Saving CSV File And Sending To A Folder Over And Over Again

View 10 RepliesI currently have a tab on my spreadsheet named CSV. I have a macro that when called saves the information on that tab and sends it to a folder saved as a CSV file.
However this tab has a lot of information on and i want it so send it with only the information needed at the time. the data i want to send is in Columns A to AM and has rows down to 7392. I only want it to save the file with the data in the rows that has "Export" in Column AQ ignoring any other rows of data that i dont need it to send
I dont want anything to happen to the CSV tab ie delete lines etc as files will be getting sent regulary from that sheet still but with the data constantly updating in different cells
I have a macro which saves file to a specific folder. Problem is I can save the file only in my local drive C: but not on a server for some reason.
Here is the
At home in my home computer this code worked when C: was selected.
ChDir ("c:")
Title = Application.GetSaveAsFilename(Name, "Excel files (*.xls), *.xls")
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Name
Save the file in specific place
But when I substituted C: path with my server path it doesnt work! Have a look. Its the exact same code except my path is different.
ChDir ("\Lnf001Lnf1vol1SharedOP_ENGWork Order")
Title = Application.GetSaveAsFilename(Name, "Excel files (*.xls), *.xls")
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs Name
I have a problem concerning sending an active word document via mail. I have a worksheet with various information in it, that I am exporting to a word document. I then want to send the word document via email. I want to do this without saving the changes in the word document. I am working with excel 2010. I have posted some of my code below.
VB:
Sub letter()
Dim myWord As New Word.Application
Dim adr As Variant
[Code]....
I get the following errormessage: "Compile error. Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment"
Could anyone tell me if it is possible to get a file to save as follows:
filepathfolder called "YYYY"folder called "MMM"File.xls
where YYYY is the year and MMM is the month?
The folders YYYY and MMM may or may not exist. Is it possible to get excel to create them if they do not already exist?
I have alot of project folders on my harddrive.
All in format: I:/12345-costumer-projectname/
The five digits are unique for each project.
I make calculations for these projects using an excel file. In this excel I also type the projectnumber (cell J2)
Now i would like to make a button. When pressed, it checks the projectnumber cell J2, looksup the corresponding folder and saves the excelfile in PDF format in this folder.
I have found macro to find files in folders, but none which do the above.
I need a macro in a workbook to look at all the files in the same folder that have "*att*.xls" in the name and determine and copy from the range A15:W515 only the rows that have data in at least columns A, C and D. Each file will vary as to how many rows there will be and there are more than the files with "*att*.xls" in the folder. The data will be on the only worksheet in each file and the worksheet is named "G2WAttendee_xls" the data from all the files need to be copied to the file called "Consolidated webinar reports.xls" (I am using Excel 2003) and to a sheet called "Attendance Data" and added to the end of the last paste.
At the start of the macro the current file "Consolidated webinar report.xls" should be saved to a sub folder of the current directory and have the date saved added to the name. The sub folder is called "Completed reports". The data in the original file on worksheet "Attendance Data" should be deleted.
At the end of the process all the files that have had data copied from them should be moved to the sub folder "Attendance reports consolidated" (This could be done as each file is closed if that is easier).
I have headings in row 1 of the "Attendance Data" worksheet that match the headings in the various files in the folder (which will always be in row 14 of the individual "*att*.xls" files).
The folder with all the files and the "Consolidated webinar report.xls" file is at path "Z:P and S MEvaluationsWebinar series 2012-13TB".
I have a macro that saves the workbook after it has finsihed the rest of its formatting. I am finding it is saving in the wrong folder. I looked at my code and it is clearly states 'my documents' where I want it to save. Yet it keeps saving on a random folder on a shared drive.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI would like to copy a workbook from one folder to another without opening the original. Obviously, tempname.SaveCopyAs doesn't work, can you suggest an alternative?
Sub gettemplate()
Dim tempname, tempcopy As String
tempname = Application. GetOpenFilename 'Choose the path of the original workbook
tempcopy = Application.GetSaveAsFilename 'Choose the path where the copy will be saved
tempname.SaveCopyAs tempcopy 'Want to save the original workbook into the copy file path
Workbooks.Open tempname 'Open the copy
End Sub
I'm sure this will be an easy question, but I've been searching for awhile and can't seem to find an answer. I'm trying to write code in VBA that will check if a directory within c:documents and settings...my documents exists, and then save a file to that directory. The problem is, I'm having trouble finding the my documents directory. Is there some object or property that I could use to find the my documents path? Note that the worksheet that I'll be working with is in a separate directory, and therefore neither activeworkbook.path nor thisworkbook.path would be an option.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a spreadsheet that imports data, manipulates it then deletes 2 of the sheets then saves the file under a different name to the network. Is there any way to save this new worksheet without it storing the macros - so when the user open it, only the data is there and they get no prompt to enable macros?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI currently have a application that people fill out on a userform. When they click on a command button at the end it puts all that information on a sheet i made and then we print it off. My objective is when it saves it to the sheet it also save a copy of that paticular sheet in a seperate location such as H:/applications. Also the copy should be renamed to the information thats in a specific cell Such as j4 the have this text added after that "Application"..

I have added a button to the quick bar so when i open an email and push that button, a Excel file opens and i can input some data. Thing is, i need that if the opened email have some kind of attachment, when i push the button i want this attachement to be saved into a specific folder. Is that posssible?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like excel to create the folder C:/Bill if it doesn't already exist when I click save/save as option and save the workbook in it with a filename that is a combination of text/values in cells A1 and A2 on Sheet1. Better if the save as dialog box appears with this option selected so that I have to just click Save in the save as dialog box to save it in "C:/Bill".
View 9 Replies View RelatedI would like my macro to prompt the user to select a folder for files to be either opened from or saved to during the running of my macro.
In fact, I need them to select two folders, one for this month and the other for last month.
I think I need to set the two folders as a variable but being fairly new to vba I'm not quite sure how to do this.
I have numerous spreadsheets that I need to open and unhide a sheet, that has XML data stored in cell A1. What I need to do is copy that data in cell A1 and paste it into a text document and save that as an XML file saved as the XLS workbook name with a date stamp.
I'm running into many issues, the main issue is the saving as current file name, and the formatting of the text/XML file.
Here is my current code, which doesn't reference the current file name and is just very generic. Once I get the saving as file-name correct and the formatting of the xml file correct, I will work on it a bit more.
Code:
Sub Test()
Dim Rng As Range
Dim wb As Workbook
Set Rng = Range("A1:A2")
Set wb = Workbooks.Add
With wb
Rng.Copy

I am setting up a "save as" macro that saves a file by replacing another file in a folder. Even though the macro has been recorded by approving the replacement (the prompt appears "the file --- already exists. Do you want to replace the existing file?"), when I run the macro, I am again prompted about replacing the file. Is it possible to avoid the prompt so the file is automatically saved by replacing the named file?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there is a way to write a macro that will take an excel file that I have called Alldata and then have it copy the first two sheets to a new workbook named something else( FullSparameter_0) and then copy the name of the third and fourth sheet into the new FullSparameter_0 workbook and then copy column A-E from sheet dB Alldata.xls and paste it into the FullSparameter_0.xls workbook in the same dB sheet in the same spot. And do the same thing with the Phase Sheet. i know this sounds confusing, but im really new to the VBA stuff.
I just need 15 different files from the original Alldata.xls that will be named FullSparameter_0, FullSparameter_1, .., FullSparameter_14. but each file will have the same two first sheets, Setup Information and Cal Verification, and the same last two sheet names, dB and Phase, but then in the dB and phase sheets, it will copy over the next four columns of data. so in FullSparameter_0 it will have column A-E from sheet dB in Alldata.xls in the dB sheet in FullSparameter_0 (Same with the Phase Sheets). Then in FullSparameter_1 it will have column A and Columns F,G,H and I (for dB and Phase). In fullSparameter_2 it will have column A and then J,K,L and M. Each FullSparameter_X will have the exact same first two sheets and then the other columns for the last two sheets will be pasted into columns A-E in dB and Phase.
found the following code which works for 1 workbook at a time. I am trying to save 7 workbooks at 1 time. Is it possible?
Sub SaveAsCell()
Dim strName As String
On Error Goto InvalidName
strName = Sheet1. Range("V77")
ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs strName
It will work on the first sheet but none after that. I need to have each workbook saved with the value in cell V77. Also if that is possible, is it possible to change where the file is saved as well?
Right now I have a master workbook that will open the 7 other workbooks, paste data onto several pages in each workbook. I would like the macro to save the workbooks. The workbooks are named: 02 Tuesday, 03 Wednesday, 04 Thursday, 05 Friday, 06 Saturday, 07 Sunday, 08 Monday.
I am trying to save my workbook in a specific directory with a specific filename and to incorporate a date field from within the spreadsheet. I have changed the format of the cell so it does not include / as i know this would not work. Saving it is the easy part but adding in the field from the spreadsheet is where im falling over.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to open a website, then for excel to download the csv file, then for it to save it in a specific folder under a specific name and file format (excel).
I am successful at opening the website with the following code, but how to do the rest.
Sub Searchez()
Dim IE As Object
Set IE = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")
IE.Navigate "http://quote.morningstar.ca/Quicktakes/stock/keyratios.aspx?t=clwr®ion=USA&culture=en-CA&ops=clear" 'load web page google.com
IE.Visible = True
While IE.Busy
DoEvents
Wend
'IE.Navigate2 "javascript:SRT_keystuts.exportcsv()"
'this is the name of the download link as from when i hover my pointer over download link.
End Sub
The code below looks at file names in column A and then goes to a folder and opens and copies the data in range c2 -lastrow from each file and pastes the data into sheet2.
how I could add to the code so that it also inserts the file name in column c?
It would make it easier to track the data in column B.
VB:
Sub CopyFromFile()
Dim fPath As String
Dim lRow As Long
[Code].....
I have attached a sample workbook. The list of file name is in sheet 1. An example of the output is in sheet 2. The data in column A is dummy data generally spans 100's of rows not just 10 as in the example.
The purpose of the code is to be able to put a list of file names in column a in sheet 1 and extract data from those files in a folder. The data extraction works fine. The reson for adding the file names is so that I know what file the data came from.
Is there a way I can from vba cut a file from a folder and put in to another folder? And also create a folder? If yes, how can I do this?
Is it better to use dir or scripting.filesystem object?and if there is an advantage to use one over the other.
I have a spreadsheet file (excel 2003). I'd like convert it in CSV with delim.
But when I save it appear message that say "the file contains some things not compatible with CSV with delimiter" then I can save it and lose information. After when I open it with Word it looks ok but delimiter is ";"
I set delimiter in windows and inside excel too to ","
But I can't undertand what are things not compatible. there are only words and number as general format....(there aren't "," and each other strange character).
How can I modify this code to simply display the pdf and not have it save to anywhere.....
Sub SavePDF_Click()
Dim UserSite As String
UserSite = Sheets("Site").Range("D102").Value
Sheets("View your Graphs").Select
Sheets("View your Graphs").Activate

I have multiple rows that must contain the quotes. I have tried using """", and Chr(34), but then that puts """ (3 quotes) around my text. Is there a different function that I should be attempting to use?
