Return Sequence Number For Multiple Occurrences Of Value

I have the following data: (The Dept can occur multiple times in Col B.)

Col B
Row 1
[Code]....
What I want to do I want to insert a formula in each row of Col A that returns a number that indicates if the Dept in Col B is the first occurrence of the Dept, the second occurrence of the Dept, etc.
In Sheet1 are unique VM entries (Column A) which have a Group (Column B), Time (Column C) and a Reference (Column D) which can be same for other VM entries. In Sheet2 are the unique Reference Entries (Column A) which need Group (Column B) and Time (Column C) entries populated from Sheet 1. Multiple occureneces need to go in one cell, I realise this is not the best idea, but for this purpose they need to be and seperated by a comma or semi-colon.
In B2 I've used this formula: =INDEX(Sheet1!A1:D11,MATCH(A2,Sheet1!D1:D11,0),2) Which partly works, but only returns the first occurrence of H1 on Sheet1. I need all occurrences (i.e G1;G4;G8) returning for B2.
I can only think that some VBA script may be needed but I'm not really an expert in this area. In the full spreadsheet there are hundreds of rows and multiple entries, where Group and Time need to be populated on the second sheet
In Column A I have the list of strings that I need to search. I want to count the number of occurrences of these strings inside these two text files: Sample1.txt and Sample2.txt. For example I have the string "DOG". I want to search and count the number of times this string appeared in Sample1.txt, and Sample2.txt
In the attached sheet there is a list of horse runs in time order with the latest at the bottom..col C contains the rating for each run. I need a formula to fill down col d and e. Col d is to contain the rating of its previous run and column e the rating of its second last run. for example row 21 ..I have filled in manually Autumn charms last run had a rating of 116 and its second last run was 122..filled in in cell e21. if a horse has not ran(is now shown previously..above in column e..just leave the cols d and e blank...
I'm working on a productivity report, on which some employees may produce units for more than one team. The report is organized by team.
I'm already totaling the number of units for each employee which I'm listing in alphabetical order.
But, I would also like to do the following:
a) see the number of occurrence/teams each employee is producing units for. b) see the row numbers for each occurrence, which would normally be three or less. c) see the value for each occurrence.
I have a spreadsheet for tracking jobs. Most everything is based off of week # rather than date. I am trying to get the stats page of the workbook to tally the total number of late jobs per week.The current week is taken care of because there is a function that automatically displays on time yes or no and I just set it to count the yeses or nos.The problem I am having is for past weeks.
I tried- =COUNTIF(Table2[On-time],"No"+(CountIF(Table2[Week # Hidden],"<Weeknum(Now())" but that doesn't work. I also tried isolating the < like this. =COUNTIF(Table2[On-time],"No"+(CountIF(Table2[Week # Hidden],"<"Weeknum(Now()) and that did not work either.
------ UPDATE
In response to using CountIFS I have also tried-
=COUNTIFS(Table2[On-time],"NO",Table2[Due Week '# Hidden],"<Weeknum(Now())") this just returns a zero value even when I have a late job listed three weeks ago.
Say I have a certain range in excel from A1:C10. All of these cells contain one of three strings: Math, English, or Reading.
Given an input of ONE of these three (for example, a user can select "Reading"), the program should output ALL the row&column numbers of each occurrence of "Reading" in the range. Ideally, this would appear in a column.
Consider the following image that contains a sample range:

If "English" is the input, the output should be (in another column)
My task is that I have several documents exported in excel. The requirements in them were mapped to another document. The IDs were populated in a certain column but are now no longer needed. I have to convert those old Ids to the current ones. In my example I have populated Sheet one with the lookup table. In column A are the old IDs. In Column B are the new ones they map to. The old ones can map to several which is why there are more than one ID in some of the cells. In column D of Sheet 2 I have populated it with the old Ids. In Column A I'd like to have the lookup return the appropriate maps to the new Ids. For example for the first map in cell A2 it should return:
abc_18 abc_43 abc_6 abc_4 all in one cell.
Vlookup can return the first hit (abc_18 and abc_43 for cell D2), but ignores the other two IDs in cell D2. I was able to work around this combining the find, mid, and vlookup to return all values. The problem with that is that the formula gets monstrously big after just having it return 4. In the actual files it can be up to 30 IDs which would make that formula literally pages long since. I have pretty much no experience with macros, but it seems like the only solution since I have to send this off to various people so they can use it.
I have Excel 2003. I am trying to find the next number in a sequence of numbers. The number range is 1-59, and the sequence is 89 numbers that go like:
code number (as text) desired result date condition cost ($)
'1003
1 31/12/2000 1 5
[Code] ..........
if "code number", "date","condition" and "cost" the same line of rows so "desired result" = 1 like code "1003" or so code "1005" = 5, otherwise if there is a no match/same condition "desired result" start from = 2,3,4,etc.......
"A1" has a number containing "1000" I want column "B2" to choose the next number in sequence,(1001) so long as "A2" contains these letters "EHT". if it does not contain "EHT" i dont want excel to insert the number "1001" But if cell A3 contains, "EHT" I want the next number in sequence to be instered automatically... (1001, 1002, 1003")
I am trying to fill a column with a number series starting with 1 whenever a value changes in the adjacent column. So for instance I am trying to do something like this :
I'm trying to set up an auto sequence number(col A) based on a date entry (col B) as in the example below. The sequence number should reset to 0001 each time the date in Col B changes.

I have a list of dates in column A as shown below & I want to get a count formula in column B for the # of dates in sequence. When the date sequence breaks a new count should be done at the end of the next sequence. The formula should be 1 I can put in cell B1 and copy down so that there are blanks & a count is only done at the end of the date sequence like in cell B4 or B7 below.

If I want to create a column of numbers, say 1 2 3 4 5, I can simply add +1 to the previous cell and then use "fill down" to generate my number sequence. How would one generate a column of numbers that repeat once? e.g.: 1 1 2 2 3 3 4 4 5 5, etc
I need to create a grouped sequence that changes every 10 rows.
So in Column A cell A2 the number would start at 01349 and every 10 cells it would decrease by 1 and go on down to 0 so it would look something like this:
I have in column AU cell 39 to cell 500 random sequences of 1-10 rows , with numbers in them, (as an result of formulas) I need to count the number of rows in each sequence that have numbers of 35 or less , but only up to the first number of 35 or higher. eg:-
I have a somewhat large spreadsheet that is imported from an AS/400 database which shows the number of times something is being used. It lists the object in a row for each use. For instance, if the object is being used 4 times, there would be four rows of this object's name as well as a 0, 1, 2, 3 next to the correct row. Where it is being used is listed in the H Column.
I'm just trying to count the number of times each object is used and where it is used and list it out in another worksheet. Like this:
Object 1, 4 uses, Place 1 2 3 and 4.
Can someone point me in the right direction in terms of where to start with this? I don't mind giving it a shot in terms of the coding but I'm somewhat at a loss in terms of the general "how to".
I need to figure out the number of occurrance of a letter in a word written in a cell. For Example i am writing "pattern" in a Excel cell. I want to know the marco/vba code that will give me the number of occurrance of each letter. The output should be:
I'm trying to figure out how to write a VBA Match function that can look for multiple criteria and return the row number of a successful match.
I have about 255,000 rows of data on the worksheet "Filtered". Column B contains my Item Number and Column D contains the supply source. I want to find the row where ItemNumber and SupplySource match my variables and then return the value from Column C.
I can do a match for one criteria, but where I'm having problems is getting it so the two matches are on the same row.
The database is for a Prison, and an obvious item to search for on a userform is Prison number. I have a serach option that generates an array listing in a listbox, selecting that item then populates the userform - no problem.
The problem occurs when an individual has more than once instance that has been recorded, is it possible to have more than one row generated in a listbox that can be selected, I only want indiviudal rows selected. The coding I am using for one of the single instance listbox is etc etc etc has been used to demonstrate that the coding continues to the length of the array requied

I am trying to group the same values in columns together and i was thinking about having a number count. What's the function that might be able to display this (display whats in Column B in the example below)?
