Is there a macro available which will create a pre-defined name for a pivot sheet, which will contain the word "Pivot" followed by a underscore "_" and the name of the sheet on which the pivot is applied.
Example: I have data on a sheet called "Salary" and put a pivot on "Salary" on a new sheet, the new sheet should be auto named as "Pivot_Salary"
In Excel 2013, I have a pivot table showing the deals that our sales team are trying to close during this Qtr. and how much revenue we hope to get from those deals during this Qtr, next Qtr and beyond. The FILTER area of the pivot table is used to select the current Qtr.In the ROWS section, I set the "Deal ID" field with a value filter to Top 10 items by current Qtr revenue.
Data is refreshed weekly.
At the start of the Qtr, this works perfectly.
Towards the end of the Qtr, (when there are less than 10 deals with revenue this Qtr, and lots with 0), the "Top 10" filter is showing all the deals with 0.
How can I filter a pivot to show items that are >0 AND Top 10?
I send these kind of mails to intimate people about upcoming meeting, the format I prepare in Excel 2013 and paste it in Outlook 2013 (as a table, not as an image)
Now one of the columns I put as 'Days Remaining' which basically tells the users how many days are there to the review, the image below will show how it looks:
Now the numbers of days remaining will be correct the day I send the mail, but when somebody opens the mail at a later date, it would not sort of show the true number.
Is there a way to auto-update this number inside the Outlook mail, as it works in an Excel Sheet?
I can create a pivot table with this data and get the following:
Row Labels Count of Q1 Strongly Agree 4 Agree 2 Grand Total 6
This all works nicely, however I require that the other options ("Neither Agree or Disagree", "Disagree", and "Strongly Disagree") be present, even if their values are 0, like the following:
Row Labels Count of Q1 Strongly Agree 4 Agree 2 Neither Agree or Disagree 0 Disagree 0 Strongly Disagree 0 Grand Total 6
What I tried doing was adding a new column and calling it something like Ratings with the following:
I have several competitors balance sheets (around 15), they all have the same structure, what i will like to do is summarize all this data into a pivot table to have a grand total but also be able to filter the data by single competitor.
I have tried to do multiple consolidation ranges, power pivot, pivot but i was unsuccessful, maybe i arranged the data wrong or im not using the right solution. im using excel 2013
I have 2 columns with a list of competitors (competitor 1 & competitor 2) involved in a negotiation + the price/value of the negotiation. Each line represents a negotiation with a value in numbers & the names of the 2 main competitors involved.
I have around 150 lines in the original file and would like to show in a graphic what are the competitors that we regularly find in the negotiations and what is the value of the negotiations they are involved.
The problem is that there is no main competitor so i can find the same name in any of the 2 columns and i cannot make separate graphs for each column because if i do so i duplicate the value.
Is there any way that aggregate this info into a single graphic/pivot graphic? Im using excel 2013
I experience it takes a lot of time to protect/unprotect sheets in Excel 2013. However, only if the operation is made WITH PASSWORD. This was not the case in Excel 2007. Operation was fast independent with/witout password.
In attached file I have made an example where the time to protect/unprotect 25 sheets is investigated. Can make the test in Excel2013 to double check it is not my computer causing the time delay.
Result test - 25 sheets: Protect - No password: 0,02 s Unprotect - No password: 0,06 s Protect - With password: 6,9 s Unprotect - With password: 6,9 s
I would like to mirror a range of cells between two sheets in the same workbook, so that if the data is manually input into one of the cells in range (E5:H11) in 'Sheet 1', it is automatically updated in the corresponding cell in (H33:K39) of 'Sheet 2', and vice versa.
We have 3 PCs, all running MS Office 2013. On 1 of these machines, it is doing strange things with formatting. If you open a document or try to paste anything into certain documents, it decides everything is currency format and assigns all sorts of wrong formatting to the entire sheet, or the entire document. There may be some cells in the doc that are indeed currency, but only a small proprtion. If I open a new, fresh document and paste into that document, it does not do this, it seems to work normally, only applying currency formatting where it might be applicable. On some larger docs that have this issue, no matter what I do, it just continues to apply these strange settings.
I have a workbook with five sheets. One sheet is the Master and then one sheet each for four organizations. Each organization will populate data for their own sheet and I want Excel to automatically populate the Master with the info from each individual sheet.
I tried using and modifying the vba from this post [URL]). My workbook varies from the original in that the first seven rows are header rows so the first cell to be edited in each sheet is A8, I have 38 columns instead of 10, and I am using Excel 2013 instead of Excel 2003.
I figured out that I needed to change the vba to look like this to start copying from the first cell (A8) and to populate the master:
This seems to work, but until the first cell (A8) is populated in the organizations' sheets, it messes up the prior row on the Master (Row 7).
I've also noticed that undo becomes unavailable when switching between sheets and also copy/cut & paste between sheets doesn't work so I can't correct the way the script messes up the format initially (this I presume is due to the Copy Destination in the vba?).
I'm making a Excel 2013 spreadsheet that has formula in a column that auto enters a number 1-40 when something is entered to the left of that cell. There are 300 rows in the spreadsheet. I would like to make a drop down list in a column cell to the right that would delete that number in that cell from the drop down list. For example cell C1 has 39, that 39 then is deleted from the drop down list. C2 has 22 in it, click on the drop down list cell and it shows 1-40 less 39 and 22.
on sheet1 I have a button I need to do the following when clicked: (1) name the next 30 sheets based on cell values in sheet1 (2) for those 30 sheets, hide some of them based on a y/n input in sheet 1
To clarify: the worksheets do not need to be created, they already exist. They just need to be renamed and hidden based on that y/n criteria. see attachment with just 1 worksheet for clarification. So - The next 30 sheets are to be named by the following ranges (B7:B16), (B21:B30) and (B35:B44). For every product with a "n" in column C of sheet1, the worksheet for that product needs to be hidden.
make the auto naming code displayed on the worksheet tab die after first entry into, so that regardless whether any values are changed in the worksheet--a minute, hour, day after-- the "namedate" stays the same.
vba in excel 2013 pivot table that updates from an online CRM rows are a to h and it can be any number of rows. What I am trying to do is track progress. In column f values indicate probability for success 10 25 45 90, which can go up or down. The pivot table is refreshed to get the latest values from CRM. the update is handled by a connection to the crm not in the vba.
So far I been researching methods to conditionally format values that went up, down or remained the same since the last refresh with up down and across arrows. I have managed to piece together what I think should work but alas it is not. So I have come to you internet.
My code first clears any formatting and goes down the column avoiding null or empty cells, comparing the values in column f to values in column j. I have 3 conditions greater than, less than or equal to, and would like add an icon for each based on the result of the comparison.
Finally when it finishes the column the code copies the current values in the pivot table column f to column j outside the pivot table which i hope to be able to hide once the cf works. The code is below
I have a workbook with a list of names of up to 15 people in each of 5 rows. Each row then populates a row in a separate workbook with those names. Each person is identified by a number and each person then has their own worksheet in that workbook.
Is it possible in some way to auto-name the tab for each worksheet from the number in the name cell?
I want my charts to be located in a new sheet each. I also need their names to start with "GR-Chart[number here]". So they should be GR-Chart1, GR-Chart2, GR-Chart3,......
ActiveChart.Location Where:=xlLocationAsNewSheet, Name:= "GR-Chart" & [this part I got wrong]
I have a workbook with a sheet titled Variables. There are 6 additional sheets in the workbook and each sheets needs to be named with the cell contents of A2:A7 in the Variables sheet. I have attached the workbook and you can look at the names in the sheets tabs to see what I'm trying to do here.
The workbook is too large to attach but can be viewed here: http://www.shuffleupanddeal.org/name_sheets.xls or http://www.shuffleupanddeal.org/name_sheets.zip
I have got this macro working OK but now I need to add a 2 letter prefix/suffix depending on what time it was created (am or pm). Detail: If the sheet is created between 0600hrs and 1800hrs then "DS" and likewise between 1800hrs and 0600hrs then "NS". Outcome: The sheet will then have a name like - "22 Mar DS"...code included below
I have a huge db that has a column "C" with a list of names. I have been creating tabs and naming them according to that list. I wonder if there is anyway I can create and name the tabs automatically. I already searched for threads in the forum, but only found this this backwards "tabs to cells". By the way, the names in column "C" sometimes repeat.
Im sure there is a post somewhere on this forum as I have seen it before but I cant find it anywhere. All I want to do is be able to select Sheets Sun,Mon,Tue,Wed,Thu,Fri,Sat without naming each of the sheets. The post I seen would select all the sheets between the two sheets that were stated in the vba code. something like: Sheets( Array("Sun" To "Sat").select
for my school project, I am right now doing time tracking for all of my activities throughout the day with excel. Here is basically what I am doing: For everything I do, I record and put in start time and end time for the activity.(I use simple formula to subtract these twos) If my day goes on like study, break, study, meal, study, break and each activity takes one hour for each, I have total of 3 hours studying, 2 hours taking break and one hour for meal. I am using pivot table to show all totals for each activity.
Pivot table is working best as far as my knowledge goes as I can choose and look up total of multiple activity combined. The problem here is I am making one sheet per a day and I need to continue this for three months. (So that seems like 90 worksheet). What I was thinking is I make Sheet 1 as master sheet. Then, copy and paste the entire sheet for 90 sheets assuming all formulas including pivot table go along with them. then, when I put in new data to other sheet, magic happens and values in pivot tables will change relatively after refresh. You might be probably laughing hard at me right now. I know..I tried it for like 3 sheets. Simple formula to subtract endtime and start time still work accordingly with new data. But, Pivotal table is playing dead at all.
I researched and found that that might be problem with reference and absolute cell reference thingy. ( to make pivotal table work for different worksheet). All the cells used ( including column and row ) will be entirely the same for all worksheets. The only difference aka problem is different sheet. I want to use sheet 1 as a template and copy it down to next 90 sheets taking all contents except data. Is there anyway I can copy and paste the whole template to another 90 sheets while making pivot table work and calculate and update itself according to relative data from each own worksheet? I use excel 2007 btw
I have an Index Sheet where I would be typing the name of the Sheet and a Command button to execute the operation of Adding the Sheet with the name mentioned in the Column C..
