I need a formula that will replace a dollar amount with an X. In other words...I have 10,000 cels and half of them have dollar amounts in them...I would like to replace them with the letter X without having to manually do it...

Reference Cell & Add Amount If Positive & Subtract Amount If Negative
Im trying to set up an active running inventory sheet where: (A)the progressive daily sheet cells reference back to the corresponding master sheet cells fluctuating the master values, (B) the same progressive daily sheet cells reference back to a cummulative totals-cell based on whether I added or subtracted inventory. I want to make a copy of the blank "sheet 2" with all of the formulas and move it to the end of the workbook each day and enter new values which will reference back to the master sheet so that I can click on a date sheet and see an individual day's values or click on the master sheet to see the fluctuating inventory on-hand and the cummulative +/- totals of all days combined. I've got a couple hundred individual cells to reference. I've tried and tried but I can't make it work. Heres what I need to do: I need to reference individual cells from "sheet 2,3,etc" back to a corresponding cell in a master sheet. But I need the values in each cell in "sheet 2,3,ETC" to increase or decrease the corresponding cell values in the master sheet. For example: If the value in the master sheet B5 is 200. Then in sheet 2, I enter +50 in B5, I need the master sheet cell B5 to increase by 50 to 250. I also need a way to decrease the cell value in the master sheet B5 if I enter a negative value -50 in sheet 2 B5. I also want to know if I can reference the same cell values entered in "sheet 2,3,etc cell B5" back to totals columns C5 for adding inventory or D5 for subtracting inventory in the master sheet where the master totals columns would reflect cummulative totals added or subtracted. For example: if the value in sheet 2 B5 is +50, then the value in Master sheet C5 would add 50 to a progressive total. But if the value in sheet 2 B5 is -50 then the value in master sheet D5 would add -50 to a progressive total.

Replacing A#:G# To B#:H#
I have set up a forecasting module for my company, which I update on a weekly basis. Basically, I centered my forecast on an 8 week average. Using all of the various equations in a regression, the 8 week series of data is used close to 500,000 times for each week’s forecast. What I am trying to do is move the 8 week series (A#:G#) and change it to the next set of cells (B#:H#) without having to do it using a filter and change all of the various instances of the occurrence. Because of the nature of the forecast, I will be "rolling" it forward every week, so to be able to do this all at once each week would save me a bunch of time. I tried using the Find/Replace fn by having it use the * symbol in place of the #...and this worked when I had it Find the data, but when I tried to use it to Replace the data, it reported an error?

Replacing Number With Name
I would like to set up a worksheet where once an ID number is scanned, the next cell over is populated with that person's name. (i.e. Johnny scans his ID 234567 and in the next cell, "Johnny Smith" is filled in. I have a worksheet with the ID numbers in one column and names in another, I just don't know how to get a second worksheet with a formula that will allow me to do that.

Replacing/Moving Within A Cell
OS=XP Pro XL=2003 SP3 I need to move data within a cell. Is there a formula that can accomplish this? Here is an example of what I'm trying to do.. Column A / TN14YP244f / TN15YP245j / TN16YP246h What it would need to do is take the last character in each cell and move it to replace the P in that cell. It should also capitalize the letter. ie: / TN14YP244f would become / TN14YF244 The letters at the end of the cell are always different, however the letter they replace is always the same (P).

Replacing Shapes With VBA
I am a not too good programmer, but I construct chemotherapy regimens for my medical department. They are used to minimise the risk of wrong dosing to patients, etc. Every regimen is an .xlt file, and about a third of them (there are about 100) generate, in addition to pharmaceutical prescription, automatic letters to patients (for those regimens where patients administer oral dosing at home). These patient-letters have the hospital's logo on them (the logo is a "shape"). However, the problem is that another hospital also wants to use my system. So I will have to replace all these logos with the other hospital's. I would like to do this in an automated way. I have received the other hospital's logo also as a shape. I have already constructed a data-inserting macro in a separate file. This macro systematically opens each xlt file and replaces the text in key locations according to the file the macro is in (geographical names, etc.). Is it possible to automatically replace the logo-shapes in a similar way, with these additional facts/wishes in mind: 1. There is always only one type of shape (a logo) in the xlt files. 2. Even though the shapes are exactly the same, it is possible the names are different. 3. The exact location for the shape is different in each xlt file, so I'd like the replacement to get the same top left coordinate as the one it replaces. I have constructed 2 different files with the same data-inserting macro, each containing one of the logos (so I can change back to my own hospital) and geographic data. When the data-inserting macro is used, I'd like it to identify the shape in the data-inserting file (there's only one shape in this file), copy it, then identify the shape(s) in the present xlt file, and then replace these, in the exact same location.

i got a a sheet with over 10000 entries, problem is that it has been compiled by many people, each which has his or her own way of entering the data. Here is the problem i have a field in which they can enter a coordinate X,Y and a corresponding area. the sytaks is Area XXYY so it should look like this P20522. Where P2 is the Area and X=05 and Y=22. most of the entries has the area in a different field and is written X5,Y22 but some is done correct some without the comma, further more i need to add the 0 in fron if it is a number below 10.

Replacing Short Strings
I have a long list of locations in an excel spreadsheet, stating either the country (eg India) or for US locations the state (in a two letter format, eg NY). I need to change all the state location to say "USA". How can I do this, without doing 50 find and replaces? Replacing Worksheet;with Variable Name
I'm replacing a specific sheet on a workbook with another one, but I want the users to be able to browse to a file, replace the sheet with the new one and re-establish the links on the replaced sheet with the target workbook. This macro is running out of the workbook that supplies the replacement sheet. The idea is that the user opens this workbook, runs the macro, browses to the file they need to fix and hey presto! I've got a lovely little spreadsheet which looks like a more complicated version of this: CaseResult1Pass2Fail3N/A4Pass (mark-ups)5Pass I have conditional formatting on each cell of column A (titled Case) which looks at the next door cell in column B (titled Result), and if it turns out Pass, it colours the cell in A green. If it's fail, it colours the cell red, and so on. I can colour it in the same colour as other conditions, using the OR function, but I'd rather have it a separate colour. Replacing The Cell Right Click Menu
Right click menus are a well known topic but I am struggling to find information on what I want to do with them. I have seen it done so I know its possible. What I want to do is completely replace the right click menu with my own custom one on a worksheet. I do NOT want to add things to the existing right click menu I want to effectivly disable the existing one and put on my very own one in its place. I have looked at the code for adding a menu to a textbox etc which seems sound but I can't trigger it with an event. I don't have any code to show Im afraid as I am just playing with other people at the moment trying to get it to work.

Matching Cells And Replacing Data
We have a report with 2 different sheets. On sheet one there are 13,000 rows of data and columns A-H are filled with different data. column A is our item id and column G has a date that states when the item was sold last. Well, the date in column G is wrong for about 7800 rows and needs changed. The second sheet in the file is the 7800 rows with just the item id in column A and the correct date in column B. We are looking for an easy way to replace the rows in the first sheet with the correct information from the rows in the second sheet without manually replacing it line by line. I almost forgot to add in, that in both sheets, column A with the item ids are the same item ids on both those sheets. So column A on sheet one has 13000 rows and included in those 13000 are the 7800 item ids on sheet 2. We tried using the VLookup function that is incorporated into excel but had absolutly no luck, mostly because we have never used this function before. Sheet one already has all the lines of sheet 2, its just that sheet one has the wrong dates for the item ids and sheet 2 has the correct dates. im trying to replace the dates on sheet one from the dates on sheet 2 matching on the item ids from both sheets......

Matching Rows And Replacing Numbers Associated With Them
I have 4 Columns. Column A has a master list of inventory numbers(about 3000 of them). Column B has dollar figures associated with them. Column C has some inventory numbers in it(800 of them), all of which are also in the master list in Column A. Column D has dollar figures that are associated with the inventory numbers in Column C. My question is how can I make it so that if an inventory number in Column C equals one in Column A that the dollar figure associated with the inventory number in Column C gets put into its own column on the same row as the inventory number it was equal to in Column A. I've tried basic IF functions and I can't get it to work because the inventory numbers aren't lined up on the same row. So one may be on row 300 but the other maybe located in row 12. Maybe if a double sort was possible or if someone knows how to make the row in the IF statement a variable.

Replacing Values Between Xls Files?
I have a file with some statistics on how agents at work performed. This file gets sent to all of them, but before we send it we change the names for a number, so that they don't know how the other agents are doing (avoiding comparisons). People had been doing this manually, but it's getting really complex as the number of agents is increasing. I know that this can be automatized, but I have no idea on how to do it. 1) What function can I use to replace a specific cell in spreadsheet 2 with what I type in a specific cell in spreadsheet 1 (e.g. type red in spreadsheet 1 in A1 and it will replace a blank cell A1 in spreadsheet 2 with red)? Replacing Cell References With IFBLANK
I have two worksheets, one contains lots of data and the other references this data to form a summary. The problem is that having set up all this I have found that not all the references on the summary sheet will always reference a cell with data in it and so bring back a value of 0. Since this summary sheet will be used to enter data into a database I would prefer a blank cell over a 0. I know I can use an IF ISBLANK to do this, but dont fancy going through each cell and re-writing the formula, so- Does anyone know an easy way of changing all the cell references to include the IFISBLANK statement?

Replacing Matched Cell Values
I have a spreadsheet with around 1000 rows on data. in each row of data there is a number e.g. 2673 (all in their own cells) so in column A you would have a list of just numbers in another workbook, the number thats in each row corresponds to another value e.g. 2673 = CE103. So this workbook has 2 columns. How To Add More Data To Existing Cells Without Replacing It
need to add same data to every other existing cell in the column, but not replace the data already in it, but to add to it. I've tried to google the answer and look here, but I probably use bad search terms. Replacing Special Characters When Importing Text
I have inherited a spreadsheet that will prompt the user for a text file to import and it will split each line into different cells based on column widths. The problem is that one field can contain non-printable characters that are causing the macro to split the data into 2 lines. XL2003 Replacing Multiple Codes Within Formula's

Removing And Replacing Items In Multi Column Listbox.
Ive been having lots of trouble programing a multi column listbox to play ball. On the form there is 1 tree view and two listbox's. The object is to double click a list 1 item and have that go into the list 2. Connected to the listbox2_dblClick.. Takes the selected list item and adds to columns 1 intergra value. This places a annoyance to me where listbox 2 is not fully populated (you will see ive fully populated the list during my own testing) and a item is selcted if double click on a blank part of the listbox it will increase the int value of the selected item. I though of populating the list with blanks (used "." as visual) so a cheek could be made on the double click item and if blank do nothing.....

Code To Copy, Paste Without Replacing The Existing Data
I have two sheets - sheet1 and sheet2. Everytime i run a macro in the sheet1and manually copy the rows from sheet1 {starting (A2:AI2)} and paste as values it in the sheet2 {starting (A2:AI2)}. Then I ll delete the available datas in the sheet1 and will run a macro for different customer.
