Spread Revenue Equally Over 6 Or 12 Months Depending On Which Product Is Sold
Jul 15, 2014We have 5 - six month programs and five - 12 month programs we are going to sell; each have a different price. I Want to insert number of projected sales manually for each month and then have excel distribute/spread revenue evenly over six or twelve months into a separate set of cells. First payment would be received at time of sale.

Count Frequency Of Continuous Occurrence Of Text Value In Range Of Values
Dec 9, 2013In an employee attendance file I am trying to count the number of times an employee has taken 3 or more days of leave together (continuously) in a month. My attendance file looks something like this

In the example above E001 has taken 3 continuous days leave twice so formula should return 2, for E002 & E003 the answer would be 1 each.
Formula To Count Highest Number Of Continuous Cells With Data In A Range And Their Sum
Apr 1, 2009I have a range of 30 cells in a row. From that row there are groups of cells that have data that might be 1-7 cells populated in a row and in between these groups are blank cells in the row. I need to see what is the highest number of cells in a continuous row that contain data, what the mode is for continuous cell counts, and what is the average value for the data from the continuous cells. The average is a nice to have but not entirely necessary as most cell data will be fairly similar and I can get a close enough average just by knowing the average number of cells that contain data in a row. I have to do this calculation for about 1000 rows of individual data so its important a formula fit in one row.
Almost need a count function to count starting with each cell and then stopping at the first no no value it finds. Then it would show those counts and I could run a formula to pick the highest count and also show the mode of counts.
I will let the experts at it!, my weak mind could not think this one through. I thought something to do with MATCH for a while but no go from what I could do.
Excel 2010 :: Count Max Time Frames Overlapping On Continuous Days
Aug 1, 2013I'm having trouble defining the time overlaps on continuous days for the varying results of the runs for my simulation.
For the following data set, without counting overlaps there are 18 total spare requirements, but if I take into account their overlaps in their duration there should be a total of 11 per day. For example in row 4 this event overlapped in the same day with the event of row 5 so both had only 2 overlaps as a result (So there is not possible to be 1 as an answer for overlap, there is only from 2 to "n" amount or 0).
But if an event overlaps with more than one in their duration the result would be their maximum overlap during this time frame.
So then I have for each event an Starting date, starting time, duration, ending date and ending duration.And for each day I would need the total amount of overlaps occurred for the duration of each event and from those I would take their maximum amount of overlaps occurred per day. To obtain their real requirement as shown on the file.
The manual procedure I'm using looks like this for the first day: (Graphical representation)
Event 1 occurs from 17:02 to 20:29 and only overlaps with Event 3, so it's 2
Event 2 occurs from 20:38 to 23:38, also only overlaps with Event 3, then its also a 2
For Event 3 in its whole duration only overlapped with Even 1 and Event 2, one at a time so its maximum overlaps where only 2.
And that's what I'm using so far to determine these amounts but since is a simulation, I would end up with several data from each run and this method would be too long. That's why I would need this template to paste data for each run (15 days) and obtain my results faster.

Sep 26, 2013I have a spreadsheet that I am using for capacity planning. We want to automatically figure out which months have 4 weeks and which months have 5 weeks.
The weeks in a month are defined by work week (Mon to Fri), and if the work week has 3 or more days, it is considered a week of that month, if it has two or less days, it is not counted as a week during that month (it will be counted part of the following month).
ie: April 2014 would be a 5 week month, May 2014 would be a 4 week month and June would be a 4 week month.

Mar 11, 2014I am trying to calculate the average headcount for different categories (over a certain period of time, by product, by job type etc) and I want to do it using a formula instead of a pivot table.
I have this set of data with a detailed headcount for every month. And I can find out the total HC for different categories using sumif/sumifs but if want to find out the average for a certain period, I need to split that total to the number of months where I have a HC.
For example, if the HC per month would be:
May 2013 - 12
June 2013 - 10
July 2013 - none
August - 5
in a 4 months period I would have a total HC of 27 and the average would be 9 (27/3 - July shouldn't be counted). How can I get the average in a single formula?

Oct 12, 2009I'm scrambling my head to put this together. Could somebody show me how this is done?
I have two rows of data that contains dates in the mmm-yy format. The first row is the start date of the activity and the second row is the end date of the activity. Thus, in each column i would have an activity with its start and end dates. If i want to total the number of months taking into consideration only unique months (counting over-lapping months just once), how do i do that? These dates could have breaks in between, too. Like if an activity ended Jul-08, the next could begin Dec-08.
I am able to count the months using the datedif function, is there a match or other function that i need to use?

Mar 24, 2009I have a spreadsheet that each month, we populate a new row of data. The rows are already set up in the spreadsheet, but we just populate the new row.
We are calculating a rolling 12 month total. Each month, we have to modify the formula below to pick up the last 12 months.
For example, next month we will populate data into cell M91, then we need to manually modify our formula to read M80:M91. Wondering if there is a way to have the formula below to look at a range, such as M100:M1, and count the last 12 months? This would eliminate us having to change this each month on several spreadsheets.
In Summary: I would like to replace the M79:M90 to count the last 12 months instead of changing the formula each month.

Jun 11, 2009I have a 7000 row spreadsheet of items sold over the past 6 months. I sorted them by their SKU, but some of them sold in multiple qty in a given day.
What is a formula to calculate the total qty of each SKU sold?
Example:
Column A = SKU 001
Column B = Qty Sold in a particular purchase (most have 1, but some are 2 or 3 or 4, etc.)
Column C, (Row 10) = Total where I would like to come up with a number for columns 1-10 (for example).

Apr 6, 2008A worksheet called "purchases" contains the list of shares purchased during the period 1.4.5 to 31.3.8. It has four columns :
1. Date
2. Name of the share (name is repeated for every new purchase as it is entered in a new row and is totally independent of the earlier entry of purchase)
3. Qty
4. Sale price
Likewise there is a sheet for sales also. I want to do the following:
a) Find out all the records showing purchases of a particular share and add them up (both quantity and value). And thus, make a list of shares showing aggregate purchase of each share during the entire year. Likewise, I want to do this for sales also.
b) For every share that has been sold within one year after its purchase, apply 20% tax on the profit earned on sale of such share.
Additional information: If 100 shares of A Ltd are purchased on 1.4.5 and 200 shares on 1.5.5 then during the sale of 150 shares of A Ltd on 2.4.6, 100 shares purchased on 1.4.5 and 50 shares purchased on 1.5.5 shall be deemed to have been sold.
