0207 for Feb 2007", "print")

fpath = InputBox("Enter day of the month to print (no leading 0's)?", "print")

Stop Update / Don't Update Requestor Message

Oct 27, 2008

I have some VB code which sequentially opens over 200 workbooks to extract data from each and populate another workbook. These workbooks do have links to other workbooks in them.
For some reason when some of these workbooks are opened I get a requestor window asking whether I want to Update or Don't Update the data. I always want to Update the workbook and believe this can be done in VB by hiding the requestor?

Stop Macro Button From Printing

Jan 27, 2008

I made six macros, then I inserted a row at "A1" and created a box icon for each and assigned the macros. I went to the properties and told them not to print. Now I set my print range from "A3: J10" and they still print and show up in the print preview also.

Trying To Stop Invisible Cells From Printing

Aug 16, 2006

I have a sheet set up with invisible values in certain cells. To make them invisible, I have coloured the font the same as the backround. The colour used is a light shade of yellow, colour index 36 I think.

Unfortunately, even though the values in these cells are invisble on the screen, they are visible when the sheet is printed. Is there any way to stop these cells from being printed? Note that they are scattered all around the place.

Stop Blank Rows Printing

Dec 1, 2006

I tried to reduce the size of the printing area by deleting the blank rows. To achieve this I entered VBA code that appeared in the newsletter issue 3 after slightly modifying the code suiting to my need. But, while exeucting the code with all the parameters, xlCellTypeBlanks, xlCellTypeFormulas,xlErrors, the error as shown as a screen shot herein is populated. But, with the parameter,""xlCellTypeBlanks"" all the Blank Rows only got deleted and similarly only those rows containing Formulas are deleted, while the parameter is""xlCellTypeFormulas".

I want all the cells that contain xlFormulas, xlErrors and xlCellTypeBlanks as well be removed while executing the code given herein. But, if the range contains "xlFormulas" and "xlCell TypeBlanks", the rows containing blank cells are not removed and vice versa.

Every time I run the macro, there is always a message box appeared. It let me to choose whether to save or delete data on the clipboard. And I usually choose 'no'. (The message box has been screenshotted and attached into this thread.) Because I use this macro very often, it really makes troubles to me. Is there anyway to block the message box. Stop Large Amount Of Data On Clipboard Message

Sep 12, 2007

I have some code to open up another workbook, take the data from sheet1 in it, copy it to a sheet in the first book, and then close the opened workbook. My problem is that whenever it closes the workbook it gives me the large amount of data on clipboard window that I must then click 'No' on before it will proceed. I thought that making CutCopyMode = False would fix that, but it hasnt worked. Heres the bit of code that does this:

CutCopyMode = False
Workbooks.Open Filename:= _
"G:InventoryInventory.xls"
Range("A1:M500").Select
Selection.Copy
Windows("Inventory Report.xls").Activate
Sheets("Vis-W").Select
Cells.Select
ActiveSheet.Paste
Range("A1").Select
Windows("Inventory.xls").Activate
CutCopyMode = False
ActiveWindow.Close
Sheets("Main").Select

Show (copy) Data At X Time And Stop Update?

Sep 2, 2012

I have two sheets. In the first sheet, I have cell F4 is 00:00:00 (countdown). G9, G10 and G11 are cells that receive data (decimal numbers) live. In the second sheet, I have three cells linked from shhet1 G9 ='Sheet1'!G9, G10 ='Sheet1'!G10, G11 ='Sheet1'!G11 (which update themselve when data is modified in the first sheet). Now I want to set in sheet 2, (assume) cells B9, B10 and B11 to show me (copy) the values from G9, G10 and G11 from sheet 1 when the countdown was 00:00:05 (5 seconds before Start) and not update again if the data changes in the cell it pulled the data from.

Like G9 ='Sheet1'!G9 at 00:00:05 and stop here, do not update anything. OK?

I can do a part, but the real problem is: I can not make it stop cells to update.Stand frozen, freeze, not move, calm .. however. I do not want to seem pretentious (but my knowledge in excel are limited), the most appropriate would be a formula, not macro or VBA, if possible..

Printing Multiple Workbooks With Printing Preference As Landscape

Reason is simple as I work in a office where staff is handed in several jobs to do everyday. They finish the jobs and log all the info on the database. I log on to database and put all their daily diaries and because it is all over the place I have to go in each file and set printing preferences which takes an hour in the morning and hour in the evening. I could do with some sort of automation where all diaries are automatically printed in Landscape and Fit on one page.

Printing / Not Printing Ranges Based On Cell Contents

I have a report that is generated from a manufacturing process that looks like the example below. the report is 40 pages long when all the data is printed. i am looking for a way to only print this range if a dimension is "out of tolerance". if the dimension is within tolerance, there is always the "garbage" text of plus and minus. if every row is "within tolerance" in the range the cells in the OutTol column would all contain the "garbage" text but it will not always be identical. so, in summary, actual OutTol values = print and all "garbage" = not printed.

Printing Macro ...

I have a workbook that has a print button on it. The print button macro prints many tabs on the workbook. But, on ONE of the tabs, it inserts information from a range of cells, prints, goes to the next cell in that range and prints, until complete.

The problem I'm having is this: When there is only ONE cell in that range that has information in it, it gets stuck in a continuous loop and prints a ton of blank pages.

Here's my code for this portion of the macro:
