Stop Data On Clipboard Message

Nov 23, 2006

I've just written a macro to copy large amount of data from one worksheet into another. It works well right now, except a little problem. Every time I run the macro, there is always a message box appeared. It let me to choose whether to save or delete data on the clipboard. And I usually choose 'no'. (The message box has been screenshotted and attached into this thread.) Because I use this macro very often, it really makes troubles to me. Is there anyway to block the message box. I mean let it never appear?

Stop Large Amount Of Data On Clipboard Message

Sep 12, 2007

I have some code to open up another workbook, take the data from sheet1 in it, copy it to a sheet in the first book, and then close the opened workbook. My problem is that whenever it closes the workbook it gives me the large amount of data on clipboard window that I must then click 'No' on before it will proceed. I thought that making CutCopyMode = False would fix that, but it hasnt worked. Heres the bit of code that does this:

CutCopyMode = False
Workbooks.Open Filename:= _
"G:InventoryInventory.xls"
Range("A1:M500").Select
Selection.Copy
Windows("Inventory Report.xls").Activate
Sheets("Vis-W").Select
Cells.Select
ActiveSheet.Paste
Range("A1").Select
Windows("Inventory.xls").Activate
CutCopyMode = False
ActiveWindow.Close
Sheets("Main").Select

Stop VB From Clearing Clipboard

Apr 6, 2010

I have a file with Workbook Activate/Deactivate and Worksheet Activate/Deactivate commands in it. When someone is trying to copy information from or to this workbook the VB automatically clears the clipboard (or at least that's how I understand it), which makes it so they can't paste that data anywhere else. How can I prevent this, but still keep my current commands?

Close Workbook Without Clipboard Message

Oct 17, 2007

When processing workbooks via VBA, on closing the workbook I sometimes get a request to respond to whether I want to save the clipboard. In the same way that there is the option to open a workbook without refreshing links: workbooks.open updatelinks:=False

I assume there is something on the order of: workbook.close DontSaveClipboard:=True

Question #1 is: What is the parameter syntax for saving or not saving the clipboard?

Question #2 is: Where would I go to look up these parameter settings instead of having to come back to the group every time I find the next one I need?

This works fine, but I always get a message saying:

The method completes when I click OK, but I am having to do this hundreds of time as there are a lot of files to be created. Is there a way to stop this message?

Stop Update Message When Printing From Macro

Feb 4, 2007

I have a macro which auto prints a series of workbooks and it works very well - except (there is always an except right?) some of the workbooks brink up a dialog box saying "this workbook contains links to other data sources" Update, Don't Update or Help"

how to prevent this box from appearing and interrupting the print flow? I want to be able to run this macro and wallk away while it merrily does its printing job - not sit at the monitor hitting No No No over and over (yes i do NOT want to update the workbook)

Public Sub Auto_Open()
Dim sCurFile As String
Dim sPath As String
Dim mpath As String

mpath = InputBox("Enter the month and year, i.e. 0207 for Feb 2007", "print")

Macro For Pasting CSV Data From Clipboard?

Jul 17, 2014

I'm trying to implement a very simple macro to paste a set of cells - already copied to the clipboard from a CSV file - into a worksheet.

Basically, all I need it to do is to allow the user to open that other CSV file, hit CTRL+A and CTRL+C, then go to the relevant sheet in my workbook and run the macro, which should simply paste the copied data into that sheet (starting at cell A30).

Here's what I have so far - I keep getting an error when the macro reaches the ActiveSheet.Paste command.

VB:
Sub UpdateData()

' UpdateData Macro

Prevent Loss Of Copied Data On Clipboard

Sep 26, 2007

Using a macro I want to paste from the clip board.
I can manually do this by opening the clipboard, selecting the data, which pastes to my specified location.

The macro copies to the clipboard okay, but loses the data that I want to paste because just before pasting I have to clear data which was previously been filtered - I have to do this at this point. The macro bogs down. If I end the macro there, I can manually open the clip board and choose the data I copied from there and paste it that way. I'd like the macro to do this for me.

VBA - Syntax Delete Data From Clipboard Before Closing A File

Feb 22, 2008

I recorded a Macro to open a workbook, copy and paste data from one excel workbook to another, and close the workbook which was opened. Everything works fine except:

because of the amount of data that I am copying, I get a message box saying "There is a large amount of information on the Clipboard. Do you want to be able to paste this information into another prgoram later?" with a Yes/No button.

So now I have to click the "No" button before my macro closes the excel file. Is there a simple line of code that will by-pass this?

I am assuming it has to do with the following:

Windows("Book1.xls").Activate
ActiveWindow.Close , savechanges:=False

VBA To Copy Selected Cells To Clipboard With Text Data

Feb 12, 2008

Need aid in copying certain cells with text/labels to clipboard to format a body of email to be sent via Yahoo webmail, so I can paste it where needed.

I did a couple of Excel VBA's back in 2000 or so at last job but haven't seen/used VBA since.

Have a spreadsheet with customer data, (one cust per row) and wish to create something like the following in clipboard (in this example, assuming row 2 is the selected row)...I'll only be sending out one or two of these per day so nothing fancy is needed, just a way to avoid retyping critical data that could get mistyped.

--------------------
A8

Rental details for 2008

Customer Name : A2
Unit nbr : A3
Nbr of weeks : A4
Balance due : A5
--------------------

I'm using Office 2000 still...I've done some searching but results found seem to complicated for my situation or not quite close enough for me to see how to apply it.

Data Validation: How Can I Stop The User From Moving On?

Apr 3, 2009

I have attached a sheet that I'm having an issue with. Columns D and E on the Dim Calculator sheet have a data validation formula in the cell. It works in the sense that it pops up if they are outside the parameters that I want them to hit. However, if the user clicks the Cancel button they can just keep going on even though the entry in the cell is aganist the validation.

Example: Columns D and E cannot be larger than Column C. Currently now if Columns D or E are larger than Column C the validation error pops up. But I can just click on cancel and keep going. That is what I want to prevent.

Is there a way to grey out the cancel button?

Should I do something else within the validation itself?

Colo HTML does not seen to work in the visual basic window so I cannot show you the page.

Show (copy) Data At X Time And Stop Update?

Sep 2, 2012

I have two sheets. In the first sheet, I have cell F4 is 00:00:00 (countdown). G9, G10 and G11 are cells that receive data (decimal numbers) live. In the second sheet, I have three cells linked from shhet1 G9 ='Sheet1'!G9, G10 ='Sheet1'!G10, G11 ='Sheet1'!G11 (which update themselve when data is modified in the first sheet). Now I want to set in sheet 2, (assume) cells B9, B10 and B11 to show me (copy) the values from G9, G10 and G11 from sheet 1 when the countdown was 00:00:05 (5 seconds before Start) and not update again if the data changes in the cell it pulled the data from.

Like G9 ='Sheet1'!G9 at 00:00:05 and stop here, do not update anything. OK?

I can do a part, but the real problem is: I can not make it stop cells to update.Stand frozen, freeze, not move, calm .. however. I do not want to seem pretentious (but my knowledge in excel are limited), the most appropriate would be a formula, not macro or VBA, if possible..

How Can I Stop The Chart Data Range From Updating When I Add & Delete A Row

The data is continually updated but stays at 300 rows. I add a new row at 301 and then I delete row 1.

I set the graphs up with a Chart Data Range of =GData!$B$1:$AB$300

As I add and delete rows the Chart Data Range reduces so after adding and deleting 3 rows the Chart Data Range is now =GData!$B$1:$AB$297

How can I get the Chart Data Range to stay at =GData!$B$1:$AB$300?
