Apr 22, 2008If I opened a new workbook so i had sheet1 sheet2 sheet3... Starting at sheet1, how could i move on to sheet2 using VBA without actually naming it....
Is there a selectsheet.next or something?

Re-Naming Sheets Per Cell Data & Hiding Sheets
Aug 26, 2009on sheet1 I have a button I need to do the following when clicked:
(1) name the next 30 sheets based on cell values in sheet1
(2) for those 30 sheets, hide some of them based on a y/n input in sheet 1
To clarify: the worksheets do not need to be created, they already exist. They just need to be renamed and hidden based on that y/n criteria. see attachment with just 1 worksheet for clarification. So - The next 30 sheets are to be named by the following ranges (B7:B16), (B21:B30) and (B35:B44). For every product with a "n" in column C of sheet1, the worksheet for that product needs to be hidden.

Naming Sheets From Cell Contents
Oct 18, 2006I have a workbook with a sheet titled Variables. There are 6 additional sheets in the workbook and each sheets needs to be named with the cell contents of A2:A7 in the Variables sheet. I have attached the workbook and you can look at the names in the sheets tabs to see what I'm trying to do here.

Apr 21, 2009I have got this macro working OK but now I need to add a 2 letter prefix/suffix depending on what time it was created (am or pm). Detail: If the sheet is created between 0600hrs and 1800hrs then "DS" and likewise between 1800hrs and 0600hrs then "NS". I wonder if there is anyway I can create and name the tabs automatically. I already searched for threads in the forum, but only found this this backwards "tabs to cells". Apr 30, 2008I have a workbook that I am continually adding and removing pages from. The pages are used together in groups of 3 and as a result are named 1.1,1.2,1.3; 2.1,2.2,2.3 and so on. I have a macro that works on sheet 1.3 and now need it to repeat on sheets 2.3, 3.3 etc depending on how many sheets I have open and active in the workbook. Is there anyway that I can create a macro that will work on all sheets that have titles ending in 3 and then end if there are no more? Thus it would work if my workbook goes to either 2.3 or to 7.3 and so on.

So, If I'm on Sheet1 and I have G5 selected, when I change Sheets to Sheet3 for example, I want it to select G5 on Sheet3.

Aug 25, 2008Use a drop down menu (Combo box for example) to look at all the sheet names (these will be names of people, sheets added all the time) be able to select a name which when selected takes me to that sheet. So the amount of sheets will increase so everything will need to be dynamic.

It jumps from the first page to the second (due to the sheets("data") function. Dec 26, 2013I have spreadsheet with 13 sheets the first of which is a title page, what I wish to do is hide the other twelve sheets and somehow be able to select them from a drop down box (or similar what ever works with a macro)on the front page, the selected sheets would then appear unhidden.
I am OK with formulas etc but macros are beyond my ability even trying to follow examples & tutorials online has me lost.
The sheets all have specific but different names and none need to be selected more than once (although if possible it would be good). I understand where to put the macro in but as to how it is written ......

Issue with array that's bolded The way it is set up is to rename the 3rd sheet to MyFileName and rename the last sheet to MyFileNameTwo. The file names will remain constant. They will always be the 3rd and last sheets, but the number in between will vary. Is there anyway to select the 3rd sheet through the last sheet to delete these? When I use the array it wants sheet names but those are based on multiple variables in other workbooks.

Selecting Sheets Meeting A Criteria For Print Preview
Aug 31, 2006I have a print userform where I let the user print a summary package of sheets. I am trying to allow the user to see a print preview of certain sheets. The first one is always the "Bid Summary" sheet (sheet 2). The rest are a dynamic number of sheets with numeric names starting at 1. Now I need a easy way for me to allow the user to see a print preview of the Bid Summary, and then all the sheets right afterwards. I cant use sheets("1","2",...).select because it wont select a ever changing number of sheets. Really it is a problem of selecting a varied number of sheets in VB.

The problem is that A1:C14 contains blank cells, and there is also an adjacent column D that I do not want to copy.
So, UsedRegion and CurrentRegion aren't doing it for me. (It selects Column D too.)

Tab Naming
Sep 15, 2008My workbook has a summary page and one page for every day of the month. I am making a template file, so I can duplicate it to use every month of the year.
Each week is separated by a worksheet titled "week 1", "week 2" , etc. This is used in the summary page so I can gather totals for a week.
What I want to be able to do is this:
On the first day of the new month, go to week one and type in the date. Then that sheet tab would equal the date, and each daily tab name thereafter would increment the appropriate amount (1day). Then on week 2, it would be equal to the tab value for Friday +3.
The problems I see are:
1. In week 1 the month can start on any on of the 5 worksheets I have set up to cover the week. So any first day coding I need may have to be repeated in the first 5 worksheets
Is this do-able?
2. Tab naming code I have found on this site is not working for dates. 9-15-08 typed into a1 will not translate into the tab, even tho it is a valid name. I am using code VoGII gave which follows: ...
Spreadsheet Naming
Aug 24, 2009We utilize a shared spreadsheet in our department named "Arrangement Requests".
From time to time and seemingly very random the sheet renames itself. When this happens anyone adding information to it becomes unable to save since the original "no longer exists".
This causes problems because everything we do is in real time and expected to be viewed by all as soon as save has been indicated.
