I have a worksheet that has 8 activex listboxes. Each listbox is tied to the sames list of values (identified as a named range). The named range is a list of countries. Each country should only be selected once, therefore, I would like the selected country(ies) to not show up as a choice when the user makes a selection from another listbox. If this is too hard, maybe we can get a msgbx to appear anytime the users tries to select a country that has already been selected.
Each question is multiple choice (either A/B/C/D/E) and the values listed are the probability of each letter occurring. What formula would I need to put in the 'output' column for it in each row to output a letter based on the probabilities. E.g. in question 1, most of the time it would output E, but sometimes (rarely) A and very rarely B/C/D.
i have a user form with 4 combo boxes and one text box. what i've tried to do is make it so that if the month combo box reads january, then all of the info is placed in a worksheet called january. at the moment it is putting all the info inputted into one sheet. if some one could take a peek at the code below.
If cbomonth.Value = January Then Sheets("January").Select
Do If IsEmpty(ActiveCell) = False Then ActiveCell.Offset(1, 0).Select End If Loop Until IsEmpty(ActiveCell) Or IsEmpty(ActiveCell.Offset(0, 1)) Or IsEmpty.....................
I have 2 userforms. UF1 and UF2. UF2 has a rowsource set to its Listbox. UF1 has a search function that searches the original sheet. Now I want to double click on an entry in UF1's Listbox and select the same entry in UF2's Listbox. I want to then work with that entry in UF2.
I do all of this to circumvent Excels restriction. I can't search in a rowsource Listbox, but any edits done to my new Listbox wouldn't be made to the Excel sheet.
I'm working on making a spreadsheet that allows me to select an item type from a dropdown list (through validation) and then would copy in a range of values from another worksheet based on my dropdown selection.
The set-up: I am primarily concerned with two sheets in my workbook, BiS and Weights. I have a database of items and their associated values listed in Weights. I have already managed to get dropdown lists of my specific item types using named lists and have put that in the BiS worksheet.
What I would like to do is have the values in the Weights worksheet copied over in the same order and number of cells based on what item I select from the dropdown list.
I have a form users can use to input information into a spreadsheet, but also use to recall data (so they can search for a record, recall it, amend one or two fields and then re-save it)
I would like a listbox to display what is already in the cell in the worksheet to start with. Only when they then click in the listbox would they then get a list of predefined options.
So they recall the data onto the from and the listbox says "squatters", because it is an old value that shouldn't be used anymore. Once they click to choose another option, however, they only get a choice of either "vacant", "occupied" or "WIP" (for example).
Allow a user to make multiple choices from a user form listbox populated from a named range (LIST), that when checked and the submit button is clicked would add TRUE to column A in the same row for each selected item. Then when the user opens the form again - for each row where there is TRUE in column A, the check box on the form would be checked and if the user then removed the check and clicked submit, TRUE would be removed from column A that was associated with that item/row on the worksheet.
I am limiting choices in a certain cell to a list via data validation (using data validation, allow - list and pointing to the source). I want to limit the next set of choices in the next column (in this example in Column C) for the user based on the choice made in the adjoining cell. For example to keep it simple I will use the following: if the user selected "Fruit" in B1, then the options in C1 would only show "Oranges","Apples", "Pears". If however the user selected "Veg" it would only show "Cucumber", "Lettuce", "Spinach", "Radishes" in the drop down in column C. I can put a prefix in front of the column C data validation list if that is needed to narrow down e.g. FR-oranges, FR-apples etc.
A B C 1 Fruit Oranges 2 Veg Lettuce 3
Data Validation source for Column B (H2:H4) Fruit Veg Nuts
Data Validation for Column C: (I2:I10) Oranges Apples Pears Cucumber Lettuce Spinach Radishes Almonds Peanuts
In my interface, I have a listbox with the numbers 1 to 100. In my macro, I need to link the selection made in the listbox (from 1 to 100) to a variable. With that variable I perform simple calculations. Also, do I need to declare a variable for both the selection made in the listbox and the listbox itself?
I've created a macro that searches the active worksheet for a textboxvalue and copies all full and partial matches to a multicolumn listbox. However, I'd like to install some sort of filter that prevents registrations not containing the value in a combobox from making it into the listbox (so I'd actually like to search for registrations meeting two criteria, i.e. an advanced search). The macro I'm using is:
Private Sub Query_Change()
Dim vFound As Range Dim strFirstAddress As String
On Error Goto ErrorHandle
Set vFound = Cells.Find(What:=Query.value, After:=Cells(1, 10), _ LookIn:=xlFormulas, LookAt:=xlPart, SearchOrder:=xlByRows, SearchDirection:=xlNext, _ MatchCase:=False, SearchFormat:=False) If Not vFound Is Nothing Then strFirstAddress = vFound.Address
I've attached the workbook I'm working on, in case I haven't made myself sufficiently clear in the above.
I have a multiselect listbox with values that gets populated from a sql statement, and I would like to get is the first or second index from the selected item. I know how to get the listindex from a combobox by using:
VB: cbnumber.List(.ListIndex, 0)
How can I loop through and get the 1st index number for the selected items only from the listbox? I want to pass this index number to another sql statement.
I have a listbox with 8 columns. Multiselect is enabled, and it must stay this way. As part of my program, after the user presses a command button, I need to use the row indexes of the selected rows in order to copy the selected information into an array which is then placed in a different listbox, and then delete the items from the original list. Pseudocode of what I want to do:
But my understanding is that .ListIndex does not work this way with multiselect listboxes. I've tried searching for a solution for a while, but I cannot find one.
I have attached my Excel File with the userform I am trying to do. What I am trying to do is change the table in the listbox based on the selection of the combobox and then my selection in the listbox will pass the selected values to Range A1:C1.
List 1 (TV Brand) Sony LG Samsung Depended List 2 (Models) Sony LG Samsung EX420 55EB9600 PL43E450A1FXZP EX430 77EC9800 PL43E490B4FXZP EX550 55EA8800 PL43E400U1FXZP EX520 KN55S9C UN32EH5300FXZP EX645 55EA9800 PL64E8000GFXZP
I'm using two Listboxes (Form Control) with multiple selection options namely Listbox 1 (Brand) & Listbox 2 (Models). I want listbox 2 input range to be depended on selection made on Listbox 1 (Brand). For example, if user selects Sony then box2 should show only Sony's models and if user selects Sony & LG, box2 should show models for both Sony & LG.
I currently have a drop down menu in one of my worksheets, in which I have several different text values entered. What I would like to do is link each of those text values to a numerical value, which would be entered in to another cell. So if I select "Option A" from my drop down list, and Option A is equal to 200, I want "200" to show up in another cell. If I select "Option B" from my drop down list, and Option B is equal to 400, I want "400 to show up in that same other cell.
I am calculating multiple Correlations for long lists of data. I want the correlation based on the value in a given column. In the below example I would like a different correlation for each value in colA and the correlation will be between colC and colD. ColB lists the different people whose data are used for the correlations. In actuality there are 30 or more people for each test. In every case ColC is the same for a given value of ColB (although I doubt that matters). The number of people taking each test varies. I would like a correlation of ColC an ColD for each value of ColA.
Simplified version of my data
ColA ColB ColC ColD Test1 Fred .75 1 Test1 Max .80 0 Test1 Sara .90 1 Test2 Fred .75 1 Test2 Max .80 1 Test2 Sara .90 0 .... Test100 Fred .75 1 Test100 Max .80 1 Test100 Sara .90 1
Data example: AB1AREANumber2SW103SW114SE125NE136SW147SW158SW169NW17
I need a code in VBA that can find the 1st cell in col A that contains "SW" and store the number in col B as V1= # then find the 4th cell in col A that contains "SW" and store the number in col B as V2= #.
so that i can do some math with the numbers. The code should result in 10-15
What I am tying to do is to select the column that matches the time, for instance anything before 6 AM would select Column C, betweeb 6 and 6:14 still selects column C, 6:15 to 6:29 selects column D, Etc
im trying to create a two column listbox that will transfer both columns to the listbox on the right and also transfer from the right to left currently right to left works but when I trasnfer from the left to right then the right to left only one column is moved.
I'm using excel 2003. I would like to select and copy rows of data within a worksheet of a workbook and then paste those rows into a newly created excel workbook. That is the easy part. The complication is that I would like the macro to select the rows based on a particular string value that will be impossible to specify in a fixed way (i.e., it will change from project to project). Let's say the variable that distinguishes the rows is location, so some are from Tokyo, some New York, and some from Paris. Using vba, how can one 'splice' the data into (in this case, three) seperate workbooks based on the string/values of another variable?
I am familiar with auto-filter, but in this case, I really do need to create seperate workbooks, rather than apply calculations to a selection of the data.
I have a macro that copies three sections of data from a word document and pastes it within the Excel worksheet. The column of data is pasted in a single column (data to be space-delimited and evaluated later), and what I would like the MACRO to do is separate the three sections of data based on the starting and ending values of the section and place them in different columns.
Section 1 : starts with the word "Team" Section 1 : ends with the word "City"
Section 2 : starts with the word "Location" Section 2 : ends with the word " Date"
Section 3 : starts with the word "Member" Section 3: ends with the word "Age"
So section 1 would be pasted into cell C1, section 2 pasted into G1 and section 3 pasted into J1.
Each section will have vary in number of rows between the starting/ending values, so to cut and paste the section based on the starting and ending value is vital.
What I want to do is lets say in the drop down menu I have options Food, sports, Movies. now if I select Sports then it should give me a sub caterory options like baseball, hockey, football and not the options for food & movies as well - so as to make the choices lesser and more user friendly. How do I create that - is it too tough - I am a novice in excel. Can you upload an example sheet with tips on how you did it. I have uploaded an example.
I'm looking to set up a combo box with different year options and add functionality so the data that can be seen on the sheet at a given time is driven by the combo box year value. (functionality somewhat like a webpage, where once you choose a certain value from a drop down box, you see data corresponding to the value)
