By tallying, I mean placing a small vertical line on the paper, then after 4 vertical lines, I place a diagonal line across the four. At the end of the month, I add all these up. I would like to make a spreadsheet to replace the tallying, but am not sure how to do it. Is this possible? I am beginner to intermediate with Excel and use 2003, but can switch to 2007.

Trouble is both graph already utilise the secondary axis. VBA is allowed.

But if the two point is located at the same horizontal line.

I have code that works well to insert a blank row. I need to remove all vertical lines each time it adds a row. You can see I commented out the line I tried.

I am trying to add a vertical line dynamically to a chart. What I mean is I have a chart that will have a line type chart on it and I want to add a vertical line to it based on the output of one cell in that same workbook. I am making this workbook for use by end-users so I can't ask the end-users to make a bunch of modifications to the sheet or or chart. What I do has to just work when they use the workbook.
The line chart has an X axis of time and a Y axis of items sorted. (This is the part of the chart I have done already.) I want to add a vertical line fed from a cell which will have a time fed from a cell on the workbook. For example the line chart goes from 9:00 to 16:00 and the vertical line might be at 13:00. The cell feeding the vertical line is subject to change based on the other inputs on the workbook so that's why I say the vertical line has to be dynamic as the vertical line could be anywhere between 9:00 to 16:00 or it might even be that I can't place the vertical line because the feeding cell is outside the range of 9:00 to 16:00.
I have seen a number of ways to do this but none that are dynamic and automatic and don't require end user to adjust the workbook to make the vertical line at the correct on the time scale.
A have a worksheet in excel which was copied from pdf.
in each cell number of different lines, the data appears on a new lines. the same as using the new line character. (ALT + ENTER)
The document is huge. well over 3000 individual cells, and generally 4 or 5 lines in each one. Is there anyway i can globally change the whole documents. Just deleteling all the new lines??
Using excel 2007 on windows xp..
In column CT between rows 11:210 is the vertical data that includes duplicates. I am looking to create a formula that can lookup each value between CT11:CT210 and return only the unique values horizontally starting in cell CW9 and onwards.
Example: CT11:CT14 looks like
5x20
6x4
5x20
5x8
and so on and so forth..
I would then like this formula to return the above data (which goes all the way to CT210) in this format starting in cell CW9 - 5x20 then CX9 - 6x4 and finally CY9 - 5x8.
I have 2 sheets in a work book. Sheet 1 I paste information from an email into A4.
Sheet 2 gathers the information and places it in the cell formating the text so I can import it properly to another program.
I want to take notes that a person fills in (they fill out an online form with their personal information and sometimes leave comments, but not always) and paste this into Sheet 1. When importing text from a CSV, the 'line returns' appear in a cell as a small square with faded left and right sides. The do force a line break as intended. However, they are a nuisance in reading and printing.
When I use ALT+ENTER to force a line break, there is no visible character (on screen or printed) for the line break, which is as it should be.
How can I replace this 'special character' line break with one not visible?
1) In any cell, I would like to remove "Area#xxxxxxxxx" (where x are random numbers).

I am trying to remove the last 6 character from a variable. I worked out how to do it using formula's in XL, but want to move this in to VBA. Currently I have this

I want to change the character ~ with . in order to be able to make them numeric values to be feeded to other functions. But REPLACE seems not doing the job so I've been checking out other options such as seperating after and before the character ~. Details are below.
