I have an excel file having part code,name,vendor and Qty ( Quantity ).
My problem is that I want to apply an excel formula to pick up that vendor code who have highest Qty of a part code.The condition is that S.No.should not be disturbed.This file is so large,but here I have taken an example,
I'm creating a worksheet that gives a list of part numbers based on the product part code. In most cases I can use the following.
=LOOKUP(O6,{0,1,2,3,4},{"NONE (M25)","SMP-55-001","SMP-55-004","SMP-55-008","SMP-55-014"})
so this gives a part number depending on what number is placed in O6. What I need to do know is look at 2 different cells and for each combination of numbers give a different part number. so if A1 is 2 and B1 is 3 give a certain result.
I understand that we can protect the VBA coding through check the "Lock project from viewing in the Tools>VBAProject Properties. However I'll still need to open some of the code for other users to customize the program while some of the important code are protected.

i have an excel sheet where i enter company information including Zip code. the zip codes around here all start with 797 and end with numbers from 01 to 12
i am looking for a way to enter just the last 2 numbers and have it automatically insert the full zip
example:
line one i would enter 01 and 79701 would show up in the box.
I know there are ways to do this, just can't remember its been so long since I've had to use excel.
I can only export vendor codes from the General Ledger rather than vendor names. If possible, I would like for excel to recognize the vendor code and assign the appropriate name. For example, HCC stands for Human Capital Consulting. The GL includes the vendor code and the voucher number. If I export the vendor code HCC/V0007 from the accounting system to cell A2 in excel, I would like for excel to pick up everything before the / (in this case HCC) and enter Human Capital Consulting in cell B2. I have a vendor list in excel that matches vendor code with vendor. I just need for cell B2 to pick up the vendor code from the list.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have 2 sheets in a file. One is given to me from our parts department containing all parts on a given truck model. The 2nd sheet is exported as a database file from inventor and imported as an update able sheet in excel.
I am needed to compare part numbers between the 2 sheets and the qty of each. So far I have it where it matches the part numbers and turns the ones I don't have in the model red. Now I'm trying to match the part numbers and pull the qty of said part from sheet 2, the imported one, and compare it to the to the qty in the 1st. All I really need to accomplish is matching the part numbers then copying the qty from sheet 2 to sheet 1 onto a new cell of the matched part number.
I am having a problem with this script below. I think it is in the way the worksheet is picked. Can someone take a look and offer some advice on how to pick between the 2 sheets? I'm getting an error on this line in red below( object doesnt support this property or method)

The names in Column B and Column G are the same ones, but not in the same order, and they do not repeat exactly the same (e.g. I can have "Peter" in A10 and "Peter Jr." in A62, but not "Peter" and "Peter" again.
Each code belongs only to one name and never appears twice.
In K I want a formula that does the following:
K1: if the name in G1 is found anywhere in Column A, then bring the code that belongs to that name in G1.
(E.g.: If I have "Peter" in G1, and then "Peter" is found in B16 with the code "100" in A16, I want the code "100" of the A16, to come to K1).
I receive hundreds of part numbers to quote daily. I send out RFQ's to my suppliers and they respond with pricing. I gather all the data into a similar excel sheet below and assign the wining supplier.

I want a macro fill the value which is on the upper cell.
eg:If A1= Code and A2 is blank, A2 should be filled with A1 value which is 'Code'.

Is there any way to remove the first part of a string of text in a cell and save the second part?
The first part of the text string is a team code that has a variable number of numbers, capital letters and sometimes spaces. The second part of the text string is a variable number of words in a team name that all start with a capital letter and have lower case letters. Every line has a different team code and team name.
The original spreadsheet also has a column with just team code. Is there a way of using this column to "subtract" the team code from the text string to just leave the team name?
I am dealing with several very large spreadsheets using VBA to do various things. I found that my code worked well, but was taking a long time to run. The biggest time consumer was my use of the AutoFilter features. I have since turned calculations to manual before my code runs and set it back to auto when my code is done running. What are the potential consequences of my turning calculations to manual and then back to auto?

The one thing that I have noticed about this website is the Privacy Report icon in the lower right status window (Picture of an eye with a restricted symbol in front). I don't know whether this is the cause of my problem, or purely an incidental observation.
Is there something peculiar with Google sites that means that the source code cannot be extracted in general, or is this an issue specific to my site ? Does the Privacy Report icon have any relevance, and if so how do I switch that off ?

My company has files that are already in use. I don't know too many details about how they work, but somehow saving the file will screw it up and my boss has to go back and reset something or other to correct it. Obviously it's connected to some other software somewhere. The code below will block Save and Save-As. BUT how do I get the file to hold onto the code without actually saving the file after the code is added (since the file shouldn't be saved)?

I'm trying to write a VBA script which will delete all rows in my Excel spreadsheet where Column I (which contains a status code) does not contain the word "Completed".
At the moment, I'm doing this the other way round: my script is able to search for entries in Column I which contain the status codes "Pending", "Awaiting Authorisation", "In Progress" etc and delete them. The idea is that when all those rows are deleted, I'll only be left with rows which have a status of "Completed". This works fine at the moment. However, the concern is that if a brand new status code is added to the data file, my script would be unable to pick it up and delete it. This is a small sample of the code I'm currently using (which deletes all the rows with statuses other than Completed):

I have a spreadsheet with 2 worksheets. On the first "active parts" I have a list of active part numbers and on the second "All Parts" I have all of the parts available.
I want to compare every part in the All Parts worksheet to see if the part number exists on the Active Parts sheet - if it's there, I would like it to return the value "Active" in column B in All Parts. I have a formula in column B in All Parts that seems to work for the first few, but as soon as it finds one that is active, the rest of the cells below all return "Active".
